Discussion regarding the entirety of the franchise in a general (meta) sense, including such aspects as: production, trends, merchandise, fan culture, and more.

I hope it's not the latter, but ever since he gave up his roles as Bobbidi and Dr. Brief I've been worried he's just running out of energy. It makes me wonder exactly how long ago they finished recording the new episodes of Kai. I'm sure they finished the international episodes a while ago, but they presumably brought Yanami back into the recording booth later to record the new episode titles for the Japanese TV version.
I don't even know if he's currently acting in any other shows/movies. The only thing I've heard him in since 2012 is Dragon Ball.
If we can get one line of narration from him in the final film, I'll be happy. Just please give us that.

Yeah, the re-casting was a nasty first sign. His narration's gotten slower and slower lately, so I'm wondering if he reached a point where he felt like his pride was crushed and has bowed out. Just one line to keep his record going would suffice!

I don't know what came out after, but either Movie 14 and Jaco were the last good things which came from Toriyama. Maybe Movie 15 will also be good, but the same can't be said about Freeza's new form.
I never liked some of either freeza or cells forms. During serialization, Toriyama had the advantage of reacting to the audience or his editors as he made things and changing them. This isn't the case since he can't go oh wait he can evolve even further. So in other words, nobody's perfect. Except I guess uhm, perfect cell.
I like Frieza's new transformation.
I'm relieved they didn't use a pumped up more tough looking form like Cooler's final form. The whole point of Frieza's last transformation on Namek was that it didn't look like much but was actually more powerful than his previous monstrous forms. The new golden look seems in the vein of SSJGod. Simple but powerful.
Oh, to sip from the cup of eternity and fly free on wings of immortality!

That would be pretty awesome. But I don't see Goku losing against the main villain/antagonist for the second movie running.
Spoiler:
Akira Toriyama wrote:My policy is to try and forget things once they’re over. Since if I don’t discard the old and focus on what’s new, I’ll overload my brain capacity. I still haven’t lived down going, “Who the heck is Tao Pai-pai?” that one time I was talking with Ei’ichiro Oda-kun. But the fact that there are still people reading the series after all this time… All I can say is; “thank you.” Really, that’s all.

And that you also have IMMENSELY skewed and comically backwards priorities in what you think is most important and needed to make a good Dragon Ball story.

I like it, though I can see the colors being too bright/bold for extended viewing. Never was a huge fan of Freeza's 2nd/3rd forms, so it's nice that this is in line with his 1st/4th.

It's wishful thinking. I'd like to see it happen, too.

Tell me sir, what is the bad thing in want a story with consistency, continuity and without plot holes?

We haven't seen a single shot of Vegeta with battle damage, or of him fighting Freeza, which makes me think that might be in the next movie. And there's also Ryūsei Nakao's comment about watching until the very end of the movie, "and then maybe once more".

I feel like some people are so bothered about continuity and consistency so much that it is stopping them from enjoying these new films, just enjoy these for what they are guys!
