If anyone would be so kind could someone provide a link to the interview of Akira Toriyama explaining Goku not transforming into a super saiyan anymore? I'm having a heated debate w/ my brothers who think I am lying about this piece of information.

Looks like Earth. I also don't see why they'd show a random planet blowing up.

I've tolerated the changes to the DBZ formula for long enough! The concept of Vegeta actually not getting his ass handed to him by a major villain is already an unforgivable crime, let alone actually winning! Seriously, it never happens!

Doubt Beerus cares about earth and it's in habitants, that would be out of character for a God of destruction that likes battles.

It's possible that Goku and Vegeta will fight one after the other, before perhaps teaming up for the final attack or something.
It's possible Vegeta will be entrusted with finishing the fight too, the trailer pretty much end up with Vegeta seeing that Goku's down and his voice saying to Freezer something like "now it's over for you, you bastard!".
Vegeta and Goku are pretty much put on equal ground in this movie, even on the poster. So it's possible one does the first half of the fight, the other one finishes it.

Anyway, can you imagine the irony on Freezer if Vegeta is the one to deal the final blow?
He came to get revenge on the two Saiyans that defeated him, and he gets defeated by a third one. Goku, then Trunks, then Vegeta.

Most of the Z-Fighters have gotten their asses handed to them by every major villain as well. And do people forget that Vegeta has the highest kill count for villains amongst the Z-Fighters.

Toriyama thoughts: "It's funny because they used to transform in SSJ to battle powerful villains now they don't need for no apparent reason! Fans will surely find it funny and amusing "

Crazy, not serious at all theory time.

Goku fights Freeza and fails. Vegeta steps up and reveals he has the same power Goku has. Freeza, tired from his battle, destroys the Earth before he can be defeated. He revels in the glory amidst the planet's debris. Beerus and Whis arrive, and Freeza is deemed too dangerous to roam the universe now. They offer him the option to either perish as the hands of the Hakaishin or leave their universe. Freeza, questions Beerus' superiority now that he's grown so strong, but knows he is still too injured to challenge him at the moment, and so he accepts banishment...planning to return once he's healed with a whole army of potential recruits from wherever they send him.

Que the wait for the third movie: "Universe F: The Return of Freeza". =P

Never said he did. But Beerus doesn't just destroy for the sake of destroying. It's his job. He destroys stuff to maintain balance in the universe and prevent stagnation. Freeza is not bound to that reasoning and, with his new power, could have even surpassed Beerus and Whis (we don't really know yet). He could potentially rampage uncontested by anyone and upset the entire natural order the gods have established.

Freeza's got a nice golden tan going.

But seriously, I've fallen out of Dragon Ball, but I will say that this movie has me somewhat interested as to where the story "may" be leading towards.

Anyway after I saw Battle of Gods as much as I liked it I did have a few issues with being

1. Too many characters meaning most hardly did or said anything.

RoF may be an improvement here because we haven't seen Goten, Trunks, Buu, Mr Satan, Yamcha, Oolong, Dende etc.

2. Movie wasn't intense enough.

RoF looks to be a huge improvement in this regard, it doesn't come across as a reunion movie. It's got an actual villain, people are actually killed in this one and maybe even Earth gets destroyed.

3. Too much gag humour.

Which may be improved with this movie because of the reason above about it being more intense. It looks like Pilaf and co won't be in this movie nearly as much as the last. Only concern is the cute baby angels though I expect them to have a very small role so it's not a big deal.

If we're counting them for Vegeta, then I don't see why you wouldn't count the Cell Juniors for Gohan. They were way bigger threats than Pui Pui or any of the guys Vegeta killed on Namek.

It's the SSJ/SSJ2 Gohan fiasco all over again. They don't want Gohan lumped with Goku and Vegeta even though he had their shtick first, so they reduce him to SSJ so Goku and Vegeta can become. Ultimate Goku and Ultimate Vegeta. Freeza was jeaous of Super Saiyans, and so once he discovered his race were mutated saiyans, he became Super Saiyan Freeza.

When Freeza saga came on Cartoon Network, the first SSj transformation before we heard in the next "episode of dragonball Z" ending. I used to think that dude with golden hair is another transformation of Freeza just to find out an episode later it was Goku transforming this time lol. Now 17 years later Freeza is still transforming into a SSJ lol.
