Re: Dragon Ball Super: TV Ratings Discussion Thread
People are beyond ridiculous about the ratings. The fact that the sequel to a series that ended 20 years ago is still in the middle of the top 10 and usually finishes just below One Piece is freaking amazing!
To add to this the Anime basically exists to promote merchandise and games, which all sell really well.
So I don't understand what this silly fanboy stupidity about Super under performing is all about.

Well I lost hope last week. Super will never be first.

Re: Dragon Ball Super: TV Ratings Discussion Thread
I mean, you are aware how popular and long-running Sazae-san is, right? I doubt there's any agenda. Even so, it's the people's right to view what they please. I'm not really understanding the grief: The ratings are excellent. Sure, it's great to strive for the top spot, but let's have some perspective here. Why is Dragon Ball Super below particular series? Is it related to quality? I wouldn't say so.

6.8? What an improvement nice. Still proving to be the highest rated arc so far.

One Piece is nearing the peak of its story. Can't compare it to Super which is more of an afterthought. The fact that we're getting within 1% of it with half an hour earlier time slot is pretty good.

Anyways, i think that a lot of people likes the show but don't watch it in the morning. Since this arc began i can find a lot of japanese vídeos with people talking about it and people posting the episodes (most of them from their TVs), and well in the Champa arc i could find some videos but now there are like [a lot /size]
I really miss ma boy, Black

6.8 is a more decent rating. Last week had no justification except for the fact that kids stayed up late to watch a movie they have probably already seen.
Re: Dragon Ball Super: TV Ratings Discussion Thread
Well, is it necessary to "justify" spikes? I don't know, I think you're reading too much into it. That's rich coming from me, I'm sure. The dedicated fans will always be there though. We know for certain merchandise sales are strong and that's what really reflects how Dragon Ball affects the native audience.
Re: Dragon Ball Super: TV Ratings Discussion Thread
Other episodes this arc have done better. This one should have been the second highest rating out of all Future Trunk arc episodes so far.irreality wrote:"Should be" ? It is higher than most of the rest of Super and higher than Detective Conan. Not sure where it "should be" if not here.kinisking wrote: 6.8 is still lower than it should be..

I made a bet with Alee9977 that Vegeta won't be beaten quickly by an opponent. If I lose, I switch my avatar to Vegeta getting beat by hit. If I win, he switches it to Vegeta holding Black by his hair. This will last a month.

Re: Dragon Ball Super: TV Ratings Discussion Thread
I'm not satisfied with anything below 7.0, but 6.8 is much more acceptable than the offensive 5.7 from last week. And we're above Conan, which is always cool.
Beat Sazae-san is impossible, unless we go with a Movie. ROF did it and as far as I know it was the first time Dragon Ball ever beat Sazae-san. It felt so good!!
Beat One Piece is not impossible, but hard. We've been so close to it for some times now.
And will we ever have information about the DVR ratings again? It would be really helpful for weird weeks like the last one.

A world without Dragon Ball is just boring.

Re: Dragon Ball Super: TV Ratings Discussion Thread
Does not quite work like that. With most things ratings at the start of a new arc, season or whatever will generally be higher then the rest that followed. Right now the Trunks arc is holding a lot better than the U6 arc. Super main objective is to pull merchandise and the fact that TV ratings have improved this much is a really good thing.kinisking wrote:Other episodes this arc have done better. Re: Dragon Ball Super: TV Ratings Discussion Thread
7/12 episodes in the champa arc had a higher rating than it's first episode. I know that the Future Trunks arc got a lot of press so it'll be hard to beat the first episode, but it's not insane to think that this episode should have gotten at least a 7.1 rating. This is one of the most important episodes of the arc but didn't rate much higher than the average for the arc.Baggie_Saiyan wrote:Does not quite work like that. It's nice that the show bounced back from last weeks shocking rating.

Re: Dragon Ball Super: TV Ratings Discussion Thread
What's the problem again? Is Super being in the top 5 not good enough? Let's be real, guys. This is literally a sequal to a show that ended 20 years ago. The fact that it can break the top 7 every single week should make us fans happy. There's no point in getting disappointed.

Re: Dragon Ball Super: TV Ratings Discussion Thread
Ratings are relative to other shows in the timeslot and even what people are doing that week. It is hard to really get a feel of how one percentage one day compares to another percentage on another day. Rankings and the number in general as a proportion are guides, but it is not like an episode with .1% less rating is that much worse or better. Plus, people don't know how good an episode will be before the fact. They guess based on the preview, but a random episode in the middle of an arc can be good or bad.kinisking wrote:Other episodes this arc have done better. I know, but after episode 56 I thought people would try to tune in for this more. Oh well, it's not too far off from what I expected at least.irreality wrote:Ratings are relative to other shows in the timeslot and even what people are doing that week. Why do you people make such a big deal out of live ratings? The show is bound to last at least 100 episodes anyway at this rate, and probably more.

Super is doing good and most importantly it is consistent. For those who are dreaming Super will be #1, sorry it ain't happening ever. It won't even be able to beat One Piece.

There is a reason why super is one piece's lead in. Big thing right now is one piece
