Her bitchiness was just as spontaneous in the original version I believe.Super Sonic wrote:I have a question about the episode on Wednesday when they took off from Earth. What the hell was up with Bulma? Was her attitude about the same in the Japanese version, and I also don't own vol. 5. Was she in a really bitchy mood, that time of the month, or what?
Just as grainy

Her mood may have been caused because eather she had to be the one driving the spaceship (instead of Mr. Popo) or that she was the only one taking the trip seriously.
Anyone else notice that where she originally spoke namekian in the Saban version, she spoke english? This is one spot the redub screwed up on that the Saban version didn't!

I also go by "veemonjosh".
Yes Bulma is even more of a bitch in the Japanese version, she goes on raw with Kuririn. Why she's in such a bad mood I don't really know.
Probably scared of going into space.

You mean, the translator that she and her father installed on the ship, that the old dub missed out on completely?Super Sonic wrote:Yeah, I noticed that. Though she did mention something about a translator though.

Yeah, his hospital phobia, I personally find it funny because of the concept of him being a grown man, father, husband, and guy who's saved the world, yet still be afraid of shots and seeing a doctor.Goku's always been a bit of a kid on the inside, that's one of the reasons he's so lovable by fans, even in his golden years he's still an innocent pure hearted guy with his own particular fears; hospitals, shots, and Chichi to name a fewSuper Sonic wrote:Man, in the filler they sure make Goku act like a baby over a shot.

The worst part about all those filler episodes is that it makes you think that they're finally there, when in reality they're far from it. And you know you have plenty more episodes until the real action with Freeza starts.

After the death of Goku and Raditz and Russian Roulette episodes, I don't see why the rest of the Z and GT series' couldn't be shown entirly uncut (except for the incident of the elderly couple being sniped in the Buu arc, even that shouldn't be shown on US air waves). Uncut Original Dragonball on the other hand is a different story.Son Goku wrote:Some of you guys are lucky, you can just ignore this week. But yet people like me HAVE to record as many redub episodes as we can (for collecting purposes.). This just makes me wish they could show all 291 episodes uncut...

After the Goku/Raditz blood-bath and Saiyan battle, Krillin's impalment would be child's play. Shoot, they already showed the actual stabbing and some of the blood in the edit-version. If Cartoon Network were to purchase the Ginyu/Freeza uncut episodes up to "De-Ja-Vu", all 500 some-what episodes of the Dragonball anime trilogy could air just fine, though GT episode 16 would forever be cursed with the horrid "Grand Problem" recap in it's place.Son Goku wrote:Actually, the real question (since it would be a miracle to get as far as the Buu saga uncut) would be Krillin's impalement.
