Sorry about that. I usually do these things so that topic won't become a war-zone(Nappa's power) or an endless debate like Broly topics. Wait. I mini moddedDNA wrote:First you mini mod then you derail the topic with macros and memes. Not cool bro.

Suppress himself then use kaioken?rereboy wrote:So you're saying that Goku could have been using Kaioken, which automatically doubles your power, while at the same time being able to restrain or suppress his power in order to not kill Nappa, even though he also hit him at a velocity greater than any he could achieve without Kaioken.Kamiccolo9 wrote: Kaio-Ken involves complete concentration and control of your ki. I imagine that Goku could restrain himself as much as he wanted.
Yeah, I'm gonna have to just disagree with you.
Also, notice that I never said that Saiyans aren't tough. They sure are. But that on itself doesn't invalidate what I argued. In fact, if Sayiyans weren't very tough I would say that Nappa wouldn't have survived Goku's Kaioken blow even if he ahd a power level of 9000.

I for one welcome our new genie overlord.

Herms wrote:The fact that the ridiculous power inflation is presented so earnestly makes me just roll my eyes and snicker. Like with Freeza, where he starts off over 10 times stronger than all his henchmen except Ginyu (because...well, just because), then we find out he can transform and get even more powerful, and then he reveals he can transform two more times, before finally coming out with the fact that he hasn't even been using anywhere near 50% of his power. Oh, and he can survive in the vacuum of space. All this stuff is just presented as the way Freeza is, without even an attempt at rationalizing it, yet the tone dictates we're supposed to take all this silly grasping at straws as thrilling danger. So I guess I don't really take the power inflation in the Boo arc seriously, but I don't take the power inflation in earlier arcs seriously either, so there's no net loss of seriousness. I think a silly story presented as serious is harder to accept than a silly story presented as silly.
Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
It might be possible but I don't think he did so in that situation since he was fighting at 8000 and then he was pushing himself to catch Nappa.Draken wrote:

Well characters have always been shown to be able to pull their punches. Or 50% Freeza vs 150 million Goku would have ended in their short confrontation before Freeza powered up.rereboy wrote:It might be possible but I don't think he did so in that situation since he was fighting at 8000 and then he was pushing himself to catch Nappa.Draken wrote:

Alright, alright, when I start seeing reports, it means we're getting a little too far off-topic. Let's try to get the thread back on track, please.
That said, a discussion of Nappa's battle power is probably not the ideal track to be on. His official power is 4000 (or 4500, if you want to be a unique snowflake). It works if you want to let it work, but nobody's obligated to use it if they don't like it. Can we leave it at that, and move on?

Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
That's why I mentioned the fact that he hit him at a higher velocity that he was capable of achieving without kaioken. When they pull punches without suppressing their power level it means that they just aren't hitting that hard. But at that velocity, the hit would have to be hard.Draken wrote:Well characters have always been shown to be able to pull their punches. Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
Salagir, what multipliers do you have for Oozaru & Super Saiyan forms?
James Teal (Animerica 1996) wrote:When you think about it, there are a number of similarities between the Chinese-inspired Son Goku and that most American of superhero icons, Superman. Both are aliens sent to Earth shortly after birth to escape the destruction of their homeworlds; both possess super-strength, flight, super-speed, heightened senses and the ability to cast energy blasts. But the crucial difference between them lies not only in how they view the world, but in how the world views them.
Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. The more down-to-earth Goku has no illusions about being responsible for maintaining social order, or for setting some kind of moral example for the entire world. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.
Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
Does is ever matter in a fight which number that correlates to someone's powerlevel? I mean, we pretty much see which one is stronger (the one who wins). Even if the fighters are fighting evenly, Toriyama portrayed the one not using as much effort pretty well.
Also, in DBM, most of the time the stronger fighter wins. If not, it's clear why not, right? Or have I missed something here?
Just enjoy the fights!

Well aside from Kaioshin and Kaioshin things...
Vegeta: "Funny... I seem to recall Kakarot being fed the same information right before he transformed; the distinct look on your faces when he went Super Saiyan didn't exactly inspire confidence. One does not predict or calculate power like ours."

I guess we could see Vegito and the others go inside Buu's body and maybe they can try to free everyone.
