Whoa chill down dude. Black arc until now has an average rating of 6.6 meanwhile Champa arc at this point (9 episodes in) had 5.5. No cause for alarm at all. Ratings fluctuate all the time just cuz this episode was low doesn't mean anything you have to factor in the children staying up late to watch "F" too.Hit!! wrote:I really really hope next episode gets better ratings, because seriously, i'm not sure, but there's a posibility that this could damage the series, maybe Toei will realize that japan likes comedy and kiddie stuff, so they will quit all the seriousness and make Goku even more goofy and childish, maybe they will put a clown red ball nose on Goku and make him do fart noises with his armpits while vegeta dances ballet and sings "let it go" and falls on his face. The pilaf gang will become the new protagonists of DBS and everything will go to complete and utter shit.
Ok, that was obviously an over exaggeration, but i am concerned this rating thing might affect the series, because last time DBS was anything close to serious or "dark" (ROF arc), it also had pretty bad ratings compared to the more light hearted Uni 6 arc and BOG arc, so i hope they don't make it light hearted just to please the kids from Japan and make the ratings go up. That would suck big time and i will be racist towards japanese kids forever (just kidding).

I'm really mad about these ranking. Seriously, what the?!Sodhi wrote:We were really off with the predictions, however hopefully next episode will bring in a lot of people. Especially with how good #56 was.
Sazae San: 8.6
Detective Conan: 7.9
Crayon Shin-chan: 7.5
Doraemon: 7.2
one piece: 7.0
Chibi Maruko-chan: 6.1
Dragon Ball Super(episode 56): 5.7
Shaun the Sheep: 3.8
Pokemon XY & Z T: 3.4
Curious George: 3.2
Witch Pretty Cure!:3.2
Also as a side note FNF trunks special did a 9.2 in rating.
It is almost impossible to have a NEP with more hype than that. How its possible people not being exicted for this episode. This sucks!
On other hand, ROF Special really well when compared to BOG which aired on the same timeslot and only had 7.4%
Even though BOG aired on a Friday night, I'm still surprised with how many people watched ROF Special, since in less than 2 years this is the third version of the same story.

Holy shit, what the fuck happened with that rating?
I guess the audience weren't interested in the obvious glory of Super Saiyan Rose.

I don't look at this thread much, is Super normally always in the middle of the pack in terms of ratings?Lord Beerus wrote:Holy shit, what the fuck happened with that rating?I guess the audience weren't interested in the obvious glory of Super Saiyan Rose.
I would have expected a higher rating as well for the last episode.

Re: Dragon Ball Super: TV Ratings Discussion Thread
While the lower rating is upsetting, we still have to keep in mind that Super still outperformed the vast majority of animated shows that week, and every week for that matter.
Re: Dragon Ball Super: TV Ratings Discussion Thread
For goodness sakes, Super is one of the top watched anime shows all week. Why do people act like the show is bombing?
Many people probably watch the show online or through DVR's rather than live anyway. Japan is not so different than us.

On a side note the Resurrection F movie got a rating of 9.2%.

Yeah, especially since Super is in its usual place, #7.precita wrote:For goodness sakes, Super is one of the top watched anime shows all week. Why do people act like the show is bombing?

The first episode of the Trunks Arc was hyped as having a ''dark tone'' and it got an outstanding 8.4 rating. I think viewers in Japan really preferred a darker tone and the first episode of the Trunks Arc proves that.Hit!! wrote:I really really hope next episode gets better ratings, because seriously, i'm not sure, but there's a posibility that this could damage the series, maybe Toei will realize that japan likes comedy and kiddie stuff, so they will quit all the seriousness and make Goku even more goofy and childish, maybe they will put a clown red ball nose on Goku and make him do fart noises with his armpits while vegeta dances ballet and sings "let it go" and falls on his face. As someone said, i feel like the reason why the ratings is surprisingly low this week is because most kids wasn't able to watch the episode because they stayed up watching the Trunks Special, which finished at around 11:30 PM.

It wasn't the darker tone alone, especially since the Japanese aren't as big on such things compared to the west. It was a combination of a new story arc, Future Trunks' return, and an evil Goku.

Re: Dragon Ball Super: TV Ratings Discussion Thread
I'd say, the reason behind the high ratings of #47 was the media exposure of that episode. It was the biggest one since Super's first episode. There was teasing everywhere and even an additional scene at the end of #46 to promote the beginning of the new arc.HeroR wrote:It wasn't the darker tone alone, especially since the Japanese aren't as big on such things compared to the west. Comparatively, #56 wasn't more advertised than any random episode of the show. For example, there wasn't an article in VJUMP or even a tweet to promote SS Rosé. The ratings aren't really surprising imo.

Looking to the rankings again, looks like we beat Sazae-san for the first time.
Even though it was with a Movie, a win is still a win.
BOG Movie didn't manage to do that.

Re: Dragon Ball Super: TV Ratings Discussion Thread
Are those ratings real? I read somewhere that DBS 56 got 6.8 and OP 7.0, also according to Gojiitaaf, FnF got 15.4.
Here's the website: http://larepublica.pe/ocio/799421-drago ... g-de-japon
There isn't any source in there so I think it's fake, even people in the comments are claiming that those aren't the real numbers, because they are even affirming that OP is 1st in the rating list and DBS 2nd which obviously isn't truth.

I hope there is some "justice" in this weeks ranking and we get a good number.
Last episode ranking 5.7% was one of the biggest offenses since Super started. Bullshit!

Re: Dragon Ball Super: TV Ratings Discussion Thread
It is a weirdly written article. It even admits in the end that both these shows are behind Sazae san, Detective Conan and Doraemon. I think they are misreporting the whole thing. I think they go the ratings from the other week where we were 0.2% away from one piece, decided that was for episode 56, and decided those other animes were not in the same category.Alee9977 wrote:Are those ratings real? I made a bet with Alee9977 that Vegeta won't be beaten quickly by an opponent. If I lose, I switch my avatar to Vegeta getting beat by hit. If I win, he switches it to Vegeta holding Black by his hair. This will last a month.
Re: Dragon Ball Super: TV Ratings Discussion Thread
But it is closer to One Piece again and it is above Conan. Remember before this arc only 5 episodes got a 6.8% or more. Its above the last 5 episodes too

"Should be" ? It is higher than most of the rest of Super and higher than Detective Conan. Not sure where it "should be" if not here.kinisking wrote: 6.8 is still lower than it should be..
