In what way are those numbers bad?
Battle of Gods is the best-selling DVD and Blu-Ray of the week! We should party!

People like to make things sound worse than they actually are. BoG sold fine, and made a lot of profit from it's home release.

To say it sold fine is an understatment. This is just the first week.

Limited Editions seem to be separate and the standard ones are apparently stacked from what I've seen.

Standard editions only came with one disc, which was the movie. The limited editions were the only release to have the extra disc.

Why did I type that when I knew that wasn't what I wanted to say? I meant the Amazon's limited edition steel book was stacked and the regular limited edition Blu-rays were separate.

After that, I'm going to bed. I don't need to be up typing.

Don't the naysayers and doom-n'-gloomers get to you... Battle of Gods is doing just fine!

Making #1 on the anime DVD/Blu-Ray sales charts is damn impressive, considering the state the anime market's been over there for years.
Nothing matters (in a cosmic sense.) Have a good time.

I think I got to agree with the people about Nozawa's yells in the movie. They were pretty lackluster. I felt the final yell as SSJG was okay, but still not very powerful.
Why Dragon Ball Consistency in something such as power levels matter!

Her voice has aged a lot since Z. Really makes you realize how fast time goes :( But I still enjoyed her Goku none-the-less :)

That kind of makes me wonder what'll happen to the Funi actors when they turn old.

Will there still be new DBZ anime coming out then?

I'm surprised so few have noticed that this happened in the movie. Most seem to think that Goku somehow revived because of the "memory" of his loved-ones. But it's clearly this massive surge of "Blue Ki" that suddenly rushes from earth to his body. He clearly is seen to absorb this ki, before reviving again. It's never explained what really happened.

It's based off game mechanics, so not much help or anything substantial to go on, but Zenkai Battle Royale is pretty good at staying faithful. They even included the time limit for the god form. Anyway, it seems that blue orb was the power of all his friends and family's prayers for him to win and that he was hearing their encouragement in his mind after it was transferred to him. HOW that allows him to return to the god form is another question.
The time that you can remain in Super Saiyan God form is limited, but if you use the power of “Everyone’s Prayers”, you can enter God form one more time. On top of that, if your “excitement/tension” gets to its MAX, you can use “Everyone’s Prayers” again.

I think the blue aura coming from his friends is metaphorical and didn't actually happened like that.

Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.

Maybe he still had some sort of connection to the 5 other Saiyans and was able to temporarily draw from them one last time? Could be a combination of that and the "hopes and wishes" explanation. The whole god aspect certainly allows for something less literal, but I do like how Zenkai Battle Royal approaches it from a game mechanics perspective.

Good to see that the movie is #1 on DVD and Blu-Ray. I guess the total of home video sales and the box office total together can help make another movie in the near future.

What if... what if God Goku can borrow power from those that pray on him?!

I didn't actually thought about it much, as I'm used to this stuff from Dragon Ball. Once you master one form, unless it's proven useless, you simply have it.
So I thought that as Goku once aqcuired it, he recalled it back in the extreme circumstances, with some genkidama-like push from his friends maybe.

It looked to me like Goku simply faded out of the god form, not being used to it yet, and then called it back in his miracle push. Pretty sure Shenron also explicitly stated the form eventually wears itself out anyway, as the original Saiyain God was eventually overwhelmed.

Goku's body was extremely fatigued but his emotions were high so that somehow triggered the god power that he unknowingly stored into his body and it was subconsciously released into one final burst to dissipate Beers' blast..
