I'd love it.
A two to three hours film?

It's not very often to have a 3 hours film but they exist, I'd take a shot and guess Toei Animation's going with 45-60min.
FUNimation 2015 Releases I want:
- Kai 2.0 on Blu-ray

I think it'd take more than 3 hours.

Anyone care to make an estimation on how long that would run?

Looks like 2013 is going to be a year to look forward to.

Funimation releasing a new release of the original Dragon Ball along with a new movie after all these years? Hell yeah!

I think you're severely underestimating how long even an absurdly fast paced adaptation of the entire manga would have to be. The runtime would still be pretty ridiculous even if they could somehow squeeze every panel from 20 chapters into 10 minute segments... we'd end up at what, 260 minutes? Over 4 hours right there already...

As long that "surprise" has a tied length with The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises (which comes out 7/20, kudos to MistareFusion), I can feel the movie should have the cinematic music effect used by Globus / Immediate Music. IMO, America should get the treatment in a few years.

Even if they decided to make into a LotR like trilogy, the pace would be insane and ruin the films...

So tell me guys and gals, Whenever this does get released do you think Funimation will change the original story and replace the Japanese music with their own music or is that all behind them now?

Neither, since Kai came, they should retain the elements used by the original story as in "faithful"

I think that's behind them, judging by Kai. Maybe a few off lines and dub terms, but mostly faithful.

If FUNimation's Kai dub means anything they'll keep the original music and a better dub script than before.

Just hope they won't throw around so much that so-called "swearing" in a future English dub of this film.

There was nothing wrong with that, and there was just as much "swearing" (like "kuso", which more or less means something like shit, and stuff), if not moreso, in the original Japanese version.

I mean, wouldn't you say words like "damn" and "hell", if not worse curses, in situations like the ones Gokuu and co. had ended up in?

It'll just be a recording of somebody turning the pages of the manga, allowing the viewer to read it.

Music by Akira Toriyama humming Shunsuke Kikuchi's score in the background.

Narrated by Norio Wakamoto in Japanese, Morgan Freeman in English.
Kentai wrote:Son Gokuu is a fascinating character anyway, because he is - at face value, anyway - an idiot savant. The victim of violent head trauma as an infant [...] he's a simple bumpkin with a fair share of brain damage who's natural talents to work out what's wrong compensate for his broad lack of common sense. But he's also a fighter, through and through [...] he fight until he has, in no uncertain terms, beaten his enemy on terms they can both acknowledge. He doesn't want to kill anyone, or even prove that he can win... he just wants to know he can. He's an ineffably charming bastard who's manly leanings were really incendental, and yes, the fact that he was voiced by a squeaky woman made the combination perhaps all the more charming.

Like the Japanese version doesn't have the same amount of swears? Sure the vulgarity of the words in each culture may not be exactly the same between the two version, but the words are there.

The Japanese has but FUNimation added more by what I've seen from the FUNimation Kai dubs.

FUNimation on the uncut dub didn't even include the sex-jokes Muten Roshi and Vejita said.

What's the problem with swearing? As long as it's used in an appropriate situation, I'm fine with it. If you're about to die you're not gonna yell out "darn it" or "curses". If FUNimation just started making the characters swear for no reason, like if they had Freeza say "Those eyes, they have the same fucking eyes"! Then yea, I wouldn't like that.
