It's kinda crazy that they'd go for Piccolo over Gohan, as I mean, even with an incredibly rusty fighting sense, I would have though that RoF showed that he's still in a different ball-park to Piccolo in terms of strength. Surely it'd be better to have a rusty Gohan rather than a total weak link like Piccolo, who toiled with a guy like Shisami?

The obvious solution, however, is that Piccolo gets to train with Whis or something - which as a Piccolo fan is a pretty great prospect in my eyes.

Wouldn't it just be a total hoot if Buu shows no interest in joining and Gohan gets dragged away from his books?

Broly is doesn't exist in that timeline. Bardock is dead by either Frieza or Old Age.

That's fucking awesome. Nothing more to say about it, Toriyama still got it.

I'm really curious about the last fighter, hope he has a very good design and he will probably be the best fighter of U7, so I hope he really is an interesting character. And he won't be a Saiyan, or else Beerus wouldn't have been surprised a Saiyan beat Freezer, and he wouldn't need to look around for a Super Saiyan God so it's impossible he's a Saiyan.
He will probably have God Ki though.

And Vegeta's idea of a written test to rule out 'dumb monsters" also avoids the possibility of things like Yakon joining the tournament from Champa's side, which can only be a good thing.

I think that may be a gag. I mean, sure, Vegeta is portrayed as being pretty cunning and tactically-minded, but he doesn't come across as being the written-test sort of guy.

If anything, I guess Gohan would probably handle that best of anyone!

I bet it's gonna be something simple, like 'write your name", that as long as one can read and write, it's ok. Goku will struggle but will be fine.

The manga will probably gloss over moments like that, but i can see the anime having a field day with Goku taking the test.

As much as I like Gohan I can't say I'd pick him over Picolo or Buu so it's great they made it in.

I can't wait to see who this new character will be and hopefully the u6 fighters will all be new as well or at least 2 or 3 of them.

Could be... With this new information that line seems to be foreshadowing. Which, if true, would make the new character an ancient being. Only the Gods have more than 900 years, Namekians I think get to 400 years. Maybe it's an Makaioshin. One can dream.
