This is a really good story. I like the art as well. I don't particularly care for the specials. I am 1/2 way through the story. I'll finish the rest tomorrow. Great job so far.

The new page went up, but I was waiting to see if someone else could get a better 'copy' of it. I dunno what they did, but whoever uploaded the page did it really weird this time, compared to everything else.
The way my cursor is working going over it, on the actual site, it's like...they made the page part of the background, and then put text boxes where they are on the page, and simply typed the dialogue in there, or something. Yeah, I don't even...anyway, the missing dialogue is -
'This story happened in universe 3. In the year 780 on planet Zioga 3.'
'Glup...'
Glup indeed.

They simply haven't inserted the text into the page yet. Normally, the ones responsible for that always insert the text into the page (in multiples languages) before the page comes out. This time, they didn't.

This new special is going to be 48 pages, at 3 a week. So, 4 month special. I hope it's good. It looks promising so far.

Gotta be honest, if you told me this was a Gogeta Jr. page I'd probably have believed it.

Inserted the text myself into the image, and had a go at improving the English while I'm at it.

Ohhh, okay. So that's what happened.

Same here, I wonder what the chances are of this being our new main artist. Using him or her in a special, to show people what they can do, would be a good way to endear people to him or her faster.

It's hard to tell from this one page alone, but yeah, my first thought was: "This artist seems good. I wonder if they're the new main artist."

Good. Next time use Komika Text Kaps. That's the font they used in all the other pages.

I don't think Gogeta Jr was ever cheap enough to use gradients in his art. At least not as part of a background. That said, the character and environment art themselves look much better than that. Wait and see I guess.
For all the flack that FUNimation gets on this forum for their quote about DBZ, there's some modicum of truth to it: a 9-year-old is born every day. Or in some cases, "reborn". DBZ may be a kids' show, but it's been so close to so many hearts all over Japan, America, and quite possibly, even the world.
So, Universe 3 is the Tapion, Bardock, Raichi, and Daimao universe, right?

Indeed it is, and I'd completely forgotten about Daimao coming from there. I wonder if his story will be in this special as well, but...I can't imagine how. It'll probably take a 3rd special for this Universe eventually to delve into that story.

So far this is the most retarded and out-of-character special I've ever read. And that's saying a lot judging from the previous ones. And I bet it's only going to get worse. Get ready for a roller-coaster ride of shit.

It's awkward to argue about the special that only few of us can see now (the translation team and even then only up to page 634) but I've got to say that I disagree with you completely. For me the characters are so wonderfully themselves that I couldn't even imagine them reacting differently. Also the art is superb (better than Gogeta Jr when he began DBM and that says A LOT). Beta has, as far as I can see, only one weakness - she doesn't understand that one should vary the tickness of the line - the characters are always drawn with a line that has exactly the same tickness as the background what makes them blend too much...

Wow. That was a great impression of one of those internet folks who see a 12 second teaser trailer for a movie and then condemn it as a god-awful piece of trash.

DNA is part of the Translation Team (Portuguese), so he has seen more than us, the normal readers (up to page 634, according to
Tzigi, another member of the Translation Team).
James Teal (Animerica 1996) wrote:When you think about it, there are a number of similarities between the Chinese-inspired Son Goku and that most American of superhero icons, Superman. Both are aliens sent to Earth shortly after birth to escape the destruction of their homeworlds; both possess super-strength, flight, super-speed, heightened senses and the ability to cast energy blasts. But the crucial difference between them lies not only in how they view the world, but in how the world views them.
Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. The more down-to-earth Goku has no illusions about being responsible for maintaining social order, or for setting some kind of moral example for the entire world. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.

I don't know how out of character it could be given that we barely got to know these characters at all.
