And DBKaiHD, you're really sounding like Gokuden now.
DBKaiHD is really pissing me off. He's taking everything I say as an insult for no good reason.

OK, everybody just calm down. I think we're all getting a bit excited over this release... It's tearing us apart! :P

I think they should drop the Faulconer music audio track.

Flame me all you want, but its only purpose was placeholders because they weren't able to license the Japanese music.
I'm in full agreement and I THINK most of the users here are too... Though I'm interested to see what they do with the English audio track...

I don't think they'll do anything new...
unless... if the Gods were to smile on us... they do a whole new translation that is closer to what is actually being said XD

FUNi did get a lot better with the translations 'n all but there are large portions of dialog still a bit "dumbed" down for whatever censorship/child pleasing reasons

If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say it at all. I aint going to listen to your tiresome talk any longer. At first, I thought you were a nice guy. But now you are just a jerk.
First, I'm a girl.
2nd, you used MY images, why am I not allowed to say something about them?

I'm just making comments, I'm not going "OH MY FUCKING GOD, WHY DID YOU DO THAT!?!? YOU FUCKING SUCK!!!"
You seem to be taking normal comments that I'm making and going uber-defensive on them for absolutely no reason.
Your attitude is what I didn't like at all. When I posted some images with different color, I expect people to have soime good opinion on them. Instead you asked me what's the point in that and it's going to be yellow. Do you really think I'm that dumb? It's kinda offensive to me. I KNOW it's going to be yellow. It doesn't hurt to have some images with different colors post here, does it? You can see why I felt a little bit defensive toward you.

Seriously ask yourself, is this worth getting in trouble over? Would both of you please calm down. It's okay, just let it go.

If you're gonna put something on the internet, expect more than just positive opinions on it.

Getting back on topic, what do you think of the clean-up that I did for your pic?

Droppin' $80 for 40episodes or so... Oi XD
Gotta be hardcore ;)

But if its coming out later this year AND they just announced it AND they have a price and date...
they'll probably just apply all master dub recordings on top of the new pretty pictures and say it IS for the hardcore fans :-/

Really lookin more forward to the original DB though...
Not sure to buy the new season sets or wait it out for the possible Dragon Box sets for that....

Let me have my delusions... Umm... Ummm... maybe they double-recorded lines and knew they were going to get the Dragon Box??? ...Yeah... there's no way... Though maybe they waited until they had enough re-recorded to announce it? Okay, we're probably just getting the regular old dub audio... I'll live.

If anything I hope they change on the English track, I hope they have an English Cha-la. I swear on the trailer, I could hear some kind of new version of Cha-La, right when it starts off before Vegeta screams a bunch of badass words. That really has to be Chris Sabbats best Vegeta performance ever. But did anybody else hear that semi Cha-la like music, was it just me, or some weird music Funi placed into the trailer?

It's just random music. The beginning kinda sounds like Cha-La, but that's it.

It was reminiscent of Cha-La, which was the whole point.

Something tells me that in promotional materials, FUNi can't use Cha-La or the original music. Why would they go through the trouble of creating something that sounds LIKE Cha-La, but isn't?

There has to be something to this. It would be a no-brainer to include it on a trailer aimed at "hardcore" fans.

For the record, I raised a dissenting voice towards the trailer on the IRC chat the day it was revealed, and was promptly flamed by everyone else in there. It's good to see some similar opinions, even from Mike himself. I hate when people sugar-coat or damage control things just because of the fanboy inside them. A bad trailer is a bad trailer, period. Just because it's the Dragon Box doesn't give them a free pass.

I just wanted to point something out. $80 is cheap for 42 episodes of quality anime. Naruto sets usually cost $30 for 13 episodes, and there's no hardcover book in those sets. These sets are actually pretty good deals.

Oh, and happy 20th birthday to me. :)

Etc...
Totally agreed. It's time they at least try to phase out the dub score entirely and make the original music the standard for the dub, like it always should have been.

Can't bring myself to read through everything that has been said here already, so I'm just going to ask it:

Has anyone considered that FUNi might be intending to mess with the footage somehow? I know the rep at Otakon said they won't (and he seemed more convincing than any of their previous reps and what they've said), but saying they won't do something hasn't stopped them from doing it in the past.

For the DBZ season sets, they said they were using a certain set of film masters, and what they meant was "we're using these film masters as the body for our remastering". They say they're using the Dragon Box masters, but they didn't say they're A) using them for the final product or B) using them as-is.

I really, really don't think this is what is going to happen (and even more so hope this isn't what is going to happen), I'm only saying it in case the one-in-a-million chance happens, and something like this does come to fruition... and I'll finally be able to say I predicted a major upset. Or am I missing something?

No. You aren't missing anything. I really do hope Funimation will leave Dragon Box the final product. This will be my last time I'm letting them get my wallet open.

After that, they could start dubbing Dragon Ball Kai. I like Kai a lot more because of filler-free. The fillers are getting on my nerve. There really no point in broadcasting these fillers anymore now that manga has been completed. We already have these on Dragon Box and Season sets. So, I'm going for Kai.

Anyway, back on topic. I, like you, really do hope they will get it right this time or there are going to be major messy situation for Funimation. So much so that they will wish they never were born. Funimation is walking on thin line now.

I can't really see FUNi dropping the US Broadcast track, and I'm not just saying that because I wouldn't want them to. I'm sure tons of casual fans will still get hold of this, especially if FUNi will advertise this as another NEW DEE BEE ZEE EXPERIENCE!(100x more exclamation points). It would seem risky for FUNi to implement the ENG w/ JAP BGM as the new standard dub track just because it hasn't even had a full two years to shine in its own right. I doubt brick seasons 2-9 were selling so well because of the new track. Personally, I hope FUNi could squeeze in the US Broadcast and ENG w/ JAP BGM tracks without harming the picture quality just to cover all ground, and to finally have that near-perfect American release.
Gohan: At least he doesn't have his sword out anymore.
Kuririn: Yeah, and your dad put his finger away too.

I can't see them harm the picture quality because the Dragon disc have very little space remaining. Unless the discs have evolved and are able to comprise all these stuff into dragon discs, I can't see them having ENG with ENG track. It would surprise me if they do that.

Why wouldn't Funimation use the original background music? You mean for the Engrish dub? That would be completely stupid on their part. If they can do it for Ball and GT, I don't see why they can't for Z.
