Kuririn should be in his late 50's. I think his appearance is plausible.

He only looks older because he has a beard which happens to be white (and white eyebrows). Remove the beard or change its color and he is just Krillin with some wrinkles.

So, the question becomes: is it plausible for Krillin to have a white beard at that age? And the answer is: yes, it is. At around that age, its common for real human males to have mostly white facial hair, or even totally white facial hair.

Having a white beard and white eyebrows doesn't mean he is as old as Roshi or something like that. Even I have quite a few white hairs in my beard and I'm still in my twenties.

So I guess the chapter title confirms Hirudegarn is gonna be showing up? And does Goku have a base form Broly expression going on or is it just me?

Because DBM logic.
Or just logic. He's several years older than GT Kuririn, and seems to have lived in a much more stressful universe. Remember how much older Bulma looked in the Trunks special?

You're right, he totally looks like Broli! The familiarity of his face was really bugging me until you mentioned that.

As unlikely as it is, I want Krillin to win this. He's just so much more interesting. I know Cell will win the next round but I'd rather see Krillin in that match than freakin' Tapion. I suppose Krillin can win if he just knocks Tapion out, regardless if Hirudegarn is still standing, since Tapion is the actual participant.

Yes, it is. I don't know if it was intentional but the characters look pretty emotionless in this page.

I like this style better than Gogeta Jr.'s.

I'm torn. I don't think I like Beta's Tapion as much but there's something about her Krillin I like a lot. I can't put my finger on it, though. In the end, I think DBM found a good replacement.

I think the same way. :P Gogeta Jr's got the better Tapion, Beta's got the better Kuririn.

Some details are either missing or were added in if you compare. Like how Tapion and Krillin's belts have switched colours.

I think Beta's Tapion is a bit too angry-looking...
The drawing now is closer to the Saiyan-Freeza arc style while before it was closer to the Cell-Boo arc style.

Beta's line art is too thin. It looks like she's drawing the images at a larger resolution and then she shrinks them so that they fit in the panels. This results in lines that are too thin and details that are often too small (in the previous special).

Well, most characters in DBZ have similar eyes (especially the ones that are Super Saiyan 2...).

Good. That is a good thing.
My favourite art style (and animation) outside Toriyama who worked on Dragon Ball: Katsuyoshi Nakatsuru, Masaki Satō, Minoru Maeda, Takeo Ide, Hisashi Eguchi, Katsumi Aoshima, Tomekichi Takeuchi, Masahiro Shimanuki, Kazuya Hisada

I must be one of the few who likes Gogeta Jr.'s Kuririn better than Beta's apparently. :P I'm not complaining by any means though. Gogeta Jr. is the better artist in comparison I think, but Beta is still a great artist, and was already my top choice for who should take over anyway. I think it's in good hands.
