I loved this inbetween shot of Gohan's transformation:

So much expresion and anger. I love it.
And it kind of reminds me of another shot from Goku's first time transformation as SSJ

Why wait a week for important things like context when you can have outrage and indignation right now? It's like the people who complain about art/animation quality when they watch a shitty youtube stream.FortuneSSJ wrote: Toshio + SSG Goku/Hit combo. Just come up with a proper explanation for SSG return and I'm so in. Toshio is my favourite writer, so I will trust him even though it's risky because it doesn't make any sense to me. Let's gamble.![]()
But as always I guess some people can't wait and they are already criticizing him on his twitter by saying episode 104 has bad writing and he ruined Hit, because HIt should be "badass" forever. This fanbase hardly can get any lower than this. If it wasn't for this forum, I would probably not discuss anything about this franchise with anyone expect with my friends.
SSG Goku never looked better. Just like always, the new filter does wonders.

Can you explain what you did here, because all I saw was someone moving three different frames and placing them a top of each other in order to prove a non-existent point.cuartas wrote:wanna bet?BakaManiaHD wrote:Look closely at Gohan's hair spikes, ears and lineart, there is a clear differencecuartas wrote: Look again, the only difference is in the shading that was added and removed in some of the lines of the clothes

Re: Super Animation Catalogue 2.0 - Episode 100
So salty eh? this discussion could've ended in the first post, I just's said it was curious, nothing else for some Tate fans to feel offended, at the end the frames are so fast that is unnoticeable, but I tend to see different animations frame by frame to see how they move, and noticed this, but you guys came here to say in other words I was lying, etc. so I had to prove that indeed is an inverted image, using the 2 images I captured in the initial post, inverting one and placing it on top of the other. The point is that it was curious, you don't have to dig up more and be soooo defensiveJazzMazz wrote:Can you explain what you did here, because all I saw was someone moving three different frames and placing them a top of each other in order to prove a non-existent point.cuartas wrote:wanna bet?BakaManiaHD wrote: Look closely at Gohan's hair spikes, ears and lineart, there is a clear difference

Re: Super Animation Catalogue 2.0 - Episode 100
Is there any backlash against Tate in the Japanese fandom? How do they feel about him?
Re: Super Animation Catalogue 2.0 - Episode 100
Although this is an opening sequence not a scene from an actual episode, it's funny how Gohan don't give a ratass about blowing buildings behind him while powering up just for the sake of being "badass"HybridSaiyan wrote:

Last time I asked Kei, he said it's similar to what you see in the west.precita wrote:Is there any backlash against Tate in the Japanese fandom? How do they feel about him?
Causal viewers don't really notice, some people vehemently despise him, while others, in particular artists and animators, appreciate his work, though not everyone necessarily finds it fitting for their view of Dragon Ball, regardless.
Pretty much as divisive as everyone with this approach ever is.

As long as his work remains artistically sound, then it'll always be a difference in taste.cuartas wrote: At this point is still people issue OR animator issue?

Re: Super Animation Catalogue 2.0 - Episode 100
The fact that he created that polarization amongst the fandom and he keeps his style, speaks volumes about him as an artist, as every great did in history. I don't know if he's unique, but he has almost like an auteur touch (Ajay, correct me if I'm exaggerating), and that's awesome if you ask me.cuartas wrote:but is it fine? to remain stagnant despite the backlash or try to change and make something more appealing, or he just don't give a fuck?Ajay wrote:As long as his work remains artistically sound, then it'll always be a difference in taste.cuartas wrote: At this point is still people issue OR animator issue?

I think change is not the word, more like polish, shimanuki did it through all this endeavour and his art is more than remarkable compared to his first one picey faces and general proportions.PMD wrote:The fact that he created that polarization amongst the fandom and he keeps his style, speaks volumes about him as an artist, as every great did in history. I enjoy Tate's approach to animation. Some people tend to confuse the difference. Animation wise, Tate definitely knows what he is doing. The only thing I dislike is his actual art. Sometimes It's not too bad, but most of the time he sacrifices it too much for his animation to be smooth imo. Even some of my more casual friends can tell which episode has Tate in it now, solely based on the art of the episode.
