Movie 8? As in the first Broly movie? The Z fighters get their asses handed to them. Everyone seems to be either Cell Games level or so (Vegeta, Trunks, etc.) or weaker (possibly Goku, at least slightly... but especially Gohan) in that movie.

If it was "Movie 9 [Bojack] but with no SSj2 Gohan" I could see them having better chances, but even then, probably getting beaten pretty badly since they don't have Goku to help out at that point. Having a full-strength SSj Gohan around (rather than the weirdly weaker-than-the-other-Saiyans one from the Broly movie) would definitely help some, though, assuming he didn't get into "I don't want to fight" mode--the problem would be that he'd be the only one there who could reliably beat them, and I don't know if Gohan could handle a bunch of them on his own without SSj2 (and he'd probably have to, since Vegeta or Trunks might be able to take out a single Cell Jr. with a lucky hit from one of their stronger blasts, but they'd be too worn out afterward to do much to any of the others that were still left.)

One Cell Jr solos the Z-gang if they don't use Toei Energy Sharing like in movies 4, 8, and 14 (plus GT).

If it's their Cell Games incarnations, then SS Gohan could probably solo them by himself.

He's probably referring to the Bardock special. Zarbon was the one who first recommended destroying Planet Vegeta because the saiyans were rapidly growing in strength.
It was actually Beerus disguised as Zarbon #StayWoke

Base Bojack easily defeated Vegeta without uncrossing his arms. He stomps the Cell Jr.

Yes I was referring to that movie, I also feel they were below their cell games counterparts. Toei must have just assumed since Gohan was newest to the form he should be the weakest super saiyan. I chose match up because I feel Gohan from the cell games and beyond would be too much with the others help.

I think Bojack wins easily in this form and slightly less so in base form.

What? That never happened.

Bojack battles Vegeta for some time, with punches, kicks, and energy struggles. He even goes super to finish him.

Bojack's power is difficult to measure because of how little sense the movie makes. Ssj gohan struggles and ultimately loses to bojack's gang, who're all weaker than ssj trunks and vastly weaker than bojack.

Yet, when gohan turns ssj2, suddenly he defeats everyone in a single effortless blow.

The only way I can make sense of this is by assuming that bojack's super transformation is more astetic than anything.

So I imagine that the bojack we saw fighting with vegeta for a while, isn't much weaker than super bojack.

And cell jr seemed to have been toying with vegeta (iirc) so I imagine they're in the same ballpark.

He goes super to show off. He didn't need it to beat a half-dead base Vegeta. He was having no trouble with Vegeta, and clearly wasn't using any effort. He's smiling the whole time and smacking Vegeta around like he's nothing, while Vegeta can't even land a hit. Heck, he beats him so hard he reverts back to base.
And cell jr seemed to have been toying with vegeta (iirc) so I imagine they're in the same ballpark.
The Cell Jr is never implied at any point to be toying with him, is stated to be fighting evenly with him by Cell, and is stated in Daizenshuu 7 to have equal power to Vegeta.

The jump from SS to SS2 is quite big, yes. And we don't know that all of Bojack's henchmen are weaker than Trunks. Kogu certainly was, but Zangya was at least equal, and Bujin and Bido are possibly stronger.

Didn't Cell at one point told them to stop playing around and go for the kill when they felt like it? And even then Vegeta was "barely" fighting evenly.

It would take literally just a few seconds for the Cell Juniors to finish off Kuririn, Ten, and Yamcha, and only a minute or so for Piccolo and worn-out Goku to meet the same fate. Suddenly, Vegeta and Trunks are getting swarmed by multiple Cell Juniors each and are likewise doomed.

Here are some Match-Ups:
  • Hypothetical Super Saiyan Vegeta (Arrival of Trunks) vs. Mecha Freeza (Full Power) & King Cold (Full Power)

Piccolo (Android Saga/Pre-Fusion) vs. Super Saiyan Goku (Arrival of Trunks)

Hypothetical Ascended Super Saiyan Vegeta (Android Saga) vs. Piccolo (Kami Fusion)

Piccolo (Kami Fusion), Android 17, & Android 18 (All Together) vs. Imperfect Cell (Humans Absorbed)

Vegeta loses. I don't even think he caught up with base Namek Goku yet, since he was only training for two years (without a gravity room), and Goku was in a different dimension back then. He might win if it's just him vs 100% Cyborg Freeza, despite the slight power disadvantage, but throwing King Cold in there makes it hopeless.

Goku, as I've never seen a convincing reason to have Piccolo that insanely strong. Tens of times stronger than every base saiyan, sure, but stronger than Yardrat Goku is really pushing it, especially since Trunks was stronger than Piccolo in the android arc despite only having eight months of training with no sparring partners, gravity rooms, or zenkais.

Vegeta would be stronger. 17 wasn't THAT much stronger than Vegeta, as 18 was basically equal to him and Vegeta managed to last a while against her. Piccolo could have a chance at winning if he tries to outlast Vegeta by taking advantage of SSG2's strain, but I'd say Vegeta wins more often than not.

Cell was beating up 17 and Piccolo at the same time effortlessly. Piccolo couldn't even hurt him. Throwing in another piece of fodder who's actually weaker than either of those guys will make no difference. He'll just have to throw four more punches.

I put Movie 8 Broli around Cell Jr level. So they all lose in my opinion.

Seems about right. After all, he was defeated in one punch by a SSJ1.

Seeing as we have Majin SSJ3 Vegeta in DB Heroes, how do you think he would have fared against Fat Buu?

that's actually relatively tricky.

SSJ3 Vegeta would be stronger than Fat Buu in terms of raw power (probably) but Buu's incredible durability would mean that Vegeta would have to expend a hell of a lot of power to beat him. I'd probably give Vegeta a 70/30 chance of beating him, but Vegeta's arrogance is always an achilles heel for him.

Note: Does Goku state he can beat Fat Buu but wanted to leave it to the next generation? I honestly can't remember.

Yep. He lied about it before to hype up Gotenks, but later admits that he could have taken out Fat Boo all along if he'd wanted to. So if he could do it, then SS3 Vegeta could, too.

Which is further proven when Goku arrives on the lookout and claims there was very little difference between his power and Vegeta's.

SSJ Kid Trunks vs Cell Jr. ?

In movie 10 Gohan is surprised Goten and Trunks were able to survive so long with Broly implying Movie 8 Broly > SSJ Kid Trunks
Canon is Jaco, Dragon Ball except for EoZ, Dragon Ball Super anime and manga (both are separate canons)
Kai >>> Z
Current Roshi/Kulilin >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> SSJ3 Gotenks

I figure the Super Saiyan kids fall somewhere right between Piccolo and SS Trunks or Vegeta at the Cell Games. So Trunks would fare better against a Cell Junior than Piccolo did, but maybe not be able to "fight evenly" against it like Vegeta or his future self did.
