Official On-Going DBZ 2013 Movie Thread: "Battle of Gods"

I,m a old school japanese fan and wow this movie gave me a real dragonball feel goosebumps,Vegeta is a good guy now.
And the movie feels like a begining of somthing grate the movie was full of clues for a new series, a new begining new powers.

ps Lord Bills Sleeps for 3 years in the end of the movie, in that time there wil come a serie i know for sure

South American sells for "Batalla de los Dioses" are breaking records. Pre-sells in Peru alone have reached over 11,000 tickets sold after 1 night. Picture 2 features a fan from a fan in Colombia waiting to buy his ticket. This might surprise a few here, but Dragon Ball is literally one of the biggest and most popular shows ever in South American history. It's almost a religion there, and that's not an exaggeration. I'm thrilled to see people so excited for it.

Yeah, I'd definitely like it if there was a new series with Bills as a prominent character throughout the series.

In fact, the ending of the movie gave a lot of potential possibilities for new adventures for Goku & friends. For example, it would be cool to explore Whis's powers and abilities,as he was the one to teach Bills martial arts. Also, if AT decided to produce the show it would be great to see his take on a new series after Z.

Actually we don't know, I hate cliffhangers... We'll see more movies before a new TV series. Could they really fit 120 episodes in a 3 year time frame? I guess they could if the pacing is slow but that's not dragon ball

That "inbetween" was on screen for a good 6/8 frames. Plenty of time for any normal audience member to notice how terrible it looks. And that vegeta drawing was definitely a key frame so there's no excuse there. I may have cherry picked the JSAT shots, but I still found it to be a tighter looking product over all. And even if we're not comparing it to anything BoG was wildly inconsistent. It's what comes from not having made a DBZ film in 17 years.

I thought it looked okay. But it was kinda jarring to see that.. What was the point? You know?

There's no way he could have gotten a power up high enough to push him to SSJ. No. Way.

And why is that? Goku got a x33 increase in Freeza arc, Bardock only needs a x9 increase at most for him to be able to turn Super Saiyan.

I like to think SSJ3 is merely a form that allows the user to maintain all there potential. What Vegeta did was unleash it all for a short burst so he didn't transform.

The CG Goku and Beers during the fight was kind of awkward, but it only really got to me on the backgrounds for some reason. Probably because of how slowly the rocks were falling and such. The part with them fighting went by so fast that it really isn't too noticeable unless you DO pause on it to look.

I found it funny that I think vegeta's rage boost the dumbest shit ever in DBZ. Yet it's my favorite part of the movie. MY BULLLLLLLLLLLLLLMA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah the whole rage boost thing from protecting family members seems a bit off since Vegeta notes in the Buu Saga that he already has a family to protect and he still can't best Goku. He was trying to figure out what he was missing.

But oh well it's just a movie.

More importantly, if Bills wakes up in 3 years, isn't that still before Uub? So that means there is more time for stuff to happen with him again.

UGLY ass. Is that better . I thought he was wearing it when he was on King Kai's planet underneath his Work out clothes. WTF is with the movie and having character wear those fighting gi underneath their regular clothes. It's like they know something bad is going to happen. How the hell did Trunks and Goten hide their fighting gi?

I really love his blue gi. I liked how it symbolized he was his own master. I always thought he wore the orange to honor Muten Roshi and the turtle school.

I wouldn't say I 'prefer' the blue outfit, but I do like it. And it would be pretty cool to see it make it's appearance in another film, and for us to see how and why he ends up switching to it, even if it's just a little reason. That said though, I can totally see why he didn't have the outfit in this movie - the first movie in almost 20 years, you're going to want your lead character to have his most iconic look, and in Goku's case that's his orange gi.

And agreed on the slurs. Seriously Goken, there's no call for any of that.
