This is a nitpick but... Why do you write in small letters in some posts? Its annoying, we either strain our eyes to read it or we copy paste it to somewhere else to read it or something. Just use a spoiler or something.

Sorry it bothers you. I tend to use it for stuff that's kind of an after thought, something that's not really fully on topic, and sort of a gag of sorts I guess. As far as putting it in spoilers though, I dunno...to me that seems even more unnecessary somehow. I mean, the small text option is right there as well, so it's meant to be used for something after all, isn't it?

If it bothers enough people though, I can try to wean myself off it.

I was just wondering about it. I mean, if you write it, you obviously want at least some people to read it, right? But by writing in such a small font, whoever is reading your post either has literally to strain his eyes or take extraordinary measures, like copy pasting your text, just to read it. Seems to me that there are better options. The spoiler, for example, only requires the reader to click on the text to read it comfortably, and the poster can insert it just as easily as a font size since there's a button for it on the post options.

Obviously you can post however you like but, honestly, to me, small font gets annoying enough for me to skip it entirely without even trying to read it, which is something that I think is not your intention (having people skip on what you said).

(I'm even more puzzled by it since only a few forums I go to seem to use that at all. Most of the forums I go to don't have that trend).

Rereboy, the smaller text thing is supposed to be like someone is whispering, like when someone's dialogue is written smaller in a speech-bubble. The joke is that it's like an aside that they wouldn't just blurt out in mixed company, and they're aware of that, but still want to say it. Kind of like using italicize for sarcasm.

The spoiler tag, by contrast, is more like dragging someone aside to explain something in privacy, or waiting for certain people to leave the room. Besides, using the spoiler tag for something that isn't a spoiler is just bad form in my opinion.

I know what its supposed to be but its simply a joke that its not really worth it. Being a joke doesn't change the fact that its annoying because it forces the reader to strain his eyes or take extraordinary measures to be able to read it, which honestly just makes me want to skip it (and probably a lot of others too).

The spoiler is just an example or suggestion. Even using something as simple as brackets ends up being a better choice for the reader, like I did in this post and my previous one instead of changing the font.

Not to mention that even the rules of the forum state that "You want people to understand what you are saying". I'm not sure how writing in font too small to be read without difficulty doesn't somewhat go against that notion...
