Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread: "Resurrection 'F'"

First rule of a design: looking good. Golden Freeza doesn't look good.

But what if the point is to look bad? Like Bacterian, Man Wolf as a human, and Monster Zarbon?

His final form was the most different of all. This new form won't ruin the movie for sure, but it encourages using overly simple as an excuse to not try and do something interesting.

His final form was a skinny little shrimp.

And, even from a character design standpoint, it's incredibly simple. Look at his silhouette. There's not much too it.

Well personally simple changes aren't very interesting to look at. Hence why people tend to like the AF stuff.

I don't think I've hardly seen anyone praise the AF stuff besides the people that make it themselves. Especially since nearly all of it looks like the same.

What's your point? Skinny shrimp is fine if he doesn't just look like he's just been tweaked. All of Freeza's forms had more significant changes than this one. 4th stage Freeza looks completely different from all of his previous stages. Now THAT is how you do a good transformation. You could pass true form Freeza as a whole new character if he wasn't used as Freeza's true form.

I know they ain't supposed to look good, that's the point. Fitting the part is what they are designed for well enough though.

Well I wouldn't call Perfect Cell sleek but I would call him monsterous. He was a nightmare to me. Freeza 4th form is NOTHING like his other forms. So... .

Being simple on itself is not necessarily a bad thing. But a design has to look good (considering its purpose) and it has to work. If a design looks good for its intent, if it works and, to top it off, its simple, it probably is a great design. But Golden Freeza doesn't look good and it doesn't really work.

Freeza's final form and Perfect Cell had designs that worked and that looked pretty good, while managing to be kind of simple.

You don't, but hating it and dismissing the movie and Toriyama in their entireties for it is ridiculous.

I like his new form, because it is very similar to his final form, which was my favorite, moreso than his second even. I would like a new form similar to his second or for him to not change at all, or to get red rather than purple pads, so his new form is cool with me.

Man, with all these references from Freeza saga, I'm afraid that Goku will die in this movie. But I would love if Vegeta is the one that will defeat Freeza in the end, a battle of prodigies. Maybe Bulma will die too.

What you didn't know 4th form Freeza is a reskin of 1st, 2nd, or 3rd form. You must not be seeing it...wait....True Freeza looks nothing like the previous forms. It looks completely different and could even pass as it's own character?...huh. Whadya know, creativity.

I didn't need a gigantic change, but something that made the form stand out more. A paint job and some tiny tweaks don't do it for me.

That is worse cause it's a literal recolour by all definitions.
