What did Namco Bandai say about Plan to Erradicate the Super Saiyans? Started but never finished, based on one of the manga volumes?

It is indeed Episode of Bardock according to jeuxvideo.fr: http://www.jeuxvideo.fr/jeux/dragon-bal ... 86390.html

gamers.fr also implies this: http://www.gamers.fr/actus/2012/04/12/d ... -en-images

Bravo Namco Bandai, bravo!

May I add that this game will be an utter failure if it lacks a dance mode! I will buy this game if it allows me to do the fusion dance, Ginyu Force poses and more!
"I like the money it brings in, but Dragon Ball Heroes is the worst. That's actually the real reason I decided to start working on new material. I was afraid Bandai would make something irredeemably stupid like Super Saiyan 4 Broly." - Akira Toriyama, made up interview, 2013.

If the French websites are mistaken and the movie is really 30 minutes, it could be Yo! Son Goku and His Friends Return!!, which is 33 minutes.

They reused the models of Ultimate Blast, which rerused the movements of Raging Blast 2, which reused the movements of Raging Blast. They are putting a lot of efford on those games. Thanks Shueisha!
James Teal (Animerica 1996) wrote:When you think about it, there are a number of similarities between the Chinese-inspired Son Goku and that most American of superhero icons, Superman. Both are aliens sent to Earth shortly after birth to escape the destruction of their homeworlds; both possess super-strength, flight, super-speed, heightened senses and the ability to cast energy blasts. But the crucial difference between them lies not only in how they view the world, but in how the world views them.

Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. The more down-to-earth Goku has no illusions about being responsible for maintaining social order, or for setting some kind of moral example for the entire world. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.

So what you are saying is that it offers less features then a plug and play TV game?

In all seriousness, I really don't know what Namco-Bandai is thinking right now. Lets break it down: They have been doing poorly the past three years, so instead of bringing in someone new they role with the same team that has been dragging them down; On top of that this new game is going to be exclusive to the console selling less titles; Furthermore it's for Kinect, eliminating 360 fans who don't have a Kinect(which looks like there is quite a few of you). Either Namco-Bandai is getting paid a lot of money to put this thing together or they really went off the deep end.

I wouldn't think they were this crazy if there was another title coming out for the PS3/360 alongside this Kinect game. I can see them wanting to cover all grounds, but focusing just on Kinect(which so far seems to be the case) feels like they want these games to sell bad.

This game looks boring and it looks like they are using the same engine as Ultimate Blast. Unless we some gameplay videos that change my mind, I doubt I will pick this up.

Judging by how they managed to ignore the Wii almost entirely, I don't put anything past them.

I'm pretty sure we are likely to see the characters from Ultimate Blast return and I'm pretty sure SSj Bardock will be in it as well if the Bardock episode is plan to be in the game.

The Wii got the better 2 Tenkaichi games, Revenge of King Piccolo and another game as well. They weren't ignored. Graphically the Wii couldn't handle anything from Burst Limit forward. It's bad enough Spike switches the character models ever game but to have to port them down for the Wii would be even more time consuming...especially when they only have a year. Plus, 3rd party games don't seem to do well on the Wii and it was smarter of Namco-Bandai to focus on the PS3 and 360 crowed.

My point was that between the PS3 and the 360, the PS3 was selling more units and yet Namco-Bandai chose to do their next game on the 360. They even cut their potential sales down even further by catering to a peripheral that not every 360 owner has; and I doubt people would run out to get one for this game.

As for the graphics and models, I think the main reason for this is to have more time for Spike Chunsoft to work and focus more on the gameplay and controls, which makes sense if you think about it.

I still hope this isn't going to end up being the annual console game of the year, if we don't hear something before June... well, I guess we'll just have to wait till next year to see if Namco Bandai actually get's it right this time.

I think they are using the same game engine because it's cheaper and I would imagine that they started to work on this project after Ultimate Blast came out.

As silly as it looks to see UT in first person mode, I like that they stuck to these models. Between all of the Spike game models to come out in the past 3 years I think UT's looked the best. Not great, but still the best of the three. It also gave them the(much needed) time to figure out the Kinect. However, it's also a sign that this game is getting an even smaller budget then Raging Blast.

It makes sense that they'd reuse UT's models... they'd be idiots not to. The previous games have been sold on both PS3 and Xbox 360, and the PS3 had more sales for the RB/UT games. So it makes sense that they would want to keep production costs much lower for a game that probably won't sell nearly as well.
I'm re-watching Dragon Ball GT in full on my blog. Check it out if you're interested in my thoughts on the series as I watch through it!

I do like the graphics in Ultimate Blast and the character models did look better then the last RB games. Since a lot of fans where upset over the small character list then I would imagine the game would a large list. UB had 41 characters if you don't count the custom characters and I think the Kinect game is likely to have a list between 60 - 85 characters.

Previous marketing should probably be taken as a great example of what to expect in terms of characters, as they typically stay very close to the initial number they give us. In this case, they said over "50 characters", so I wouldn't expect more than 55 max.

Since SSj3 Trunks in DBH then I wonder what are the chances of him being in the Kinect game? I hope we will get What If's again since it been while since we had any?

Well, I kind of doubt we'll get any other "what-ifs" besides the obvious. The report said something akin to "features over 50 iconic playable characters and an entirely new character". Since we're pretty confident that Episode of Bardock is the included animation, Chilled will likely be the entirely new character and SS Bardock will probably be thrown in the roster as well. Other character slots will probably be filled in gaps from Ultimate Blast, like SS2 Vegeta, Gotenks Buu, maybe SS4 Goku and Vegeta, etc.

The bosses seem to be back as well. I think the game so far looks like Ultimate Blast with Kinect controls. It looks like we are going to get another stinker this year. I think we will be lucky to get a game next year depending on the sales for the Kinect game.

I'll say... I was excited at first when I heard the news and even started contemplating on getting an X360 and Kinnect. No more.
After seeing some screens and realising what good old Spike are trying to do... no, just no. I will stick to my Tenkaichi 3 Wii Edition, thank you very much.

Although I will keep an eye on how this game turns out. I am interested in how it will actually play, but I don't think I'll ever go out and buy it.
