I know how you feel  I was the same way
The Dragonboxes are like a middle aged woman who still looks good through simply taking good care of her skin and body with maybe a tiny bit of makeup while the Orange Bricks are like a middle aged woman who get's 50 tons of botox, makeup and plastic surgery in order to look younger and as a result looks even worse. ~ ringworm128

Too bad it's not dubbed. They should dub it while they're already dubbing Kai and include it in Dragon Box The Movies if there ever is such a thing. Also, they should dub the 2 OVAs. I mean come on...[/b ]the cast is all together and everything. Dub it and slap it onto the Dragon Box 7 along with the 2 TV. specials. Oh well, I can dream.

I don't ever see them dubbing that overview special or the original Plan to Eradicate the Saiyans, but I do see them getting Yo! Son Goku and Friends Return and the remake of Plan to Eradicate the Super Saiyans. But back on topic.

I really want to know if this release will have that error fixed, because in the steel sets they messed the audio up and it would play in parts it wasn't supposed too. Let's hope Funimation will fix this. Also, to cut down the confusion, I'm speaking of the Cooler movie only! The rest were fine.

Oh wow, I see I made some grammar mistakes. I don't understand the significance of the bold but.................. yes back on topic. I don't know what the music errors are............. I heard the music and I thought it was just fine. I have the Cooler steelbook, and the (Japanese) music is fine. My one complaint about the steelbooks is that the 2 TV (ya, I got it right this time) specials are in widescreen. It wouldn't be so bad, but as soon as the eye-catchers come on, you can totally tell.

They'll do 5, 5 and 5 with the 2 tv specials.
Next to get; Leged of Saiyan figures and Freeza's force

If anyone sees
Any of the Legend of Saiyan line going cheapish
Or any other Banpresto DBZ figure :)

If anyone has a cooler steelbook dvd that wants to sell it (prefer new but used is fine) when/if the dragon box movies comes out contact me :)

That makes sense. Funi treats the specials as movies so that's what they're likely to do.

*Giant list*
Am i casual? I'm not meaning to make a big thing about this but just felt like typing.
If you are annoyed about the price of the steelbook do what I did and go on Ebay and casually look up the steelbook once a week. I got mine for 30$ a month ago and a saw another one for for $40 after. TIP: Do not search only the double feature steelbook! Look up dragonball z dvds and you will be more likely to find it unlisted and there will be less competition in bids :D
As for that list, I dont think being a casual fan is based off how many items a person owns. I say this because I know a lot of people who are huge fans and cannot afford to buy the items and only have tv recordings and one or two items.

I said that before because it seems like Funi is cutting corners andthis box is just not as high quality and visually appealing as it should be and that its dissapointing to a fan who wants something of dragonbox or steelbook quality packaging. It looks like its just for a fan to have the movies in that quality. When i bought the Dragon Ball movie 4 pack I expected much better quality than I recieved. I'm just dissapointed that these not being the dragonbox quality, they could have at least worked harder on the packaging giving me a reason to get them.

Nothing show up in red ><

Ya and you can even set it so that you get notified every time a new listing comes up. I had that going for a while, but then I bought all the steelbooks for $120. I personally think that was a little steep, but hey. I wanted them.

I agree with you 100% that they should have done a better job with the packaging.

I, for one, am very enthusiastic about this set. I have all the movies as Funi's original fullscreen singles (which look pretty awful), and bought one steel book, the first one with movies 1 and 2. I really loved the images on the double features; for one, having seen movie 1 a million times over the years, it was a revelation to see it in widescreen, which I feel is a much better framing of the film. I've been studying film for years, and on a compositional level, the widescreen image simply looks more accurate - it's cropped, but the framing also looks more comfortable and precise than the 'open' fullscreen version. As for Funi's remastering, it's far from perfect, but a big step up from their original movie releases and ten steps up from how the Orange Bricks looked.

But I never had the money to buy all the steel books, especially with the high prices some are demanding, so I haven't bought any more. These budget releases, then, are really cool. I know they aren't the Dragon Boxes, the cover art sucks, the packaging probably won't be anything special, but hey...it's 5 movies for eighteen bucks (that's Amazon's sale price anyway), and I remember when I was a kid and saved up for weeks to buy one movie for twenty-five dollars. Here, we have five movies in the best quality they have yet to see in North America for an incredibly low price point - they're practically giving the set away. For fans like me who couldn't splurge the first time around, or didn't get there in time (and don't want to pay 100 bucks for the Cooler double-feature), I say this is a very nice move on Funimation's part. Would I appreciate the Dragon Box movies more? Hell yes. I'd pay good money for that. Is this still a fairly generous offer from Funimation? Absolutely, and I can't wait to get my hands on the set.

Really? I think it looks nice, besides the fact it only shows one movie (Lord Slug).

Sigh*......Looks like I'm going to be picking these up, the collector in me won't pass it up, although I already have EVERY movie release to date.

I just hope the spine art is better than the DB movies because those were just an insult.

That personally seems like a waste of money to me. I mean, it's literally just new packaging.
What was wrong with the spine art on the DB movies?

It was WAY too dull and boring and by far the most of of place of ANY Funimation released spine art. It's like they TRIED to pick the blandest font and it doesn't say Dragon Ball or anything on it.

Ya seriously. I'm keeping my steelbooks (which, IMO, are better than these new releases) until I catch wind of an official Dragon Box release.

Did you get this new release early to be able to form this opinion?

I was referring to the cover art and the packaging. I was using the Dragon Ball movie 4-pack as a guide in order to make a comparison to the Steelbook packaging.
