Unless that video has been doctored up somehow for commerical use, the gameplay looks a lot smoother than any of the Budokai or Sparking! games.
Battle High 2, starring Kyle Hebert as well as myself, has been released on Xbox 360, OUYA, PC, Linux, Mac, and Xbox One!

More Screenshots + Confirmed Character : Bardock

Post by Lord Moonstone » Thu Mar 01, 2007 12:20 am

They're all posted directly on this thread, and didn't want a link to every picture, but here
is the thread.

Bardock confirmed.

You can change the "Camera Angel" :D
So now we're viewing the game from an Angel's perspective

Also some, what I'll call, Dragon World Screenshots.

Planet Namek stage also confirmed.

(w00t :) )

Planet Namek with PSP's graphics will be very interesting indeed. However there is the chance that not all of it seen on the PS2's version will be seen in the PSP's version. Or in the case it does fit, it might be a little cramped. Just saying is all.

Anyone notice that the camera angle screen is labeled "Camera Angel"?. Pretty bad mistake. :P

Let's hope the final product doesn't have SSW2-level amounts of typos.

Even if it does, I'm getting this game fer sure, since I know I'm gonna be getting a PSP soon. It'll be a nice substitute for the other Budokai games, in relation to my distinct lack of a PS2.

I'll give a big thanks to the Gamefaqs Forums for this information.

From the 1st Page scans(Trunks and Gohan is on the side):

-The story mode is called " Trunks: Another Road"(which explains the US title of the game).

-It's in "Real Time" Mission, if the Town's Meter is down to zero, you will receive a penalty.

-Will be in a Team of 3.

From the 2nd Page(Buu is on the side):

-Babidi goes through Trunks mind to see his memories, which he then creates "Clones" of Goku and Cell, and used them as his minions in order to revive Buu.

-There is a level up system, where the character has a card, and is leveled up by what you get in the slots.

Well, that certainly explains why Cell and Goku is in Future Trunks time line, maybe thats how other characters will appear in the game.

I hope this clears up a lot for you guys.

Oh God... please don't be like Battle Stadium D.O.N. to unlock these cards...

I was at Gamestop this Saturday, and lo and behold, they had SB2 in early.

And guess what I saw as the coverart.

Image
Not only that, look at Broli's face and the area surrounding it. Not to mention the worse-looking "Another Road" part. It's definately 'shopped.
It honestly looked like something printed off of a $30 inkjet printer or worse... but nope, it's final.
EDIT: Oh, my GOD! I just noticed you can see Goku's elbow covering Piccolo's mouth! XD
Yup, even the elbow was on there. I shit you not...

Perplexing as this is, I hope the game is better than the cover. I would've gotten it hadn't I been a cheapass and going for the $20-or-less games, but my brother is the one with the PSP so I wouldn't have gotten to play it more than a day anyways (visiting; left the next day).

Anyone by any chance get it themselves yet?

Was that on the actual case, or just a sign promoting the game? I went to GameStop a while ago and a sign promoting the game was using that box art.

It was the box itself. I didn't see any posters, but an ad in their weekly newsletter used the same cover I think.

But yeah. It was on the shelf like every other game. Empty, but with a price sticker slapped on it, rather than on the "coming soon" shelf.

This incident also happened for Tenkaichi 2's release.

They had the original horribly drawn Trunks with his hand backwards as the promotional cover, but when the game shipped it was the re-done cover.

I think they just google 'Shin Budokai : Another Road Cover' and pick the first image they can find to print off for a promotional box.

They have the right cover on their website entry though.. @_@

A couple of new videos:

Something I noticed: Gohan doing the makkankosappo. Neat.

Err... it wasn't a promotional box. :?

It was for sale, not pre-order.

Hopefully if these do really well we may get a port of both Shin Budokais to the PS2 just like the GTA Stories.

I would like that a lot. It saves me the trouble of getting a PSP.

Well I got the game. Initial reaction? meh. Not much different from the first game. Not worse, but not any better, really. Maybe a review to follow in the next day or so.

At my local EB Games, I didn't see that promotional box you saw. I saw the initial cover art. On sale & everything.

Honest to god, I didn't see a promo box.

I distinctly remember seeing it say >NEW< $39.99 on the sticker. It was in line with the regular games, not the "Coming Soon" racks. And I also very much remember saying to brother, "Hey, look what's out! *points* And ya want to see something funny? Look at Piccolo's mouth, that there is Goku's ELBOW!"

If for some strange reason both cover arts are out, I don't think I am lying, or saw a promo box.

Believe me, you saw the promo cover. They just put it on the wrong spot on the shelf. Last week at my EB, it was on the shelf with a price tag on it too. Sure enough when I went and bought the game it was the better looking cover.

So far I can tell you that I don't really like this new "Another Road" story mode. The free roaming flying parts before battles are unnecessary and ugly looking, and the story itself is just plain ridiculous. Some of the things they've thought up are just plain stupid.

The game overall is good and the added characters and transformations make it better than the first game but still nothing to go out and buy a PSP for. Hopefully I'll finish the game by the end of the weekend and if no one does it first, I'll throw a review up.
