I mean it's was pretty obvious from the very beginning that Goku was supposed to be the only one who "Got" Zeno and had some weird connection with him. Like I'm pretty certain this was even directly stated.

Which would make it easy for Goku to be like "You're worrying too much, I'm just asking for a tournament, he's not gonna do anything like that!" The type of unassuming, instinctive attitude Goku has had from day one.

You keep bringing up Zeno erasing Trunks' timeline but from Gokus perspective that could easily just be an extreme overcorrection to an actual problem. Asking for a Tournament to a guy who seems to like him and wants to have fun is not the type of thing Goku would think would have negative implications.

Time and time again, Gokus reckless decisions have come not from a disregard for the consequences, but his grasp of the situation and everyone else either sees where he's going or they dont. Goku is the epitome of this:



And when he don't got this, he tends to be pretty proactive.

Goku was completely clueless about Monaka and was dumb in DBS, so it is hard to see that Goku would understand Zeno when he is unpredictable.

Goku even annoyed Zamasu, since he didn't stop being a pest towards him. Goku even pissed of Whis and Beerus for being annoying and even disgusting. Whis even considered not to train Goku.

Goku in DBS even forgot to seal Zamasu after using the Mafuba on him.

He also doesn’t even know what a kiss is!

In the anime Master Roshi told Goku to wait while he gets the talisman, but Goku just left without it. Looks like Goku didn't wait for Master Roshi. Then in the future time line, Goku forgot the urn which got destroyed, so he couldn't perform that Mafuba. Then when Future Trunks fixed the urn and performed it, then they find out that Goku forgot the talisman.

Lets not forget that Goku forgot the senzu beans, something that Goku never forgets. Goku believes eating many senzu beans gives someone immortality.

And also some of you forgot one major thing when it comes to him being the reason ToP was announced. Wherever Goku could know or didn't know if Zeno would threaten the universes (I am on the side that he could and behave a lot more responsible much way in a vein of experienced, smart master he was in Buu saga), even if he didn't and thought initially Zeno is a harmless child, let's look at his behavior AFTER he found out the universes may get erased.

Should this be a moment of self reflection, something like "oh man, guys, I really screwed up big time, I'll get us out of it"?
Of course not.
Goku is still just excited with this bug dumb grin because fight fight fight FIGHT and "eh, don't worry".
This is not a likable character. Most of all if you thought Goku from DB was a static character, Super Goku has you covered. He is theost static character there can be with the worst traits, no self reflection, no mistakes, no questioning himself.
