Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread
Even though I'm not really a fan of the manga, I can't say I'm not curious about the leaks that we'll see this week, I want to see Gogeta or no fusion, but I think it 93,68% sure that Vegetto will make an appearance.

I just want this saga to end already. Waiting another month for its end will be a pain. Of course, I hope it ends in a better way than the anime, leaving out that "living with yourselves" nonsense.

The Lord moves in mysterious ways but you don't have to. Please use your blinker

Doubt it, since the manga still has 2 Zenos in the next arcGrimlock wrote:I just want this saga to end already. Waiting another month for its end will be a pain. Of course, I hope it ends in a better way than the anime, leaving out that "living with yourselves" nonsense.

I made a bet with Alee9977 that Vegeta won't be beaten quickly by an opponent. If I lose, I switch my avatar to Vegeta getting beat by hit. If I win, he switches it to Vegeta holding Black by his hair. This will last a month.

Although I don't like the thought of existing two Zenos in the same timeline (actually I'm not even a fan of Zeno having alternate counterparts), I can live with it regardless. The same cannot be said about Trunks' ending. There are better ways to finish his story, in fact, one of them is what you may call a "masterpiece". Toei's ending for him is bullshit beyond imagination.OLKv3 wrote:Doubt it, since the manga still has 2 Zenos in the next arc

On the contrary, it actually makes total sense. Not a single time travel rule was broken in that ending, which I find hilarious! I can imagine Toriyama originally wrapping up the arc with the Zeno's meeting each other, only then to realize: "Damn! I forgot Trunks was still here!!! Umm... WHIS MAKE HIM A NEW TIMELINE!!!"Grimlock wrote:Toei's ending for him is bullshit beyond imagination.
That's probably total nonsense, but it 100% happened in my out-of-universe headcanon.

I don't know about masterpiece, but if it plays out the same way as the anime did, but instead Trunks/Mai are sent to Cell's original timeline (after Trunks is killed; I don't remember if Bulma was) somehow, would be wrapped up much neater IMO (assuming Whis/Beerus go there and seal/kill Zamasu or whatever).kinisking wrote:What way do you think would be a masterpiece ?Grimlock wrote:Although I don't like the thought of existing two Zenos in the same timeline (actually I'm not even a fan of Zeno having alternate counterparts), I can live with it regardless. Trunks's time machine was never destroyed in the manga since Goku Black didn't travel to the bast. But Cell's time machine is still stanched to his timeline. This is the kind of thing I wouldn't be surprised of Toyotaro picked up on and planned around, but it's by no means a guarantee.
Either way, we'll probably know in the next 24 hours (I think the arc ends this month).

It won't end yet, there's no way Toyotaro can end it this month while keeping the pace in-line with the rest of the arc, which he seems intent on doing. It'll be next month at the earliest, though I'm expecting it to end in June.Analytical Delusion wrote:Either way, we'll probably know in the next 24 hours (I think the arc ends this month).

You might be right. And frankly I don't mind it since it'll result in the arc being more fleshed out (and I'm pretty sure that nearly every episode since it finished in the anime is a Toei-exclusive, with the possible exception of the prelims, with no end in sight).Jinzoningen MULE wrote:It won't end yet, there's no way Toyotaro can end it this month while keeping the pace in-line with the rest of the arc, which he seems intent on doing. What do you think the end point of this chapter would be? Fusion/potara cliffhanger? Or maybe they fight quickly and fuse right away (though this would be disappointing, don't want to see it rushed), and Zeno is summoned on the last page?

I hope it ends this month. I'm expecting next month though. This month will probably end with vegito unfusing.

Unless he's actually going to flesh out details in a relevant way with Porta Fusion, Soul Zamasu, and the resolution I hope he ends next month. Well see how the rest of this will play out probably later today.

I think it'll end partway through Vegetto or when Vegetto defuses, leaving room to end things in the chapter afterwards. Toyotaro has raised his page count enough that I'm fairly confident it'll go that way, though I wouldn't be surprised if it went until July. Definitely not August, though, that would be absolute overkill.Analytical Delusion wrote:You might be right. What Toyotaro can cover depends entirely on the content of his adaptation. I know that seems like an obvious thing that shouldn't need to be said, but still. If he's not mirroring the anime with the final battle, he very well may be able to cover "more" in the chapter.
Honestly, I hope it wraps up this month, but realistically? I'd be more willing to bet that this chapter will end with the Zeno button being pulled out of Goku's pocket. Then next month will be Zeno oriented. We get the Future Trunks Arc finale in Part A of the chapter, and then move on to the start of the Universe Survival Arc in Part B.
The Zen Exhibition Match was probably a Toei addition, thus Toyotaro won't include it. Recruitment will likely be condensed to a couple of narrative panels, similar to the Super Shenlong summoning or Super Saiyan God ritual...except maybe for #17. He's the shiny, new hero character of the arc.

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread
Pacing-wise, if the manga follows even remotely similar beats to the anime, I'd rather see the arc take another two chapters, wrapping next month. I know people are anxious for it to end, but I'd rather have a story that feels coherent upon reread, which so far it's managed.
I agree the exhibition matches were likely a Toei addition, and the recruitment certainly doesn't need to be as detailed a process as it's been in the anime, so I'd expect the beginning of Toyotaro's Universal Survival story to feel comparatively brisk without getting into the summary territory of his Battle of Gods adaptation or the end of the Universe 6 arc. There's no reason nearly everything we've seen so far couldn't be replicated in one or two chapters.
