Well, genjosanzo8/shinobiningen, that's the whole point though...your picture isn't showing AT ALL what's going on in these DB eps. That's like sharpening the dragon box with a shit-tonne of artifacting and saying "look, funimation didn't do a HD film transfer for the level sets, they just sharpenned DBox as much as I did but they know how to get rid of the artifacting and haloing".

Btw, your lines look NOTHING like these DB eps. Trust me, I've been messing with edge-enhancement and line darkening filtering for 5-6 years now.

Unfortunately, the recordings of the original series weren't any better than the optical audio found on the Dragon Boxes.
I'm only seeing this now and want to reply to it, but I don't want to take this thread off topic. Is there a general broadcast audio discussion thread anyhwere? If not can somebody start one, or I will myself in a few hours when I can
And you talk like if i am arrogant? Enigmo how many Times did you spread tout shit hère and were banned for that? No matter how many Times you are in edge enhancement sharpening i just wanted to show that it was artificial and even if i cant have thé same things myself it s an upscale for sure and you know how much it is as you have done thé same when you get thé broadcast audios and spread tout shit with tout shitty remaster (sure with broadcast audio and some audio knowledge you can talk like if you remastered dbox audio...). If tout work was as great as you wanted to people should have been better with you

I have no idea why you keep asserting I am Enigmo.
https://www.youtube.com/user/Bellyzbad1 This is me. Enigmo makes AMVs and we are both from the UK, that's the only similarity we have.

Why are you going so off topic and throwing such personal accusations? Please, let us stay on topic, genjosanzo8/goku93/shinobiningen/hakaibills93 ^_^ (S'il vous plaît, laissez-nous rester sur le sujet ^_^)

Agreed...someone needs to control Genjosanzo8.

To resume the topic, let me show an actual example of what artificial line darkening looks like.

http://screenshotcomparison.com/comparison/127151

I upscaled to 1440p--after the processing--to make it easier to see the differences.

This is what line "sharpening" without sharpening the entire image looks like. It looks very artificial. This is because the darker lines occur from an overlay of black pixels drawn on top of the original image, based on edge detection. It's not like the case of normal sharpening where simply the contrast around edges is increased--that's why there's no haloing here. But, unlike normal sharpening, it's literally introducing artificial content (drawn lines). To anyone (other than Genjo) it should be obvious that in the DB eps Arian is showing, the lines do not look artificially drawn on via a line-darkening filter. A normal sharpener wouldn't be able to make the black lines darker without haloing. It's possible to remove haloing but at the cost of lines looking smudged (I can show if anyone wants to see, but you can take my word for it). What's more is, normal sharpening (enough to make lines look this dark) looks really bad on grainy SD footage; it gives the grain somewhat of a bevelled look, and these DB eps' grain looks perfectly untouched to me.

So funny thé Guy is provocating me hère and by pm (it is allow for banned members to came back hère?) I said it i am not an encode expert like you arent either it s not cause you can t do something that it is impossible so it s true that this source is better than dbox even if you were saying thé truth what i know is impossible for a sick minded like you. You can t deny that thé Guy lie about thé stream source ...hé lie about saying it s not an hd upscale as there isn t any bluray release or HD stream for dragon ball in thé world (or show evidence about it) even thé Guy couldn t show evidence about it so as thé topic talk about an HD remaster of dragon ball , thé answer is no it s not HD remaster just à liar like you

Not bad at all but is it just me or is the line art thinner in your correction?

I know it's not exactly what you guys are after but we've to remember FUNimation has remastered the DB movies 1-4 in high definition and my word, they look beautiful in high def! Yes, there is the issue that some parts may look too dark so some detail has been lost but it's nowhere near as bad as their Orange Bricks / Season Blu-rays. If only FUNimation would release a Blu-ray pack of the DB Movies 1-4.

You know, it's kind of surprising for the HD remaster they didn't crop the movies like they did with the Z ones. :)
