Oh sorry. Yeah in the original release if you played as Cooler and transformed his energy blasts would be silent without any sound as you shot them. It was a pretty well known problem that has been fixed with this new release.Leotaku wrote:Uh...yeah. I'm kinda wondering what you mean by that. The S wrote:EDIT: Oh yeah! I almost forgot! Really? I don't remember that. The only sound problem I recall off the top of my head was that sometimes, the game would slowdown or "hiccup" for a second, and then the sound would be thrown out of sync with the animation.Slickmasterfunk wrote:Oh sorry. Mainly during the more cinematic attacks. My guess is, the audio for the sound effects in the cinematic attacks are just one single sound file. So it gets thrown off, and the sound file just finishes before the attack is done. Like, you'll hear an explosion before you see it.

There was that too. It happened during the dragon rushes of Freeza, Cooler, and Cell. That's been fixed too.Leotaku wrote: Really? I don't remember that. I usually notice this kind of stuff (like how there is no SE for 18's blast in the "Sadistic 18" move in Budokai Tenkaichi), but I didn't realize there was anything like that in Budokai 3....
Battle High 2, starring Kyle Hebert as well as myself, has been released on Xbox 360, OUYA, PC, Linux, Mac, and Xbox One!

There's tons of sound issues with Budokai Tenkaichi. A lot of the volume is unbalanced, which can drown out the sound. I have, on many occasions, been unable to comprehend or even hear/notice a sound effect because the music was much louder than it. Yet, in other places, without changing the volume, the sound effects are REALLY loud. The S wrote:I usually notice this kind of stuff (like how there is no SE for 18's blast in the "Sadistic 18" move in Budokai Tenkaichi), but I didn't realize there was anything like that in Budokai 3....
It's annoying, I can't get a balance so I can hear both sound effects and music.

I've noticed a few times in BT where the music drowns out the voices...
But this isn't about BT. It's Budokai 3. Let's try to get back on topic before the boss gets in here and says something like "Topic. On it."

I'll be damned.
So, I found myself in a nice amount of money last week. Yesterday, I got to Best Buy to check out the Superman box-set when I see it; Greatest Hits Budokai 3, just sitting there. Last one up for sale. I at first just got that and the DB movie box, but right before getting in line, I decided to take a shot and see if it'd be the correct version. I bought it, brought it home, and behold; Pan's mouth moves on the Load Screen menu! Not only that, when hitting New Game, it indeed does create an all new save file that happens to import all your data from the original version of Budokai 3. After putting in the passwords from EX's DBZ 3 Extras page, I found myself face to face with Piccolo Daimao, Halo Goku, and Saiyan-Armored Long-haired Trunks. The frame rate of certain levels has been improved upon significantly, as has the frame rate of the dragon rush attacks. Cooler's balls are making sounds, still cut-scenes actually change in DU, Gotenks actually spits out his super ghosts, the Gohans' soaring dragon attacks never looked better, the Baba movie 000 is straight from the Japanese Budokai 3 and not the original European version, and hey; did I mention the small fact that the Japanese VAs are now selectable? HELL YEAH! I know I'm gonna cruise my ass into DU once more. I know, you guys, I said there was no chance I'd be getting this, but I had the spare cash, right opportunity, and felt like getting a laugh out of Atari's false advertising. On the contrary, I got a true version of Budokai 3, one that makes the original look like Budokai 2 in comparison. It has exactly everything the Japanese version does, only translated in English, with the small exception of Baba movies 002, 003, and 004. Yatta! BEST DBZ game ever, try and find the correct version!

I thought the music was the same in all versions?kvon wrote:Hey, Conan! Are the background music in the GH Budokai 3 the US ones or the JP ones? Just curious.
Maybe you're thinking about Budokai Tenkaichi, which has the Japanese BGM in the Japanese version, and reused Budokai music in the North American version.

The background music is the exact same. The only alteration done to the music in Greatest Hits Budokai 3 in comparison with the Japanese version is the opening animation theme still lacks the lyrics present in the Japanese and European versions. Other than that little detail and the lacking of Baba movies 002, 003, and 004, the correct GH version has everything the Japanese version does. On the subject of this release, Piccolo Daimao is one huge mofo, not to mention his destructive wave and light grenade actually look different.kvon wrote:Hey, Conan! I'm not sure, all I know is it was a typical Best Buy. I bought mine from the one that was moved from by Belden Village mall to the strip up in Massillon I think. I purchased the last one available, so even if you wanna make a drive up there, I'm not sure you'd find one. My suggestion; find a typical Best Buy store, look for Budokai 3 and make sure it's the "Greatest Hits" logo with the Japanese version's cover art. If Pan's mouth moves on the Load Game menu, hit "New Game" and all your data from the original Budokai 3 will import. Last night I went to a friend's house, he lucked out and got the correct version as well. That kook wanted my 100% game data so I copied it over to his memory card, some people can just be real lazy.Akira wrote:Conan, you didn't happen to purchase that copy at the Reynoldsburg/Pickerington Best Buy store did you?

No, sir. As long as you already have the Japanese VAs saved, the only time you'll hear the dub VAs when turning the game on is on the Load Game menu where Pan and Gill speak with their dub VAs. But after hitting Load Game, you'll instantly hear Masako Nazowa voicing Goku in the following menu. If out of curiosity you want to hear Pan and Gill's Japanese VAs, just hit triangle and they'll be there to hear. So, in short, it does not have BT's glitch. Another neat tibit; the Japanese VAs are now credited in the ending credit sequence following Dragon Universe, and outside of having to hear Pan and Gill's dub VAs when you turn the game on, you have the Japanese VAs for the entire game with no audio glitches.Mizugi wrote:Does it have the same glitch as BT where you need to reset the language each time you play?

I asked because I live in Ohio as well, and that Best Buy I was in about a week ago and saw one single copy of the game. I didn't take the risk getting it because I figured it would be a older misprint copy left over.
I am not too concerned, I work at another Best Buy store that is closer to where I live, and I am sure we will get it in there sooner or later. I'll grab a copy then.

Holy crap, the Best Buy you were at, was it at an area (I think) in Massillon or Jackson township called "the Strip"? There was only 1 copy left when I was there and I nabbed it, that'd be the weirdest thing if you and I had our eyes on the exact same, correct, greatest hits Budokai 3.Akira wrote:I asked because I live in Ohio as well, and that Best Buy I was in about a week ago and saw one single copy of the game.
