Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
I too prefer Gogeta Jnr's art over all. But I'm fine with Beta's.

Maybe if Gogeta Jr. was still drawing like he used to I'd feel the loss a bit more. But we stopped getting pages like this a long time ago:

I'm sure Beta's art will decline too after a hundred pages of drawings. Even Toriyama's art declined over the years and he was paid for his art.TonyTheTiger wrote:Maybe if Gogeta Jr. was still drawing like he used to I'd feel the loss a bit more. I just noticed this....Doesn't Cell look kinda "chibi"-ish in the panel where he shoots the Makankosappo?

Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
The fact that Beta draws at a higher resolution and then shrinks her drawings is really apparent here in the 4th panel (Tapion is way too small and all the details are lost).

That's how all comics are drawn. Artists don't work at the same size of the final page.

Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
Compare Gogeta Jr.'s art to Beta's. The latter is shrunk much more than the former.
Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
So a great new artist Beta replaces Gogeta Jr. and the story of Dragon Ball Multiverse continues.
I preferred the older look but this is a great replacement. I look forward to seeing more of her style.

I prefer beta's. I mean, it looks more defined and the faces look better.
My favourite art style (and animation) outside Toriyama who worked on Dragon Ball: Katsuyoshi Nakatsuru, Masaki Satō, Minoru Maeda, Takeo Ide, Hisashi Eguchi, Katsumi Aoshima, Tomekichi Takeuchi, Masahiro Shimanuki, Kazuya Hisada

Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
Tapion seems a lot stronger now than he did in his special chapter. He got pinned down by some regular ol' rocks and didn't seem to have any real fighting ability whatsoever then, and now he's taking hits from Krillin (maybe even a stronger Krillin than the one we know) and recovering pretty quickly.
I'm kind of surprised his sword didn't break on the shell, though. It's supposedly the same one Trunks used, which broke on #18's arm, and yet it doesn't break against a big chunk of the same stuff that snapped the Z-Sword?
I guess he's somehow controlling or drawing upon Hirudegarn's power now, based on the "wrap me in your aura" line and the kinda creepy chaotic-looking flame-ish aura he has compared to the regular DBZ-style auras other characters get. Which really reminds me of Naruto and the nine-tailed fox demon he has sealed inside him (especially if Hirudegarn manages to start breaking free and rampaging like the chapter's title seems to imply is going to happen.) Maybe that's also why his sword seems less breakable than usual, it's being pumped up to Hirudegarn-ish levels of durability by the aura.

Heh, I guess Tapion isn't using a lot of Hildegaan's power if he's getting smacked away by Kuririn.

Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
Probably not, no. Unless this Krillin is much stronger than the one we know, and Krillin somehow being on Super Buu-ish levels is just hard to imagine even in an alternate universe where there's a possibly-stronger Krillin who knows Kaioken (and presumably more than just the basic 2x level of Kaioken, since he bothered to specify which one he was using.)
He probably can't use anything close to Hirudegarn's full power without actually releasing Hirudegarn, he's just borrowing a little bit for a boost. Which makes it work pretty well as a counterpart to Kaioken--they both can be used at different levels, and both lead to bad stuff happening if you try to push them further than what you can actually control.
EDIT: Also, Multiverse's version of Hirudegarn could always be weaker than the one in the movies, since the movies didn't happen exactly as shown (and Tapion is from a universe which didn't follow his movie's storyline at all.) They've already changed Broly's power, after all.

Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
Actually, that's true. Hildegaan could be weaker... but yeah, I don't believe any of the humans in year 9 have power reaching that high. Unless Rou Kaioshin unlocked their potential, but even then, I find that quite a stretch.

You'd think HIrudegarn popping in like this would be cheating, but I guess he does come from INSIDE Tapion...
