Henshin like that are usually there to serve as bank. I think we will see that most of the times she transforms :)

Wow, that staff list is smaller than I expected, that's a pretty normal size for an episode like this in any other anime. I expected around 15 animators, or more.
Some things I noticed about staff on the Manabe side;
Yuu Yoshiyama has worked on a few episode of Super before, last one was 71 as far as I can tell.
Masumi Hattori is another one that has worked on a few episodes here and there, they worked with Yoshiyama on 71 and most recently on 86.
Just as above, Yumiko Tomiki is someone that has worked on a few episodes of Super here and there, with 86 also being their last one.
It's interesting that they all came back at the same time, hopefully they'll show up a but more often than every 13 or more episodes.
2nd key animator Yuriko Tanaka is new, and if it's the person I think it is they've worked on My Hero Academia in the past.

Looks like Manabe (or his correction)
I'm bad at English and still learning. If there's anything wrong, please correct me. :D

#101

Pretty solid episode from a visual stand-point. I would say it's probably the visually strongest episode of the tournament thus far and though a very welcome edition, still felt a little underwhelming to me.

Both halves were pretty solid, with Ken Otsuka doing some okay stuff with Kasheral vs the androids, even though I did feel like it was a little limited.

Manabe's work in the second half is pretty obvious most of the time, he has a sqecific way of applying highlights and his faces look really expressive even when they aren't particularly exaggerated. I think the most obvious scene he did was the beam struggle at the end of the episode.

I have to agree with Ajay's guess for Shin Youngsoon's work, that smoke created when Tenshinhan blasted the universe 3 guy off the stage pretty much confirmed it for me, it was pretty much 1:1 with what Youngsoon posted on his twitter.

Overall, decent episode, easily the best in the arc, but it still felt a little underwhelming on a whole, though I'm sure that has to do with my own expectations.

NEP looks pretty decent. Looks like they're using a fair bit of re-used animation, both from the opening and the transformation scene, hopefully it actually improves the overall quality of the episode on a whole

I wonder who the people were that did these shots in in Ono's half;

I hope Manabe is able to do some more action in his next episode, he didn't get to do a whole lot here, and honestly a lot of his artwork kinda lacked its typical character.
He still had some really nice shots though;

Unless he was focused on shots not of the U7 and 6 cast it seems Ide was pretty light this episode, wonder if that means he's going to be super heavy on 103.
I think the use of Otsuka here was interesting, generally they only use him for really important episodes, I wonder if he's going to be showing up again soonish

Also I really like this shot from the NEP;

What a solid episode in terms of animation!! ¿who did Kahseral vs. 17? ¿was it Otsuka?
What I really loved about this episode was to see Caulifla with battle damage...

Also who wrote this episode?

Yes, it was Otsuka.

The episode was written by Hiroshi Yamaguchi.

Episode looked great today. Didn't see one off-model shot or anything that took me out, really great all around.

I wish they could all be animated at this level.

pretty curious to see Kasheral has the most realistic human nose in all the DB history :lol:

Solid episode, I'm still waiting for repeated frames as gohan vs lavenda or anything more impactful as we saw in the pre-tournament in general (gohan vs goku for example), but one has to be very negative to not know they're saving the best bits of animation for the serious battles

Interesting that there was very little cut back to the gods in this episode, getting extra sheets to draw looks like the advantages are starting to show.

Also again the NEP for this episode showed the least interesting stuff definitely at this point not a coincidence & long may it continue.

I'm surprised I've seen a few people say this episode was ugly, it was a pretty normal looking episode of a long running anime.

Either people are still talking from the crappy stream they watched or they liked the narrative content but they needed something to complain about.

Solid animation throughout the episode, quite the jump compared to what we got last week, tho in terms of choreography I didnt like it, I normally dont like it when theres no cqc fight.

Art and animation were better than the previous episode, I hope it keeps improving.

- Episode 101-

Another solid episode! I'm loving everything so far.

I like what they are doing with the arena. The arena being indestructible until the end would be boring.This way it gives me the sense of chaos that this battle royal is supposed to be.

As expected, just like they do with Sailor Moon and Digimon transformations, they will recycle Brianne's transformation next week.

Vegeta vs Ribrianne in the Opening will be used too, unsurprisingly.

Only Goku vs Jiren sakuga is left. <3

I would like they reused C17 part too. The scene is actually longer in his hype trailer at 1:07.
A world without Dragon Ball is just boring.

Favourite old DB Animators: Masaki Sato and Tadayoshi Yamamuro
Favourite new DB Animators: Yuya Takahashi and Chikashi Kubota

What would you guys say is the worst animated episode of the tournament so far? I think they've all looked pretty good or better than average, I guess by default the first or second ep?

I would go with the first one, because of all that BANK animation used in an inelegant way. The second was better because it improved the way they used BANK, more "hidden".

I don't agree with this. A lot of fans didn't even noticed the BANK animation until people pointed it out to them.

Goku barely took a backseat in the Buu saga, at best he took a leisurely stroll round back while everyone else cried for him to come back.

So I was watching Kai last night and noticed in the OP for Freeza arc how good SS looked and wish we got that colouring in Super cuz regular SS looks like crap in DBS:
