No, it is not the case. Overall, Son Goten is also a protagonist. Only in special cases protagonists do not appear in a midia such as this, this is not a special case. Son Goten must be in it, or it will be extremely odd.

I consider you extremely lucky. Would Goten being pummeled in the movie even be a good thing? Cause that's essentially what would happen to him if he takes part, just along the ride with everyone else.

It wouldn't surprise me if Freezer thought the situation is renewed: again being powerful enough so that Vegeta can't do anything except be one of his henchmen. It would be his idea of revenge against Vegeta: back to being my little soldier who would like to kill me so much but just can't and has to obey.

I am still unsure what to think concerning Freeza's super duper new form. When it comes to golden color I always associate that in Dragonball with the super saiyans. I hope we get an interview with Mr. Toriyama explaining his color choice. It has already been mentioned but Freeza's new look ironically makes me think of Cooler.

The main site says it's coined as "Utimate Evolution: Golden Freeza" in the article about the trailer. Given how Super Saiyans ended up blonde so they wouldn't have to work hard coloring in the hair and Super Saiyan God ended up red because it's a strong color, I wouldn't be surprised if his choice was as simple as "gold can be used to represent things of royalty as well as things that are holy," based of the Maximum the Hormone inspiration with the whole "godly transformation...transfiguration" or whatever the lyric is in "F".

If the "gold" is to be meant as a royal and somehow a godly thing, then it was just picking Blades of Athena coloration... Kratos wouldn't mind, though.

In God of War, they knew how to make gold be divine, Toriyama didn't.
