PS3 and 360? Seriously!?! Should be for PS4 and Xbox One, Namco loves to doom themselves every time... argh!!!

What do you think is better for Namco, releasing a niche-fighting game for well established current-gen consoles or making it for platforms that no one even owns yet?

They're dooming themselves by developing for systems that have an install base in the multiple of millions instead of for systems that have not yet launched?

Does no-one remember how there were still DBZ games on the Famicom after the Super Famicom launched? For the Game Boy Color after the GBA launched? For the GBA after the DS launched? For the PS2 after the PS3 launched?

DBZ games are not system-sellers, and they'd be shooting themselves in the foot by developing for new consoles too early in their life cycles. History, folks. Learn it.

True, not system sellers, but people will trade in their old consoles for new ones, effectively dropping what could have been higher sales. It would have been better if they released this last year on PS3/360 or in one year on the PS4 and Xbox One for the PS4/Xbox One when they are more established. I haven't even seen a date for this game which makes me more worried that they might be releasing the game sometime next year.

if we get all major z stuff than I'm ok with no gt but I'm sure we will get it

Battle of the Z? Seriously they couldn't come up with a better name?

It has a video of Zenkai Battle Royal, so I guess it's a port of it, or at least, it's based on it.

Fuck yes, those pictures look great! So glad they are using new character models, I got freaking sick of those Raging Blast/UT models. That picture with Goku about to confront Vegeta, Nappa and Raditz is just epic. Since Budokai Tenkaichi came out for PS2 I had always wished for a game where it was possible to have at least more than just two characters on-screen at the same time, fucking good.

There's Tenkaichi Tag Team which has 2v2 on-screen, it's a really cool game to play though only for PSP. If the PS3's hacked then it's playable on PS3 too.

Well, TTT is also playable on PS Vita now that I think of it.

that would be nice but i'd rather theme put theme in the game insted wich I'm sure they will cause they had 3 times the time to work on it

Trevax's part is now done, the game's been announced and all he had was ideas that part's long passed now.

People shouldn't rely too much on Trevax, he might not lie but the info that he shares supposedly from inside Namco Bandai isn't accurate, always.

Actually, it might as well be some sort of a "skirmish mode" when you choose a giant and then characters to fight against it - which I guess could also be called a "what-if" scenario - I don't think we have enough info to speculate about possible what-if missions or campaigns though.

We need to fix that image up. Text isn't very readable, and it repeats itself in Stage 2. Super Saiyan Prime did a good first-pass with it, but I'd love for one of our professional graphic designers to take a stab at it ^_~.

I'm hoping that for the western release the name of the game will be different because "Battle of Z" is just so bland and uninteresting, also disappointing. Meh.

Fingers crossed this one gets a playable demo on XBL/PSN, but this hasn't happen since 2010 (RB2).

Given that the main focus is team battle up to four, and judging by a few pictures shown, a possibility would be a story mode - or maybe separate "bonus battles" without a continuous story - that revisits battles of the original story by adding allies or enemies to the usual fights: what if Nappa hadn't killed Piccolo (resulting in healthier Goku + Gohan + Krilin + Piccolo VS. Giant Ape Vegeta), what if the Saiyans had come all together (fight against Raditz + Nappa + Vegeta), etc...

It would make sense that they would showcase their big novelty by making the solo mode(s) revolving around high-numbered team battles, creating what-if situations if necessary.
