I'm loving the fact that we've already got three basic re-writes that are more interesting and sensible than the one by Salagir. Thus, proving yet again, that he has no writing skills or talent whatsoever. He just burps out whatever he feels is cool and calls it a day.

It' s your point of view. Mine is that I've read through all those rewrites and consider them inferior to his. And I think that each one of us is entitled to their own opinion and should not make such demeaning statements about others. I strongly dislike your rewrites but I'd feel bad if I were to say that you have "no writing skills or talent whatsoever" - not necessarily because I disagree with this statement but because I think that it would be unpleasant to you.

So would you rather be condescending and cynical instead of honest? Maybe I would be nicer about him if he wasn't so arrogant.

He does have no writing talent, this is no lie or exaggeration. His story is terribly bland and boring, the high points of it were written by other people; he halts the story at the worse possible points leaving horrible cliffhangers; the dialogue is out-of-character and cheesy; it's littered with "mary-sue" types even though he has an actual Mary Sue to make fun of just that, that is so arrogant it makes my blood boil; he leaves gaping plot-holes everywhere, does not follow any sort of logic both in and out-universe; he writes in things out of whim because he thinks it will look cool, no matter how much he contradicts the source material; he condemns Dragon Ball GT for being a bastardization of the original series when he is doing exactly the same thing if not worse.

I'm not even done yet, and this is all just about the main series, I'm not even going to touch the specials, let alone his attitude towards his own fans.

Let's just say that, in sum, Salagir has no talent as a writer, this is the truth, whether you like it or not.

Which is interesting, since my 'rewrite' was literally the same events with a couple bits of motivation for why Babidi would drain Dabura...

I would do it that way, everything is going like in special, until Gohan destroy spaceship, Babidi send Dabura to fight him, Gohan, realising that Dabura is also victim of Babidi magic, use Tayo-ken, to quickly dispatch Babidi, Dabura, grateful that Gohan released him, decide to leave Earth peacefully, taking Buu ball with him, or destroy it.

That actually makes sense. Dabra is the king of the demon realm, that doesn't mean he has any beef with Earth at all. He probably doesn't even give two shits about the living world, let alone a puny little planet.

My fan fiction kind of used that idea  (not exactly as it was described, though).

There is something wrong with Kibito eyes, like he didn`t get enough sleep. Looks like there will be one more page in Friday.

They're just now noticing something? "Was seen"? Does that imply someone other than Kaioshin and Kibito was watching him? Do they even know he's dead yet?

Gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah *brain implodes from this special*

Yeah what a hero! *dies against severely inferior foes later* :D . I honestly fail to see why Babidi took Dabura's energy when he knows full well that Dabura would crush Kaioshin...

We need an internet Meme about Gohan beating Dabura and then losing to the Androids.

Kaiohshin would be strong enough to kill #17 and #18 if they came down to Earth. I bet the final page will be a cut & paste scene of Gohan's death from the Trunks special.

What really makes me laugh is the narrator saying how Gohan "proved he was a worthy successor".

Yes, totally worthy. Who else would've made the genius plan of having a nemesis who inexplicably makes his own henchmen weaker? Who else possibly could've shown off the guile and power Gohan did to win here? I mean god, look at him- do you see how he stood there and did nothing while the villains sabotaged themselves for no reason? What a guy.

He's probably referring to the Bardock special. Zarbon was the one who first recommended destroying Planet Vegeta because the saiyans were rapidly growing in strength.
It was actually Beerus disguised as Zarbon #StayWoke
Herms wrote:The fact that the ridiculous power inflation is presented so earnestly makes me just roll my eyes and snicker. Like with Freeza, where he starts off over 10 times stronger than all his henchmen except Ginyu (because...well, just because), then we find out he can transform and get even more powerful, and then he reveals he can transform two more times, before finally coming out with the fact that he hasn't even been using anywhere near 50% of his power. Oh, and he can survive in the vacuum of space. All this stuff is just presented as the way Freeza is, without even an attempt at rationalizing it, yet the tone dictates we're supposed to take all this silly grasping at straws as thrilling danger. So I guess I don't really take the power inflation in the Boo arc seriously, but I don't take the power inflation in earlier arcs seriously either, so there's no net loss of seriousness. I think a silly story presented as serious is harder to accept than a silly story presented as silly.

I'm sure it took a lot of strength to not simply go "Huuuh guys..? What are you doing?"

We need an internet Meme
Nobody ever needs Internet memes. (If anything we need less of them.)

Not bashing the pictures that were linked here, since I didn't even look at them... just talking about memes in general. Which are terrible.

According to a post on TV Tropes, Salagir didn't write this special himself, he adapted it from a fanfic on the DBM website. In that version, Dabra isn't just weakened by Babidi draining him - he straight up dies.

I like the re-writes, Rocketman, Kaboom and TDC, but I think I'm in the camp of just not telling the story. :P

Funnily, sometime before this special started I wrote a fanfic that had Babidi drain Dabra to power Boo's ball. This special has made me reconsider continuing that, somewhat...
I'm re-watching Dragon Ball GT in full on my blog. Check it out if you're interested in my thoughts on the series as I watch through it!
