Discussion regarding the entirety of the franchise in a general (meta) sense, including such aspects as: production, trends, merchandise, fan culture, and more.

I.M.O all of the dragonball series needs to be redrawn, mostly these scenes which I found in this video when I typed in poorly drawn dbz...

http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=tzPg5D7Sx4I

Another video can be found in the search results too...

http://uk.youtube.com/results?search_qu ... +drawn+dbz

But don't look down too hard on the dragonball series animation, because I have seen worse in Naruto which you can find many videos of badly drawn scenes in that link above on youtube.

And I'd take this triangle crap over those Naruto artists who can think that characters limbs and body parts can stretch any day ;3

I... don't know. The South Park guys are actually redoing the entire series in HD although I imagine that being a lot easier.

I don't care but it'd be nice.
If challenge had a taste, you'd be quite delicious.

I don't know why you're so excited to see the Cell Saga.
Maybe because it has some of the most (frequent) bad art in the whole series.

The Boo saga comes second in that category.

Freeza saga had the higher number of badly drawn episodes AND segments. By segments, I mean where art would switch back and forth constantly from decent to piss poor.

Take the ReaCoom and Freeza fights, for example.

Boo had some bloody awesome art work (save for a little bit of the Majin Vegeta v. Son Gokû fight, but that was sparce).

I'm saying that the Boo Saga fits in the same "Frequently Bad Art" category as the Cell Saga.

You may have already addressed this but why are they not just re-animating the entire series with the new art style and have everything more consistent like Movies #12-13 or the new Special?
The Saiyans are very much like the Klingons and Jem'Hadar.

I don't think it was confirmed one way or another, so either is just as likely. Although it does seem like it would make more sense to re-animate the whole series sans filler. I'd buy that quicker than you can say Special Beam Cannon.

South Park guys are NOT redoing the entire series in HD.

South Park used to be done in Power Animation, and is currently done in Maya. (only issue to not be done that way was the first episode).

It's simply a matter of telling it to output in the higher resolutions. When they are saying 're rendering', they mean re outputting the episodes (a few earlier ones may have used low resolution texture files, if so those will look slightly older than the new ones, or else they will attach the modern textures to those, or have the textures repeat, which would largely be unnoticeable.

South Park was never traditionally animated(1st episode cardboard cutouts not included if you consider that 'traditional'), it's a trick of the textures.

As for the first episode, I believe the cardboard was recorded frame by frame on high resolution film, which takes care of that episode.

Their own announcement even specifically said rerendering, it said nothing about 'redoing' the episodes in HD, they were always done in a way that could be natively output in any resolution.

最近の仕事

プリキュアOP(もう放送してます)やワンピースの原画が

My Recent Works

I finished drawing keyframes of the opening of Pretty Cure (now being already aired) and the storyboard for Saint Seiya, then January has passed. In February, I have to finish the keyframes for Pretty Cure, but I also have to work on the storybord for Seint Seiya, Dragon Ball things and the BANK(scenes used in every episodes like the transformation of Sailor Moon) for Pretty Cure.. I don't know which one I should work on first... lol

They'd be stupid not to do something with the franchise at this point. What with all these new games, movies, toys, and DVD releases. It's obvious that the popularity of the series is rising.

I agree, I would love for the whole series (including GT) to be re-animated in the new art style, that is along the lines of the recent Kakarrot versus Freeza fight. :D

Or they could just reuse the old recordings?

The anime started in 86.

If they do not edit the footage, that will be fine.
However the tapes include voices only do not exist anymore, so they can't reuse them if they cut the filler scenes.
