No. I see the new animations breathing life into the series. I welcome and embrace it (this is what Kai should be like).

Agreed, actually hearing about this special is the one reason I want this game. The animation is crisp, it looks good and it's disheartening to think Kai didn't get the same love. The only thing that could make this better is if they tried to mimic Toriyama's style as it is today(I really love it!) but I'm totally fine with this. This takes me back to the openings of Budokai 2 and 3...god those were awesome.
...Wait what are you doing? Are you still reading this? I finished what I had to say, why don't you move on to the next post?

Yeah, I'm also pretty stoked about the new animation. The old stuff will still always be there. This is expanding the Dragon Ball legacy!

To elaborate, I'm not saying I "dislike" the new animation. I too am ecstatic that DragonBall is getting newly animated things. I guess I personally just don't see the big deal in the fact that the animation "looks" new. For me I prefer the more subdued colors and animation style of yesteryear.

I wonder if you will have to own a PS3 to watch this special? Will it be *in* the game disc?

That cover is so badass, and Broly is no where to be seen. :P

Raging Blast 2 is really shaping up to be one of the best DB games ever.

I think I understand where you're coming from, but I don't mind the shiny new look, I do think that the new drawing style is a bit awkward and I preferred the old style. I don't dislike the new style, but... I always get the feeling that something's off.

Maybe Ol' Dildo Head will be the new Broly.

I'm out of town for 1 day! and the cover along with the screen cap already revealed!
The new animation makes Goku and Vegeta looks really  while the old one not much.

Why is this a stupid question? This was only announced for the Japanese version, they might just omit this whole feature out of the American release. We just don't know yet.

No, the site updated(Daizex I mean) and has the press release from Namco Bandai saying it'll be in the American version.

I'd be shocked if the OVA wasn't dubbed, but you shouldn't assume something will be dubbed just because it is included as part of the package in a dubbed work. Both the collectors edition of Advent Children & Advent Children Complete had bonus anime features. Neither one included a dub.

Not crazy about that screenshot. It looks more like Kai's OPs and less like the Jump special(which is more or less how digitally animated Dragon Ball should look, along with the various 2D video game openings).

Damn it, I'm really excited. Unfortunately I don't own PS3 yet and probably long time won't so shame on me, but I'll wait for rip to appear on the internet and maybe next year will finally purchase PS3 and the game. I'm tired of fighting games in this franchise, but to be able to play with the ''brand new'' characters, it's finally one of those things whhich should be made of a long time before other then re-releasing Sparking series with improved graphics and few bonus lame characters like oozaru forms or SSJ3 of Vegeta and Brolli.

Sweet, according to the Dragon Ball: Raging Blast 2 Producer Dragon Ball GT and it's characters won't be in Raging Blast 2. Although I hope the focus on the original Dragon Ball in the story mode. In fact I would love it if the story mode would feature more Dragon Ball instead of it being primarily Dragon Ball Z with just a few Dragon Ball related scenarios.

After the announcement of Hacchi Hyack for Raging Blast 2 and the porting over of 20 previous characters, we've almost got all the major characters covered from the Z portion of the series, at least those who played a serious enough role. I know that since they are excluding giant characters, we won't have a complete roster for the main characters, but it is pretty close. With my preferences we are shy of my perfect roster by about 20 characters and a couple of alternate character costumes (Bio Broly can be a 3rd costume for "LSS" Broly since he can't return to base form).

I really want to keep Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball GT out of the game. Dragon Ball characters seem really out of place with a fair amount of them being unable to fly. I know the original games just made them fall unless you used an item, but that seems like a pointless solution for a situation that was needed to begin with. I love Dragon Ball, but its not about flying flashy moves and big explosions, not for the most part anyway. It doesn't fit this type of game play in my opinion and would make things much easier if it was left out. GT on the other hand has too many Character and transformations that would be required for a decent roster, and the original series would suffer from this as well. Spike typically adds around 30 characters to each new game, and without any of the more important characters from either series already being included, they wouldn't be able to put together a decent story mode with any of their additions between DB, Z and GT. All 15 GT spots would be filled by the time you finish Goku and Vegetas forms and fusions. So hoping that they just stick with the Z portion, with some of the more logical choices to fill out the rest of Raging Blast 2's roster (though Spike doesn't have to be logical), there are some characters I would hope to fill out the game.

Nail ,Future Gohan (Base, SS), Paikuhan, Dabra, Tullece, Janenba (Transformed), Lord Slug, Cooler (Base, Final Form, [Possibly Meta]), Jinzoningen 13 (Base, Fused), Bojack (Base, Transformed), and Hacchi Hyack have all but been confirmed via screen shots, scans, the cover, or the assumption of inclusion since they are in PtEtSS.

I don't know about you guys, but personally these guys need to return from the Tenkaichi/Sparking series either this game, or the next: Mecha Freeza, Mr. Satan, Evil Majin Buu, King Cold, Cell Jr., Saibaiman, Garlic Jr. (Base, Transformed), and Ultimate Gohan. How could Ultimate Gohan not have been announced yet? lol Great Saiyaman needs to return too, but he can simply be a costume for Gohan for all I care, with a slightly expanded movepool on Gohan for some Saiyamany goodness.

And I'm hoping that between this game or the next these new characters get added as it would help to flush out the story options for reenacting in Vs. Mode, as the story modes aren't always the greatest in these games.:
Uub (Kid) - It would be nice to reenact the final bit of Dragon Ball Z, which we've been unable to do since Budokai 3.
Jinzoningen 14 - I have a thing against henchmen, but he's not a henchman. He's an equivalent of 17 or 18 to Cell. Would be a nice addition.
Jinzoningen 15 - Same as 14, and would finish up the Z series Jinzoningen.
Bio Broly - He's a main movie villain and needs to be included. Since he's just Broly, I don't care if he's a costume for "LSS", an item for "LSS", or a character though.
Teen Goten (Base, SS) - As with Uub, characters from the end of Z would just be nice to see for once. IF a sequel after game 3 was announced a GT costume could be added easy.
Teen Trunks (Base, SS) - Same as Goten.
Pan (Kid) - Pan comes best in doses where she doesn't wine. lol And it would be fun to have another female character, and a small one at that.

These characters would just be fun to have, some of them are from newer media, and would be great for the current generation to recognize within the game. Some are simply easter eggs for Toriyama fans and would allow a new side of Dragon Ball to be seen by fans outside of the land of the rising sun.
Jump Special - Abo, Kado, Aka, and maybe Tarble.
Neko Majin Z - Z (Base, Super Neko Majin), Kurieza (Base, Transformed), Onio (Base, SS)
DB VRVS - Majin Ozotto

I'm just glad that, from the look of Vegeta in that pic, that they aren't going with the Super Saiya-jin style hair they went with in JSAT. I loved how that special looked, but I was not liking their hair coloring >.<
