I was talking about how he could keep Yakon from taking his energy. If he's standing there just holding his mouth open, he's not doing much to defend himself. I'm not here to get into a power debate. And honestly, what we think of Yakon's strength doesn't matter. Unlike Dabura, we don't know how strong Yakon is. So the writer can have Gohan beat him if he wants. Don't cry "bullshit" just because it doesn't match up with your list.TheMightyOzaru wrote:K that still leaves the rest of us who think Yakon would crush Mirai Gohan in terms of raw power. I found the idea of Yakon's family finding him when he returns amusing, but I hope it doesn't lead to another Hanassia as others have said.

I think it's possible that Gohan could hold his own in a regular fight against Yakon, as long as we don't assume Goku became as strong as a Super Saiyan in Base form by Buu saga. Yakon had the edge when fighting Goku, but there didn't seem to be a huge difference between them. Sure, Kaioshin said he was tough, but he never seemed to have a clue what he was talking about.

I'm not sure why Yakon wouldn't just "eat" his energy, though, like he did with Goku.Kingdom Heartless wrote:I think it's possible that Gohan could hold his own in a regular fight against Yakon, as long as we don't assume Goku became as strong as a Super Saiyan in Base form by Buu saga. Salagir: As the story happens a few days before the "same arc" happened in universe 18 (DBZ), the transporting to Yakon's planet is different. He is at the same place, but Merkit was wandering around here today, and a few days after, was somewhere else (singing karaoke with her friends, some sources tell me). That's why Gokû and his friends didn't meet her.

Yakon's sister is pretty hot!
Jokes asisde, I hope there's a point of intoducing his sister and not just there for pointless story filler.

I'd totally hit it. Only not really.Scarz wrote:Yakon's sister is pretty hot!
The idea of Yakon being bullied by his older sister is kinda funny, but I am hoping there's a little more to how this works out than this.

I like this page. It's the kind of random humorous stuff that I could see Toriyama do (especially considering Battle of Gods).

Same here, which is why I'm kind of neutral at this exact moment. I want there to be more to this than just a gag, but if there's not - well, it was a pretty good and unexpected gag, that fits with the kind of thing Toriyama would do.Marco Polo wrote:I like this page. For this page; it's kind of cute. I dig it. The panel of Gohan on the bottom left looks good. I really don't have much to say.

oh my God and when you guys said Hanasia I was hoping there would be no way. And then this.
A bit Toriyama-like in the gag factor. Hopefully it's nothing more than that, though it looks like I'm wrong.
For all the flack that FUNimation gets on this forum for their quote about DBZ, there's some modicum of truth to it: a 9-year-old is born every day. Or in some cases, "reborn". DBZ may be a kids' show, but it's been so close to so many hearts all over Japan, America, and quite possibly, even the world.
Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
I'm unsure how to feel about this. When you only update sparsely, it's probably not a good idea to spend two pages on a cheap gag. But I don't think I want this to have more importance than that.

Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
I remember how much I hated the ending gag on one chapter because it took up like 6 or more pages and wasted time. I don't like the 3/4 page a week schedule. I think it should be 1 a day, then take a breather to work on the next. That way you can have all 24 pages done ahead of time, but released on a schedule that gives time for a break and more chapters to be released.Saiga wrote:I'm unsure how to feel about this. Try to imagine working according to such a schedule with 30-something translators (there are 30 language versions for DBM most of which have more than one translator). Almost nothing would be on time. I translate DBM into Polish and I'm immensly grateful that I can translate one page at a time and not the whole chapter in one bunch. Back when the first special chapters were introduced, Salagir would sometimes upload the whole chapter to the translator's control panel. I never had enough time to translate it all at once - what is more, I almost always translated it only some days before a relevant page was supposed to be up. So, I consider your proposition immensly impractical and hope that Salagir never adopts such a schedule.dbzfan7 wrote: I think it should be 1 a day, then take a breather to work on the next. Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
Well I mean there are breaks in between. With a 1 page a day and possibly a month until the next chapter, that leaves 2 months of space open. Malik on Da basically does that.Tzigi wrote:Try to imagine working according to such a schedule with 30-something translators (there are 30 language versions for DBM most of which have more than one translator). It's probably not a good idea to waste time on this special in the first place. I mean it's just going to come to come off as a shaggy dog story.Saiga wrote:I'm unsure how to feel about this. Random: I wish Cold's and Cooler's positions were swapped. That would make more sense and be more interesting, at least in my opinion. But for some reason Salagir wanks King Cold (cause screw canon, right?) and really doesn't like Cooler.

Herms wrote:The fact that the ridiculous power inflation is presented so earnestly makes me just roll my eyes and snicker. Like with Freeza, where he starts off over 10 times stronger than all his henchmen except Ginyu (because...well, just because), then we find out he can transform and get even more powerful, and then he reveals he can transform two more times, before finally coming out with the fact that he hasn't even been using anywhere near 50% of his power. Oh, and he can survive in the vacuum of space. All this stuff is just presented as the way Freeza is, without even an attempt at rationalizing it, yet the tone dictates we're supposed to take all this silly grasping at straws as thrilling danger. So I guess I don't really take the power inflation in the Boo arc seriously, but I don't take the power inflation in earlier arcs seriously either, so there's no net loss of seriousness. I think a silly story presented as serious is harder to accept than a silly story presented as silly.

Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
Of all the changes, King Cold is the one that annoys me the most. Not so much the confirmation that he was in a repressed form (easy enough to buy that) but that his max power in his final form was so much higher than Freeza's. Ok, messing with the details of the movies to make them fit? Fine, I can deal. Broly is super strong? Ya know what, it's actually more interesting and gives some context to his seemingly random differences from a "normal" Super Saiyan. Changing Bardock's backstory? Extremely silly since it just creates a needless contradiction but at least it's contained to just that TV Special.
But King Cold's max power being somewhere around Android 16? That change completely screws up everything that happened from Namek to the Androids. First, it makes Cold an idiot. He knows they're going to pick a fight with someone who was at least as strong as Freeza and nevertheless willingly decides to hold himself to a power that is not as high or barely better than this. Then, despite being in a series that always affords people time to transform, decides to forgo that and instead play some silly sword game with Trunks. And even worse, it changes the entire complexion of the Namek conflict. It stops being about a tyrannical overlord seeking immortality and becomes about a spoiled brat on a joyride through his father's empire who luckily was too stupid or proud to call daddy to save him when his flunkies started getting bumped off. Goku didn't save the universe from a tyrant by realizing a legendary power hidden deep inside him. He just got lucky that the real tyrant didn't show up to flatten him.
