I'd personally love a much more fleshed out story in XV2. Add a karma system like the Infamous games, where you do good or bad deeds and that will make you either the hero or the villain. It doesn't need to be something too complex, just allow for two completely different endings. That would at least force you to replay the game in order to see all the cutscenes and the ending you've missed.iop890 wrote:Same here. I spent a lot of time planning out my build, but by the time I get to level 99 and have all the skills and clothes I want I'll have 100-percented the game. Whats the point? I'm gonna grind forever to get Beerus' clothes...why? So I can wear them while grinding for super vanishing ball or Vegetto's clothes?
And this game has ZERO replay value, I can finally create a new character after beating the story and what do I see? Everyone treats him like the old character! The story doesn't even start over, not that it would be any different because they never acknowledge your race and even call you by the wrong gender multiple times.
Also, Dimps need to work on scaling difficulty with smarter/more aggressive AI rather than by giving infinite ki, infinite stamina, super armor, and multiple health-bars to the enemies. I was looking forward to playing around with body change in PQs but I can't because all the enemies have cheats enabled, so Dimps had to limit that move to PvP.
I'm desperate for a good Dragon Ball game with CaC and RPG elements, and this was a good start, but I really hope they fix some of these flaws for XV2.

I know it's been said many times already, but the RNG in this game is ridiculous. "Complete the secret requirements and then you have a random chance of getting an ultimate finish, then beat that and you have another random chance of getting drops." Two layers of RNG? Come on.
Just make specific requirements for each skill(solo PQ45 for this skill, perfect PQ23 for this one, finish PQ33 with Kamehameha for this one, etc.). Some can be easy, some can be extremely difficult. I don't care if the hard ones are so difficult that they require the same amount of time as grinding PQs did. At least with specific requirements it would be interesting and I'd have a sense of accomplishment once I got them.
Also, entering and exiting the PQ character select 45 times to get the right master to spawn isn't fun.
Anyone know how the Japanese fans reacted to the RNG? Were they annoyed too, or did they actually like it? Because I remember other Dimps games having crazy RNG as well(Popo's shop), so maybe it's a working formula there.

It's just ranked, but you have to play on the world tournament stage, and you get a separate BP score from your ranked score.
You don't even move up the ladder like an actual tournament. You'll move up the ladder by having a high world tournament BP.
Which means having a 5000:4000 win loss ratio is better than having a 1000:0 win loss ratio. Just like ranked. Everything in this game comes down to grinding.

Which is really a shame because they've hold up this mode for 5 months or so, you would expect this to be an actual WORLD Tournament, with various pools being the preliminaries and then a top 8/12/16 just like the series, heck even throw a punching machine minigame there like Raging Blast did, that would have been cool.

Man, that's exactly how I imagined the World Tournament would be like in Xenoverse. What a shame it turned out to be a huge letdown. Hopefully something like that is implemented in the World Tournament mode in Xenoverse 2.Quebaz wrote:Which is really a shame because they've hold up this mode for 5 months or so, you would expect this to be an actual WORLD Tournament, with various pools being the preliminaries and then a top 8/12/16 just like the series, heck even throw a punching machine minigame there like Raging Blast did, that would have been cool.

That kinda sucks, but I wasn't too interested in the tourney anyway. I play sporadically now and then as I'm actually still grinding a character to level 93 to get frwakin unlock potential. Hopefully we get an announcement for XV2 sometime soon. The grind aspect of this game is much too tedious without constant content updates. You can only play the same levels so many times. They probably should've planned out more DLCs to keep it fresh.

Judging by the reactions, I'm still good with keeping this game on the shelf for a bit. I had been playing to get all the PS4 trophies, and just need two more. Get all Super Attacks and the other for all Ultimate Attacks. I was using the Elder Kaioshin, "golden fruit" thing to try to farm them better-- but managed to bring myself to the last part of his training for you get "unlock potential." Problem is .. I'm somewhere in the ballpark range of 10 or so levels away before I can even do THAT (I was infuriated when that popped up, btw). So, I haven't played in quite a while just because of the sheer amount of grind it'll take to jump up those levels --- at this point it's not worth it.
.... Those 2 trophies do call my name out every so often, though.

are they like...fuckin with us?
what kind of tournament is this?
its just like ranked matches only in the budokai lol.
i swear they allways waste potencial.
you would think"oh they are saving it for the next game"
but they do the same thing with the next game LMAO.
for example in UT you could change the color of the original outfits why cant you in xenoverse?
what was the reason?
i know the original outfits have diffrent colors and everything but they easiely could make a second option where the outfits look like the colorable outfits and you could choose between both.
its like they take something from a game away and put something else in the newer game.
till we get THE dbz game you have to wait like 50 years or something.

Wow! A tournament! I would be excited, except you know.....THE WHOLE FIGHTING SYSTEM IS SLOPPY AND EXPLOITABLE!
It's a good idea and theory, but as soon as we get to the top matches, they are just going to show case to the world why this fighting system just isn't that good.
Who knows! Maybe their using this as a way to fix it up in Xenoverse 2? Or XVI?

I remember the good ol' days when Luffy here showed the good side of the fighting system. I think they just need to balance the stinkin' hit detections and transformations. The system itself is semi-deep, just put more mechanics and combos. You know what I mean?MarCas92 wrote:Wow! A tournament! Yeah. This was supposed to be the Tournament Beta. And it is just awful. Once again, the game is just rewarding spammers. Because that's like 90% of the people doing the Tournament matches. All SSJ spammers. So unless you really need to get those points, you're gonna have to turn into an a$$hole to get your numbers so the game can tell you how great you are. It's disappointing as all hell. And I can't understand why they'd stop trying to add to the game. I'm hearing they're not gonna do any more dev for Xenoverse this year. I would've thought they'd have at least included a bit more DLC story now that "Resurrection F" has been seen worldwide. Just slide it in as part of the Movie DLC pack. We deserve it.
And I still really wish that Dragon Ball wish to up your level wasn't a Single Use thing that can ONLY be used once. It defeats the purpose of even having it. If they weren't gonna make it repeatable, don't even have it at all. And the Zenni wish is worthless as well. I can make more zenni just doing "Great Ape Festival" over and over again in the time it'd take just to get the Dragon Balls. Ultimately Zenni just became worthless. With limited character slots and so few usable or worthwhile outfits, there's just no reason to spend your money on them after one or two sets. All I end up doing is buying more healing items because it's the only thing left to do. And I hated the idea that the clothing sets we got in the DLC's were expensive as $hit for no goddamn reason. Especially when their stats were identical to or Worse than things we already had. And F**k if Towa's clothing set isn't useless as all hell.
I can honestly say that for Xenoverse 2, Outfits should not affect combat stats like Damage, Health, Ki and Stamina. What they should do is, depending on the article of clothing and type, affect movement speed, defense, and stamina recovery. Like, say, the Gi given to Goku by King Kai would be lighter (so faster movement speed) and have slightly higher def vs ki based attacks. Goku's Turtle Hermit gi would be heavier (weighted gear) and slows movement speed and slightly increases def vs physical attacks. And in this way we can also remove Z-Souls

Just get rid of clothing stats and Z souls in general. You win or lose depending on where you focused your stats and how good you are, as it should be.

I liked the idea of Z-souls as a way to make different move-sets and builds(beyond the 3 or 4 you see everyone use) viable.
Unfortunately, in practice PvP just became focused entirely around the broken Z-soul of the week. Ironically making PvP even less diverse.
This game had a lot of potential, but the devs just didn't, or couldn't, put in the effort to make it great.
It's like Gohan: The Game.

It's because they had to work on so much stuff. The entire game was done from the ground up, and they had to package in a lot of content while trying to have the gameplay as polished and playable as possible with the budget and time they had. It's actually pretty noteworthy how Xenoverse didn't turn out to be a complete train wreck despite a few balance issues and poorly implemented ideas. There's certainly some effort and care put into the game that hasn't been seen in a long time with DBZ titles.iop890 wrote:This game had a lot of potential, but the devs just didn't, or couldn't, put in the effort to make it great.
The best thing to come out of XV is how solid the foundation actually is. You can expect the sequel to build off of things much more smoothly without the bulk of their focus wasted on fixing broken game mechanics and such.

I remember when this game first came out and recieved a lot of praise. Honestly it was really fun. I enjoyed the fact that you had to go and grind parallel quests in order to get strong enough to beat the main missions. Sometime around June was when I dropped the game because there was nothing else left for me to do. I have every character(except SSJ4 Vegeta), every skill, Z-Ranked every parallel quest, and around 75% of the equipment. I tried online but found myself constantly facing people who cheese the game and just didn't have the patience to adapt. Right now my main is level 96 with all the masters completed and I feel like I'm done with the game as I have no drive to grind to level 99. It's funny because at one point during July I was thinking about restarting the story mode from scratch with another character.....but you can't without deleting all your data....or somethin. Oh well, it was fun while it lasted and set a good foundation for Xenoverse 2.
Heroes come and go, but legends are forever.
