I wouldn't look at it in terms of battle powers. If you ignore the battle powers, then you can argue that before the Saiyan arc, power progression was just as large as it was in the Saiyan arc onwards. For example, Goku went from being smacked around like a toddler by Tao Pai Pai to overpowering him in only three days of training with Karin, solely attributed to his incredible skill as a martial artist.

There's no difference between "Mastered Super Saiyan" and "Full-Power Super Saiyan." They're both terms used to describe the SSJ form without all of the drawbacks. The boost should always be 50x. Don't forget, they can suppress their power to whatever they so please in the "Full Power SSJ" form and then draw out the full extent of their power when necessary.

Except there's countless implications that puts their base powers in the billions at the very least that you ignore simply because of your Freeza bias.

The argument that you can just ignore stuff because you don't think the Boo arc makes sense is silly. Pure Boo > Evil Boo is implied far more than 100% Freeza > Base Saiya-jins, yet you yourself said the former makes no sense in the other thread.

The Base Saiya-jins effortlessly defeated Pui-Pui and Yakon, who were stated to be above Kaioshin, who can one-shot Freeza and likely even Piccolo. It doesn't get any simpler than that.

Knock this off. You don't get to decide what people can think or why. Tolerance for this sort of attitude over nothing but power levels is very low right now.

Only Bobbidi and Dabra made such a "statement," and they thought the same about the base Saiyans. Yet they were proven wrong, and shown on multiple occasions to be unreliable judges of power, almost as bad as Kaioshin himself. Statements that are immediately proven wrong mean very little. If PuiPui and Yakon aren't stronger than the base Saiyans, then why should we believe they're stronger than Kaioshin, too?

That part of the story is chock full of contradictions, both with itself and other parts of the entire arc before and after it. What about Goku meeting Kaioshin at the tournament and deducing that their victory isn't as much of a sure thing as he thought? What about Spopovitch scanning the base Saiyans with the energy collector and saying, "nah, their energy is too low?" What about when Kaioshin admits inferiority to the Saiyans only AFTER witnessing Goku use a burst of Super Saiyan 2? What about later when Kaioshin puts up a better fight against Fat Boo than Super Saiyan Gohan does? The "countless implications" here aren't as uncontested as you make them out to be.

The Majin Boo arc, the whole Bobbidi's spaceship sequence especially, is undeniably a bit of a mess. Like jjgp said, it's really just up to the individual to figure out something they're comfortable with. There should be no lambasting other members just for their opinions or approach not matching one's own.

Not exactly.
Full Power Super Saiyan or Super Saiyan Full Power(as it's actually written as in D2) in its original usage is a term that describes a Saiyan(Goku is used as an example), who has powered up to their full capabilities in that form.

A Saiyan who hasn't done that is just labeled Super Saiyan regardless of the user being able to adjust his ki in that form. An example is Gohan, who's only listed as Super Saiyan despite the text giving one of the common fan acknowledged descriptions of SSJFP. Following Daizenshuu 2's logic, Gohan can first be labeled a SSJFP, when he powers up in front of Cell.
Also of note is that SSJFP Goku is said to first appear in vol. 34, and we were introduced to his ki adjusting capabilities in the previous volume.

MSSJ, as I understand it, is a fan term created so others know, if you are talking about a Saiyan who has learned how to adjust his ki in that form or not.

Of course among most fans FPSSJ means the same as MSSJ, but that's not what it meant in its original usage.

Am I the only one that thinks Cell and Gohan were roughly equal to each other before Gohan got injured? I personally believe he was made to win weaker on purpose. Given that Dragon Ball generally promotes the underdog can win and such, I've always figured that through teamwork and confidence Gohan was able to beat the superior Cell.

That's why I'd order it like this:
Super Saiyan 2 Gohan - 2,000,000,000 or 4 billion or 1 billion and 42, etc.
Super Perfect Cell - 2,000,000,000 or 4 billion or 1 billion and 42, etc.

Super Saiyan 2 Gohan [Injured] - 900,000,000 or whatever.

He said his power level had dropped to less than half. I think what the story implied, however, was that he really did have all of his full power, he just wasn't confident enough to access it.

I never really believed that, especially since Vegeta had to step in to distract Cell.

Well, yeah, so Gohan could finally put out his full power in one big burst. With Cell distracted, he wouldn't be paying enough attention to counter it.

Yeah but if it weren't enough to finish Cell off despite the amount Cell was putting into the beam struggle, then it doesn't seem his injured strength would be above Cell like so many speculate.

The feeling I got from the struggle was the Kamehamehas were a few battle points/power levels away from each other give or take how many tenth places there were. So it's similar to the Goku and Vegeta struggle, relying on pushing power. Cell would be able to counteract Gohan's full pushing power still by that logic if Gohan was holding back.

So under that, injured Gohan is still weaker overall.

Cell's pushing power [CPP]
Gohan's pushing power [GPP]

Concentrating CPP - 50
Injured GPP - 25
Max Injured GPP - 40
Distracted CPP - 10

So when his guard was dropped his pushing power either dropped or remained the same but he wasn't able to raise it to counteract it. It could be either of those in my opinion.

I think those are the largest numbers, I've ever seen with only Herms' battle powers from a year ago being larger and they were meant as a joke.

He seems to be employing a theory where the 50x boost only applies to the first time you become a Super Saiyan, then after that it somehow causes a big base gain and reverts to only a 10x boost. So going by the real multiplier for SSj, Goku's base would be a little over 5 million, which would be appropriately realistic for the training time he spent off-world.

I realise it's mostly opinion and I may very well be wrong about this, but I don't really subscribe to the idea that small power gaps can make that big of a difference in a fight.

Raditz's official number is 1,500 and he's still stated to be rivaling a 1,200 Saibaiman after all. The gap between Kuririn and Nappa is over 2x and Kuririn could still make a fool out of him.

My numbers in the Cell arc are mainly so bloated because I believe there needs to be an utterly gargantuan gap for an opponent to tank punches or Ki attacks (8,000 Goku had to use Ki to blow away 4,000 Nappa's unamplified blast after all.)

I also follow all of the Base Saiya-jin implications, including Base Gotenks (Post) > SSjin Gotenks (Pre) > SSjin 3 Goku > Base Gotenks (Pre) > SSjin 2 Goku which unfortunately ends up bloating up my numbers to insane amounts.

It used to be even worse when I used the normal 50x boost and tried to keep Gohan-Boo above Base Vegetto instead of just going the Kaboom route and making him nigh-omnipotent.

I use a 10x SSjin multiplier due to the infamous Toriyama interview, to make Gotenks and Post Zeta Gohan implications work, and to make my numbers at least a little less bloated.

Base Goku would only be at 5,200,000 with the normal 50x multiplier.
