Who did RB2? -I don't keep up with developers....but there were trophies in the RB series where you had to play like 50 online matches and get a crazy number of online titles.

Spike obviously. The thing is though, you could get those trophies/achievements with a friend. It wasn't that hard.

That always happens... Every damn time. I realise the fandom isn't some kind of hive-mind but it's still funny to watch such a sway in popularity

It reminds me of the Halo and Sonic fanbase.

They beg and beg for something, they get it, and they either complain about it, or complain about how they did it wrong.

If they do something that was asked by the fanbase and they do it wrong, it's fair to let them know what and how that thing was done wrong.
...But the only thing we know about this Character Creator feature...is that it may or may not exist :?

We're allowed to express our opinion about how we want this feature that doesn't exist yet to be like...right?

I'm not saying you all shouldn't, but it humors me.

Apparently I didn't go into so much detail about complaining that they did it wrong. Usually they ask for something in a specific way, the company does it in such a way, then people complain they did it wrong.

I'm trying to make it sound sensible. I can't word it correctly.

I can see how some of the posts regarding the feature can seem like complaining about something before the fact. But given the history with Spike and Dragon Ball games, the i'm reading most of them, it's mostly genuine concerns.

Examples:
Sparking NEO: "Yay, we have free roam!!!" "Oh...it's just flying like in Legacy of Goku 2"
Sparking METEOR: "YAY, we have over 100 characters!!!" "Oh....most of them kinda play the same....and have the same Super moves even..."
Raging Blast: "Wow, the graphics look amazing, and look just like an anime!!!" "Wow...the camera really sucks....and unlocking everything here is a bitch....and the controls changed for no reason..."
Raging Blast 2: "They fixed the camera!" "Why do the characters look like cheap shiny clay models now, though? That looks nothing like the manga, anime, or anything in-between..."

Possible Example:
Ultimate Tenkaichi: "We finally have a character creator!!!" "Oh...it was just a clever wording for creating a new look for pre-existing characters and customize more items...."

They have this precedent of going out of their way to fix something....at the expense of 2 or 3 other things that were fine as is. Some of us want this to be a "DBO-ish" Character Creator.....but since when have we gotten what we wanted without having something taken or just being half-assed?

Not read through this thread fully yet, but I get the gyst of it.
Spikes final game eh? Thank fuck.
I could ask for a game which polishes up all the problems with the previous games, and give us a truly authentic Dragon Ball feel. Doubt they'll put that much effort in though (nor do I suspect they're capable of doing so), so I guess we're just getting a different aesthetic and a character creator.
Smooth.

I'm honestly not expecting an actual "Character Creator" à la the WWE or Tony Hawk games as most of us are imagining, but something more of a extreme version of the customization in Ultimate Butouden. Perhaps something along the lines of using the already existing characters and customize their appearance, fighting style, moves, etc.

By the way, wasn't it said in one of the interview clips that CAC was not going to be in this game?

I was actually watching the 4th part of the interview with Spike and they brought up (among a lot of interesting things) the character creation.

At first they covered it with a conversation about it having more costumes, but when they were asked again about character creation the answer was: "Mmmmmm" (it seemed like they wanted to say that it was, but couldn't say it)

That "hmmmmm" pretty much confirmed it.

Huh, I could of swore in another part of the interview that the answer was no...

Either way, I would love to see a Character Creator happen in this game! :D It could boost up sales quite a bit.

I complain as well because the fact that the same developer that's been producing the games over a course of 7 years does not manage (for whatever reason?!) to put in all things that have been like they were in the anime. It's frustrating.

But that doesn't change the fact that I will give the new game a shot. It looks delicious. And although I think that I won't like this new kind of gameplay as much as the typical free BT/RB gameplay I will try it out no matter what. It's something different and that should be appreciated.

Time will tell how this game will make it..
Yeah your never gonna be satisfied. Keep on hoping though.
It's just that they have everything already done and just need to put it in the games. I know I don't know anything about coding and programming but I think that modelling something after an outlet is way easier than doing something from scratch.

And yes hope dies last.
Which is my point, you don't know or have the current skill set of what it takes to make these games. I am taking programming classes and I can say I have been humble by the experience. Its one thing to criticize and suggest, its another to say they should be able to do it when you don't know how to do it yourself or know the process or what skill sets they possess. One thing I learned is sometimes doing from scratch is better sometimes it not. It depends entirely on the situation.

Yes, unless you add the body/hairstyle customization to the costumes and super...

Early Goku has a less adult-like body than Mid and Late...
Then the hairstyles for base SSJ and FP SSJ should be as different as you all know...

So make me choose Goku's look, hairstyles, costumes and supers and it's better than Early, Mid and Late..
Well in Raging Blast 1 and 2 Goku's second costume has the pre-Rosat hair with the big chuncks and he's in his Freeza saga gi. As far as Goku's body looking different thats mostly because Toriyama's art style was getting more detailed, so I dont think thats really worth having a seperate character for though I guess it could be a "skin".

Nah man you got the wrong idea, the people that you see down playing the "Character Creater" have been against it since forever. I dont know how long you've been following this forum but theres always a division between those who want and those who dont want Create a Fighter.

I myself am all for it, but if it fails the blaime doesn't go to the fans, it doesnt go to the franchise either it all falls on Spike. If they want to renew there contract or hope to boost sails or even just go out with a bang with out the crash and burn then they better nail this right. They know how long fans have been asking for this and hopfully this is something they've been working on for a while now and saved it just for this moment when there contract is about to expire. I'm not asking for some super indepth Smackdown versus Raw type thing just some at the very most along the lines of Saints Row 2 or something, really Spike just dont drop the ball on this.

I'd prefer 'Stage Creation' over 'Character Creation' to be honest.

Well come to think of it, a character creation mode makes since, wasn't there something about a special mode or something? I bet thats the character creation mode. As for the QTE's from what I am reading they are turn off-able.

Perhaps the QTEs are a deafult setting for beginners and maybe more advanced players can turn it off and learn the button combonation to perform the actions from the QTE list.
