If it's around Amazon's price then I don't mind paying a third party seller instead to get it early.
It was on eBay actually. It was pretty expensive too, I usually wait to get them around £15, but since it was the last part I kind of bought on impulse.

Holy crap, that's great! That blows away Wakamoto's performance of that scene in Kai if I remember it correctly.

Any way you could upload the Japanese version for comparison?
Wakamoto, from Kai (just right click and hit 'save-as'). It's not as good as Dragon Ball Z, but it's still better than Clarke.

I dunno. I almost laughed at the second to last "Chikushou", because he sounded like a dying animal or something. The last yell was really good, but it felt more like just a typical scream, and I feel it didn't have the emotion that Clarke put into his last "Damnit!" where you can hear his voice cracking.

Still not nearly as bad as I remembered it being though. I do seem remember him having a really underwhelming scream at some point though, I just can't remember where that was.

The early parts of that audio file are basically his best screams in Dragon Ball Kai, sadly. Ever since the end of Code Geass Wakamoto's seemed to be placing less effort into his screaming, which is a shame, considering it's one of his trademarks.

While Dameon Clarke's a fantastic English Cell, he's still no match for the Perfect Cell Wakamoto Norio.

The Japanese cast was better in Dragon Ball Z than Dragon Ball Kai, they can also be heard to be worn off in Kai whereas Z they were more younger, active and just better overall.

I thought Clarke did better than Wakamoto in that scene for Kai based on the snippet of audio provided by JulieYBM, but, I don't remember Wakamoto's performance from the original which was probably better than Clarke even now. But, I'm the kind of a guy who thinks the English Kai work is equal to the original Z in Japanese voice wise/performance wise. But, that's just me. Kai was a bit of let down in Japanese.

Here's a comparison clip of both Kai versions and both Z versions, that way you can compare the voice work between The English Kai/Z and the Japanese Kai/Z or all 4:

We're very close to the 5th June but it feels as though it's taking forever for me, at least, I can't wait to get Part 8 so my Kai Kollection is complete.

The 10 last episodes will probably just last two days at max, 'cos it's exciting to watch "new" episodes on Blu-ray and well, this is the final part.

Shame that I'm stuck with Goku SSJ again on the inside cover, I wonder if the DVD version has Gohan SSJ2 + Goku SSJ on the other.

Edit: It indeed does! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1xTkx-Jyig8 3:14 wow, I envy the DVD owners, they got the Gohan SSJ2 picture while the Blu-ray owners just another damn Goku. :|

You think you have it bad? Try waiting until the 14th of June for Part 7.

Dammit Madman! Just license and release Part 8 along with Part 7!! I don't want to wait another 4 months to complete my Kai collection!!!

I think you've already told me why you prefer to buy Madman's edition but the US FUNimation version is released much sooner and cheaper.

Well, even if I lived wherever Madman is, I'd still import it 'cos it's cheaper, has slipcovers, original music P1-P4 (parts) and it's the source of the Blu-rays Madman got them from, if it were directly from Toei Animation with the Dragon Ball Kai logo, that'd be way more effin awesome!

The thing is though, If I did decide to import, the cost alone + shipping would either end up being exactly the same if I just bought it in store or being higher than retail offers here.

I will import Part 4 Yamamoto when I get the chance (Even though I already have Part 4 Kikuchi).

I also buy the DVD versions and not Blu-Rays because I really can't be bothered with Blu-Ray apart from DBZ, which I wasn't going to bother with anyway but now that they have suspended production, they've become a novelty type of thing for me.

And the fact that Rightstuf needs a scan of my card to buy from their store? Fuck off! No other store I've ever bought from ever needed that so what the hell makes them so special?

Dragon Ball Z Kai: Part Eight Blu-ray currently at £13.04 on Amazon UK.

I've definitely picked this up since they ship much faster than Amazon US and Part 7 was via Amazon UK too (same seller), so nothing to worry about.

Part 7 only came out in March 2012 and still feels so new, a few months after Part 8 is released and Kai's complete. Kai's finished. :)

I watched the first few episodes on this set today and I was impressed. I actually love how short the goku cell fight is in kai. It sets it about from other major battles and it mostly good animation days. :) But most importantly it is direct, which is uncommon for dbz fights .

Ouch those slipcovers are in a disastrous condition.

It felt kind of weird seeing your slipcovers without the Blu-ray logo at the top (left in this case).

Has anyone heard anything about the Walmart-exclusive two-pack? It'll probably be a few weeks before it shows up at my store if they're releasing it at all, but I'd like to know mostly out of curiosity.
