"Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread
Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread
It's potentially possible to be Gogeta, the only requirement would be to Vegeta learn the fusion dance. But, why bother, if they have the earrings. The 'retcon' will probably happen, but if it didn't, they could use the dragon balls to defuse.
So we could have Vegetto or Gogeta, both red and blue. Any of this would be great.
I think it's gonna end this chapter, but there could be another one too.

I hope the FT arc ends with the next chapter but I feel we will see two more.

We probably won't get it to end until the next chapter, it would feel very rushed..emperior wrote:I hope the FT arc ends with the next chapter but I feel we will see two more.
We might be in for two more chapters until he wraps it up

So disagree with all of this. The manga doesn't make more sense and these are not the characters as we remember them outside of Vegeta. So please don't state these as facts.Totamo wrote: Yet people praise it because it makes more sense, its more consistent, the characters are the same like we remember them and there are less gags.
But Dragon ball isn't my favorite anime because of nay of that, its because I have a fun time. I really hope this chapter does that because its like I'm reading a plot checklist

I made a bet with Alee9977 that Vegeta won't be beaten quickly by an opponent. If I lose, I switch my avatar to Vegeta getting beat by hit. If I win, he switches it to Vegeta holding Black by his hair. This will last a month.

Yeah, the one thing the manga does right is that nobody acts out of character. No flanderizations outside of Goku somehow never kissing ChiChi

Really can't see where you're coming from. The characters are acting as they should in the manga, but I would like to see your explanation on why you think the opposite.HeroR wrote:So disagree with all of this. Piccolo calling himself Piccolo Daimao after all these years is pretty out of character (especially considering he introduces himself, right after fusing with Kami, as "neither Kami nor Piccolo"), I'm not sure why nobody calls this out more often.OLKv3 wrote:Yeah, the one thing the manga does right is that nobody acts out of character. "I am neither kami nor piccolo"
"Then what do we call you"
"Just Piccolo"

You're right but remember,he introduced himself as "neither Kami nor Piccolo" shortly after he fused with Kami. Now that many years have passed since then,Kami may have less influence to Piccolo's personality,a possible result of him being lost in Piccolo's consciousness.Doctor. wrote:Piccolo calling himself Piccolo Daimao after all these years is pretty out of character (especially considering he introduces himself, right after fusing with Kami, as "neither Kami nor Piccolo"), I'm not sure why nobody calls this out more often.OLKv3 wrote:Yeah, the one thing the manga does right is that nobody acts out of character. So it's just character regression. Either way, it's a bad moment done purely for crappy fanservice.MyNiggaGoku wrote:You're right but remember,he introduced himself as "neither Kami nor Piccolo" shortly after he fused with Kami. Now that many years have passed since then,Kami may have less influence to Piccolo's personality,a possible result of him being lost in Piccolo's consciousness.

Right after that, he tells Goku to just call him Piccolo. He tells everyone else to call him PIccolo as well. The speech he gave to Frost was nothing more than a badass boast, don't see how that's out of character.Doctor. wrote:Piccolo calling himself Piccolo Daimao after all these years is pretty out of character (especially considering he introduces himself, right after fusing with Kami, as "neither Kami nor Piccolo"), I'm not sure why nobody calls this out more often.OLKv3 wrote:Yeah, the one thing the manga does right is that nobody acts out of character. is not worse than DBS episode 2, I thought piccolo was saying that,to show his original heritage.Relating to the Manga, the potara retcon will appear in the manga, This can't be a toei thing, since is too big to be filler,so maybe toriyama wanted to contradict potara, because he saw op it was in the Buu saga or he unintentionally forgot how the potara workDoctor. wrote:So it's just character regression. Yes, Piccolo, for convenience's sake, not Piccolo Daimao. Him referring to himself as Piccolo Daimao, the "great demon king", is completely out of character at this point.OLKv3 wrote:Right after that, he tells Goku to just call him Piccolo. Goku crapping on Gohan was also ooc.
Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread
I took it the same as how Vegeta still refers to himself as the prince of Saiyans when going into a battle. It's a title used to inimidate like a battle cry. They use generic titles a lot in Dragonball everytime they go into battle that halff the time don't actually mean anything. For some reason it's just their thing..Doctor. wrote:Yes, Piccolo, for convenience's sake, not Piccolo Daimao. It makes sense for Vegeta, because he never really let go of his past. Piccolo did, a long time ago.TheMikado wrote:I took it the same as how Vegeta still refers to himself as the prince of Saiyans when going into a battle. After reading Toyotaro's AF fan fic manga, Super being monthly really, really, really effects the story. Toyble's story telling actually really decent, especially his humor.
