Official On-Going DBZ 2013 Movie Thread: "Battle of Gods"
Re: Mystery Jump Countdown: New DB Movie Confirmed!
DB 2013's 3/30/13 release date is a Saturday. One Piece Z's release date is on a Saturday too. Toei's Precure movie's release date is a Sunday though.
But as for why these are all on weekends instead of a Friday, I have no clue. I bet Julian would know.

The Kamen Rider W movie also came out on a Saturday as well. It looks like GI Joe 2 comes out that same weekend. I'm pretty sure this movie will likely beat it. The first movie open up on #5 when it came out in Japan back in 2009.

Chuquita, those designs are really something... the red ogres, wow. I hope we can see something like that in the movie.
Check out Journey's End, a short story of Goku and Vegeta's final days. "Time is running out for the last two Saiyans"

I agree, they're so nicely-designed, and there's a good variety of them too. I'm really happy that Toriyama still has that drive when it comes to designing characters.soulnova wrote:Chuquita, those designs are really something... the red ogres, wow. Wow, those look really nice. My absolute favorite is the red female ogre with the blue fur outfit. Especially because she doesn't follow the DB female body type formula aka big head, small body he started using. I have seen his work for Chrono Trigger, but I think this is the first time I'm seeing Dragon Quest. I prefer his ink colored artwork to the computer colored ones, but this is really nice too.

Probably because it's a small site. Was I was messing with bandwidth by image-posting? I'm sorry if I was. ^^;
Here's the gallery pages, they should work:

Re: Mystery Jump Countdown: New DB Movie Confirmed!
You know I was sitting around and thinking about Christmas...We need a Dragonball Christmas special
The Dragonboxes are like a middle aged woman who still looks good through simply taking good care of her skin and body with maybe a tiny bit of makeup while the Orange Bricks are like a middle aged woman who get's 50 tons of botox, makeup and plastic surgery in order to look younger and as a result looks even worse. ~ ringworm128

I'm happy with the TFS Christmas specials; for me at least, they've filled the gap.
If we were getting a new series instead of a movie, I'd say there would be a possibility though.

Re: Mystery Jump Countdown: New DB Movie Confirmed!
Tiny light at the end of the tunnel! Jump Festa 2013 is finally mentioned (in small print, and abbreviated to JF2013, but what else could that abbreviation be really) in the preview for next week's Weekly Shounen Jump: http://www.shonenjump.com/j/weeklyshone ... mg_big.jpg
So maybe, possible, hopefully, something's gonna be mentioned in Jump #42? Even if it's just a promo booth for the movie?
This is all such an exhausting and dishearteningly long wait. Most of my initial energy is gone because at this point I keep expecting nothing to update.

Re: Mystery Jump Countdown: New DB Movie Confirmed!
Anyone think that they might push this back to have more time marketing the film? It's September and we have no trailer. How can they market this movie when it does not come out in another five or six months from now?

A small trailer was debuted on live TV a few weeks ago. It's now on the film's website and YouTube. What's more, their site was also moving pretty slow for a while there so it has without doubt been viewed many times. Advertising will likely heat up in January, if not at JUMP Festa.Hellspawn28 wrote:Anyone think that they might push this back to have more time marketing the film? Hey do you guys think they will make vegeta officially go super saiyan 3? I doubt it, but it could be interesting.

I doubt it, I think Goku will likely go SSj3 depending on the villain.
In January will be two months before the movie starts? I guess marketing movies in Japan is different then here in the US? In the US, late marketing is a bad thing.JulieYBM wrote:Advertising will likely heat up in January, if not at JUMP Festa.

Oh, that's what he meant. Then yes, we still haven't seen that.

Yeah. So far, if we ignore SS3 GT Trunks since he can still be animated in one of the various GT themed Heroes GM commercials, SS3 Vegeta is the only new Carddass transformation that hasn't been animated yet. So I think it'd be a nice little treat to give us, if the villain warrants it of course. They shouldn't do it just to do it though, fan service should come second to good writing.
