Toriyama run out of ideas for characters designs, that's a straight fact

Curious about this Toriyama one shot.
I hope it isn't anything related to DB Minus and he just focus on this movie.

Nop, just your opinion. Whis and Beerus don't agree.Kakarot9001 wrote:Toriyama run out of ideas for characters designs, that's a straight fact

A world without Dragon Ball is just boring.
Favourite old DB Animators: Masaki Sato and Tadayoshi Yamamuro
Favourite new DB Animators: Yuya Takahashi and Chikashi Kubota

I didn't know you knew the intricate workings of Toriyama's mind so intrinsically.Kakarot9001 wrote:Toriyama run out of ideas for characters designs, that's a straight fact
Now I'm just maddeningly curious who designed Jaco, Tights, Beerus, Whis, Tagoma, Sorbet...

If you honestly think this, you don't understand AT one bit. The man does what he wants, when he wants. He's not going to change the color of a character for bandai toys.Retan wrote:I'm sure Bandai asked him to do something where they wouldn't have to change designs, just colors, for there Future Freeza figures. Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread: "Fukkatsu no F"
When I first saw the Golden Freeza screenshots, I thought that that was a poor choice.
Once the trailer came out later that night though, I really started to like it and see why Toriyama likely went with the design.
I believe that the simple design of the new form was chosen so that no matter how familiar you are with the DB series, as long as you know Freeza's iconic image, you'll be able to recognize and know that that new form is him. In the end, it was going for "Freeza" when you saw him, even for those that are much more unfamiliar with the series. If they went away and went with Spikes, mouth guards, etc, it would take away from Freeza's iconic image. This is important because this may not be the last time we see him. We don't know how the movie will end. If he continues to exist we don't want Freeza's iconic final form image to be torn by two contrasting appearances. This applies to even if Freeza does die in the movie. They may not want his final appearance to overshadow the iconic image that has grown over all of these years.
I think the Golden Freeza design was a great idea.

Money talks dum dum.
Yeah, we all know how greedy AT is from the numerous DB series he's made in the past decade at the behest of Bandai Namco. Oh wait. Get over yourself and your conspiracy nonsense. Freeza is gold because AT wanted him to be gold.

Dragonball Evolution ring a bell, THINK!!! All about money. And what conspiracy nonsense?

Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread: "Fukkatsu no F"
Um, this isn't just a color swap. Legitimately, his body shape is changed, along with plenty of his accents. So, it's most certainly not a "marketing angle", at least not in that regard. They'd need to make a new cast for any figurine, no matter what.
That has absolutely nothing to do with any of this. Especially Toriyama "shilling for money".Retan wrote:Dragonball Evolution ring a bell, THINK!!! All about money.

Not everyone can be bought and Toriyama is one of them.Retan wrote:Money talks.
If Bandai could pay him to do what they wanted then he'd have made something along the lines of Db Heroes or worse.
July 9th 2018 will be remembered as the day Broly became canon.

Toriyama can't be bought?
Anyway wasn't trying to start a conspiracy theory.
Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread: "Fukkatsu no F"
Bandai and Cartoon network tried to get him to do another story in the early-mid 2000s and he wouldn't even though they probably offered him a big paycheck.Retan wrote: Toriyama can't be bought? That's a good one.
It's not uncommon that people in the entertainment industry will put their reputation over $$$.

No but he'll let Fox tarnish his work for lots of it.

They have the rights to the movies so there was nothing he could have done.Retan wrote:No but he'll let Fox tarnish his work for lots of it.

He gave them those rights, I remember hearing the reports when it was reported they were going to make a live action DB movie.
I'm not trying to hate on Toriyama, I'd be the same way as him if I had his talent, but at the same time don't say he can't be bought.
Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread: "Fukkatsu no F"
He didn't let Fox do anything. As said above, they have the rights so they legally could do that. He tried to give them input and suggest changes, but they didn't listen to him.Retan wrote:sintzu wrote:Bandai and Cartoon network tried to get him to do another story in the early-mid 2000s and he wouldn't even though they probably offered him a big paycheck.Retan wrote: Toriyama can't be bought? That's a good one.

Nah.
Toriyama still has good design sense in that head of his but sadly it feels like that passion isn't burning quite as brightly as in his hayday. At first I didn't like the design, akinning it to Cliffjumper syndrome but it's kinda grown on me. It just doesn't grab me like the old days. I think still to this day Ruin from Dragon quest 8 is my favorite design out of Toriyama.
Going on hiatus. Too much stuff in RL to deal with for me to keep up with posts here for now. Was fun, hope you all have a nice day and future! Volt signing off.

Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread: "Fukkatsu no F"
Fox couldn't do anything with DB until they paid him for the rights to the movie, then they could do whatever they wanted with the movie franchise, he knew this when he was paid.

More like an opinion. And did you not read Jaco The Galactic Patrolman or see any of the designs for the new and old characters in Revival Of F?Kakarot9001 wrote:Toriyama run out of ideas for characters designs, that's a straight fact

Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread: "Fukkatsu no F"
Shueisha did cause if you don't know they have the final say in everything regarding the series and others like Naruto and One Piece weather it's who gets to animate it,make games, toys, ect. and for smaller writers they tell them what and how to write their stories and when they can or can't end them which is why AOT's author went to Kodansha instead.Retan wrote:
