Of course we needed another saiyan baby maker. I kid, I kid. She is pretty damn important to the plotLightBing wrote:Future Bulma is the one of the most impactfull characters in the series and the least recognized of them, by far!
Honestly, Bulma overall doesn't get enough credit for all she did in the series.

Re: Non-thread-worthy discussions
I wouldn't be surprised if Toriyama recolored Super Saiyan for F (firstly into white then into blue) just because he thought having two orange guys fighting one another would look boring.
When someone tells you, "Don't present your opinion as fact," what they're actually saying is, "Don't present your opinion with any conviction. Because I don't like your opinion, and I want to be able to dismiss it as easily as possible." Don't fall for it.

I think he thought that a movie without new transformations would it make less appealing to the audience.
Re: Non-thread-worthy discussions
Why are King Cold's and Coola's gem's blue? Is it because their older than Freeza?
Re: Non-thread-worthy discussions
But he gave a new one to Freeza, surely that counts enough?Noah wrote:I think he thought that a movie without new transformations would it make less appealing to the audience.
Plus a lot of the older Z movies hinged less on new forms being introduced as they were about which new bad guy Goku's gonna fight now.

He probably gave a new form to Freeza was it would make more convincing that he indeed was way stronger than before (even though it's bad explained).ekrolo2 wrote:But he gave a new one to Freeza, surely that counts enough?

Older Z movies didn't have Toriyama touch (which is not bad to me), so counting on BoG and RoF, movies that introduced new forms, Toriyama probably think this way.

Why does super saiyan look like it does?

Super Saiyan is a metaphor for fire, and is designed after a candle. Also, there's a story about it being easier on Toriyama's assistant.Gog wrote:Why does super saiyan look like it does?

Supposedly doing all black hair was quite tedious back in the day, having it white made things a lot more convenient.Jinzoningen MULE wrote:Super Saiyan is a metaphor for fire, and is designed after a candle. Re: Non-thread-worthy discussions
Super Saiyan God was present before Toriyama's rewrite. It just so happens he reworked its appearance. I find that there's no guarantee he'd develop Super Saiyan God from scratch like with Super Saiyan Blue's creation.Noah wrote:Older Z movies didn't have Toriyama touch (which is not bad to me), so counting on BoG and RoF, movies that introduced new forms, Toriyama probably think this way.

Re: Non-thread-worthy discussions
I've been getting back on track and marathoning DBZ where I left off back at early Namek arc and today I finally finished the Freeza arc.
Now people complain about its length and pointless padding, but honestly, watching the episodes back to back didn't annoy that much with the except of a moment or two. The only reason the Goku vs Freeza battle were dragged that long was due to the stuff happening on the sidelines. But when it was just Goku vs Freeza, it flowed rather smoothly. The episodes themselves didn't feel that long to be honest.
Of course, this is not like the fans who went through this on a weekly basis so more power to you all.

I'm on a GT rewatch, and I'm having a similar experience. The pacing isn't half as bad as everyone remembers and the episodes do a fantastic job at world-building while providing an entertaining narrative. I'm hoping the Baby and 17 Arcs end up being better than I remember, too.SHINOBI-03 wrote:I've been getting back on track and marathoning DBZ where I left off back at early Namek arc and today I finally finished the Freeza arc.

How does Kid Buu exist while evil Buu does?

Pure Boo isn't the same thing as Evil Boo. One is a ruthless animal, one is a creature of pure rage. If you're asking how Super Boo - Fat Boo = Pure Boo, your guess is as good as mine.Gog wrote:How does Kid Buu exist while evil Buu does?

It's especially baffling when you realize that technically evil Buu should be pure buuJinzoningen MULE wrote:Pure Boo isn't the same thing as Evil Boo. Re: Non-thread-worthy discussions
I think Whis debating on whether he has enough time to eat lunch while Goku fights Beerus and hit closing his eyes were awesome ways to create hype for the opponent. I remember when Hit closed his eyes towards Vegeta going SSB. The hype was through the roof.
Disclaimer: I might get into a disagreement with you. Sometimes I might even get feisty about it. I'll never harbor negative feelings because of it though. I hope you feel the same way!Jinzoningen MULE wrote: Maybe I should start making it a point not to comment when I'm not sure of something. Too many people know what they're talking about around here.
I made a bet with Alee9977 that Vegeta won't be beaten quickly by an opponent. If I lose, I switch my avatar to Vegeta getting beat by hit. If I win, he switches it to Vegeta holding Black by his hair. This will last a month.

I actually really want to see the original designs of Super Saiyan God. Probably will never see it, but I really want to see it.Nejishiki wrote:Super Saiyan God was present before Toriyama's rewrite.
