Looks like U16 Bra became exactly what Chi Chi was afraid Gohan would be, a delinquent.

She shouldn't call her dad "dickhead".
James Teal (Animerica 1996) wrote:When you think about it, there are a number of similarities between the Chinese-inspired Son Goku and that most American of superhero icons, Superman. Both are aliens sent to Earth shortly after birth to escape the destruction of their homeworlds; both possess super-strength, flight, super-speed, heightened senses and the ability to cast energy blasts. But the crucial difference between them lies not only in how they view the world, but in how the world views them.
Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. The more down-to-earth Goku has no illusions about being responsible for maintaining social order, or for setting some kind of moral example for the entire world. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.
I dunno, it doesn't seem so out of character for this Bra to me. A little harsh on the language choice, maybe, but...she seems rather appropriately pissed (though I'd venture to say she's actually more angry at him for losing a match he shouldn't have, than she is about him missing her fight).
Okay, so we skipped a few other fights to get to Bardock and Cold fighting when Vegetto came back in, and I imagine it'll flash back to the other fights anyway - but anyone care to refresh my memory? What fights did we 'miss'?

Am I the only one who likes that Bra called him a dickhead? He doesn't really seem to be the greatest of fathers and she is at that rebellious age. Honestly, I'd probably have more of an issue with it if she kept treating him nice and with respect after everything; he doesn't really deserve it IMO, regardless of if he's her father or the most supreme of beings.

My personal "canon" and BP list. (Coming Soon)
I don't mind Bra's rebellious attitude, in fact, I kind of like it. I just don't want that character trait to be taken so far that you begin to dislike her. The "Dickhead" comment was just an odd choice.

We missed...
#18 vs Arale
Gotenks vs. NekoMajin
Boo vs. Tenshinhan
Son Bra vs. Eleim

Ooh, we missed some hopefully really entertaining fights then. Really hoping we do get to flash back and see how those fights went, and who won them.
If I had to venture a guess though, we're probably looking at #18, Gotenks, Boo, and Bra moving on, though I could see Arale or NekoMajin making a win come out of nowhere somehow.

That's the translator's fault. The French version uses "boulet". That doesn't like such an offensive word. In the Portuguese version the translator used "Idiota" instead (idiot).

I say we list what is actually interesting since a lot of this story is just getting boring. I used to be eager to check out these pages, now i'm just going in with a "meh" feeling.
I want to know more about Zen Boo (I also want to see SSJ3 Vegetto vs Zen Boo)
I want to know what happened between U13 Kakarotto and Krillin
I want to see how strong Cell is and have a Gohan vs Cell rematch to settle a tie breaker. Why did you turn down an awesome fight Gohan? (yes I know why but still it would be more interesting to see it)
I want to know more about the Ginyu situation
Bardock just foresaw a doomsday moment and doesn't do anything annoys me. Make him try and do something.
I'm probably missing a lot but that's where everyone else comes in.
Why Dragon Ball Consistency in something such as power levels matter!
Spoiler:
Doctor. wrote:I've explained before, I'll just paraphrase myself.
Power levels establish tension and drama. People who care about them (well, people who care about them in a narrative) don't care about the big numbers or the fancy explosions. If you have character A who's so much above character B, who's the main character, you're gonna be left wondering how in the hell character B, the character we're supposed to care and root for, is going to escape the situation or overcome the odds. It makes us emotionally invested.
If character B doesn't escape the situation in a believable way that's consistent with previous events, then that emotional investment is gone. It was pointless tension, pointless drama made just to suck in the viewer. It has no critical value whatsoever. The audience is left believing that the author can just create whatever scenarios he wants and what happens to the characters is decided by whatever the author wants to happen, regardless of the events that happened in the story. Which, in fairness, is what happens, but the audience wants to be fooled. The audience wants to know that the world they're following has rules. That the world they're invested in isn't going to bend to external factors that are irrelevant to them.
An author can do whatever he wants with the characters, that's not false. But the author should also have the responsibility to make sure it fits in cohesively with the other events in the narrative he has created.
I guess the fights that we missed out on were nothing that special. I'm pretty sure Buu most likely owned Tenshinhan since I don't think he is around SSj3 level at least.

Speak for yourself, I wanted to see the #18 vs Arale and Gotenks vs. Neko Majin. I suppose we might still see these battles.
Vegetto should turn SSJ3 and smack the hell out of his daughter thats the second time she insulted him. The rebellious/reckless attitude of hers is fine but to disrespect your parent is something totally different. But this is Dragon Ball so its more than likely ok here.
It's not too late. One day, it will be.

My imperfect translation:
>those shocked by the insults
As to "enfoiré" [in the English version "bastard"]... It's really nice. At first I wanted to say something completely different, but I've chosen this word in its place.
>To whom Bra is speaking:
Yes, she does call her father "bastard". (...) Bra doesn't hesitate to say bad things about other people and even her father. She doesn't have a good personality...
>To those who say that they'd slap the face of their daughter if she did the same thing:
Would you do the same if it was your son?
Well, in all cases we don't have the same vision of education.
We all agree that Bra's attitude should not be recommanded. But this girl isn't an example to follow
