To be honest, I'd prefer that to yet another transformation.
...Which is why, design aside, I'm a little disappointed that Freeza got one.

The point is, if you didn't see his message before you replied, all you need to say is "I didn't see his message before I replied". You don't need to add the "he's not my mom" bit. That's not adding anything.

I think you’ll understand if you watch [the movie], but Goku has already absorbed [Super Saiyan] God’s power and made it his own, so there is no need for him to transform into [Super Saiyan] God.

Then again, Toriyama has commented that Super Saiyan 1 will probably stick around.
We don't know what role it will play yet, or if it will even have any benefit.

Goku endlessly keeps getting stronger, with Super Saiyan 3 in the manga and Super Saiyan 4 in the anime; does Super Saiyan keep getting limitlessly stronger too? Might we eventually see things such as a Super Saiyan 5…?!
Super Saiyan 2 and 3 are nothing more than powered-up variations of Super Saiyan. After the fight with Beerus, Goku realized that mastering his normal state and Super Saiyan would raise his level more and sap less strength, so I think he probably won’t become Super Saiyan 2 or 3 any more.

From what we've heard Goku won't go SSJ in this movie, but they never said Vegeta wouldn't (At least I don't think they did?)

That's not lame. I actually like how he's reverting the characters back to the days before he had transformations over transformations each more out there than the last.

Plus as it's been made clear Base Goku is practically just Super Saiyan God Goku now. All the power but the same appearance.

No it won't. It's like Gohan's Mystic power when turning Super Saiyan makes no difference.

I don't know about anyone else, but I'm mostly interested in this henchman who supposedly can smack down Piccolo and may or may not have beaten Gohan. He was like some red devil-man in saiyan/soldier armor.

That's now how it works, apparently. Your logic makes sense. It's just the creator has pretty much outright stated that Goku will never use SSJ2 and SSJ3 again due to absorbing god form. Sources are implying he may not even go SSJ in this movie.

Why? No clue...but apparently, transforming does not power up Goku anymore. Basically, he's the same as Gohan in the end of the Buu saga...

I'm surprised that people here didn't know Golden Freeza is the actual name.

I didn't know it until I read the website, although this is entirely because I wasn't paying attention to the text in the trailer and just the dialogue. I didn't think he even had a name for his new form. It does feel pretty Toriyama-ish to just up and say "Crud, can't think of a name. Let's just call him 'Golden Freeza'!" Which now has me hoping there will be some Golden Week...oh, God. This is why the movie is coming out during Golden Week!! O.o

The name for the form absolutely sucks.

It's almost as bad as Kid Buu, Ultimate Gohan, Piccolo (Fused with Nail/Kami).

I honestly don't even know what you guys are/were expecting. This is the series where forms are pretty much called "Ultimate" and "Super" and some of the most basic adjectives in the dictionary. Calling him "Golden Freeza" is pretty much par the course. Look at all the names of the Super Saiyan forms. Aside from God (Which is literally just Super Saiyan with Godlike powers), they're all just named 1, 2, 3, and 4.

Yes it is lame, Super Saiyan is the essence of DBZ... Remember the teaser? Toriyama want us to simply forget about Super Saiyans we used to love to push us to accept those new Mystic Saiyans and taking Gohan title making him look like a pussy when he should be one of the strongests in the Universe

SSJs are a staple in this series. It's probably the single most iconic thing about it. To remove it from the characters that matter is unbelievable.

I'm hoping for Goku and Vegeta to get beaten down, only to reveal that they've been holding back for training purposes. Then, BAM, SSJs with unique auras to symbolize their god powers.

Exactly Toriyama is just ass pulling everything at this point, Since Frieza would be so weak even after training for 4 months lets just additionally nerf goku and vegeta and make him fight frieza in their base form only. Crap villian, crap movie, cant wait for the new one where hopefully we get to see Goku fight other gods in the other universe and not another villain being resurrected.
