So you actually believe Zamasu is SSJG tier even considering if he wasn't immortal he would be defeated by Future Trunks back in Episode #57? And remember Zamasu's plan was about eliminating mortals he didn't want to destroy any planet, so basically he had to go to every planet in every universe to do so, it is impressive he didn't took long for that.nickzambuto wrote:Weaker SSJG Goku was already established as having the power to vaporize the whole universe. He simply restrained himself. If Zamasu had no such restraint than he could have wiped out 12 universes in a few hours at most.

Re: Non-thread-worthy discussions
Isn't the reason for the orange excessive shading? I know Ajay used it as an example for it. I doubt it's the SS forms shine too since that's basically been abolished from the animation side of things for a long time now.
When someone tells you, "Don't present your opinion as fact," what they're actually saying is, "Don't present your opinion with any conviction. Because I don't like your opinion, and I want to be able to dismiss it as easily as possible." Don't fall for it.

The colors on a character sheet represent different levels of shading, yes.ekrolo2 wrote:Isn't the reason for the orange excessive shading? I know Ajay used it as an example for it. First Gohan, then Goku, so who do you think is going to be the next hated character ?

I made a bet with Alee9977 that Vegeta won't be beaten quickly by an opponent. If I lose, I switch my avatar to Vegeta getting beat by hit. If I win, he switches it to Vegeta holding Black by his hair. This will last a month.

To be fair, I usually just see what is, IMO, a lot of unneeded disappointment towards Gohan. With Goku, there's just been straight up full-blown hate. Idk, that's just been my experience.kinisking wrote:First Gohan, then Goku, so who do you think is going to be the next hated character ?

I'm genuinely surprised by the hate going towards Goku right now. This is GOKU. The guy who's saved the earth like 5 times. Yes, he's being selfish now but he'll definitely make sure it turns out okay like he usually does.

Funny enough the kids that I know at least doesnt even see Goku as the villain this arc despite the show trying to make us buy it.
While my casual friends thats not a hardcore fans like us to the point of going into forums to discuss it and look for spoilers, actually likes this Goku, I tried telling them he's a villain which they turned me down and said "Not really, he's just having fun, nothing bad has happened yet so what do you expect him to do? Goku's not that angsty"

Are Time Rings one size fits all? At first it seems the Time Rings are the same size as your average ring. But when Zamasu blast his arm with his lightning attack, and his arm and had became larger, so does the Time Ring. Surely it should have broken when that happened? Or are Time Rings like Saiyan armour and they expand in size when wearer of it does as well?

I really needed to bring this topic here as we were getting way off topic.
Context for this discussion.

The reason why Frost proves the idea of custom tailored forms being obsolete, is because he is an Arcosian from universe six, whose forms are beat by beat identical to Freeza's. And the idea that he's meant to be a counterpart to Freeza and that justifies why his forms are similar, doesn't hold up when we realize that Frost was brought up in a different way, is a different character and person, with a different personality and lives in a different universe.
The chances of him creating the exact same forms are just non existent. And what do you mean? The golden form is an augmentation form, which was outright stated by Freeza to be created by him. Unlike the Suppression forms in which we have nothing to go on.

I'm just going to prove why it's wrong now.DanielSSJ wrote:There's a lot we don't know about Freeza's race, or how their suppression forms work. Freeza describes them as something he created himself to keep his power in check. King Cold is older and overall less powerful than his son, so maybe he doesn't need three extra suppressed states to limit his power to a manageable level. Maybe he doesn't need any, and his natural state just resembles Freeza's second form. There's just a lot we don't know. We do know that Cold is overall weaker than his son, and the anime adding a throwaway line of Cold appearing stronger than what is probably 5% of Freeza's power doesn't change that.Gog wrote:But we're talking about second form Cold here. And how powerful would his full power finial form be and would it be able to beat Perfect Cell?
Now the idea that King Cold is in his apparent true form, completely falls apart when you take time to see all of the finial forms of the Freeza family. And yes I know that they are non canon, but I'm using them as everything single one of them are designed by Akira Toriyama himself, so they hold a lot of weight.
Now there is always a consistent theme throughout the forms, no stripes, and no horns and none of those weird bumpy things that all of the lower forms have. And we can't even use the theory of Freeza being even more mutated than King Cold is. Because in the Saikyo Jump interview Akira Toriyama stated that Freeza inherited the mutant genes from King Cold. So his mutation is not more potent than King Cold's is.
Also custom made suppression forms died with the introduction of Frost, the more likely idea now is that the suppression forms function more as a genetic template that they can use.
Honestly, it is incredibly baffling that King Cold never transformed against Future Trunks. Maybe Akira Toriyama wasn't intrested in drawing him? Perhaps he wanted to subvert it? Honestly We'll most likely never know.DanielSSJ wrote:You admittedly have a point about all of the Freeza-type folks looking like Freeza's final form except for King Cold, though there's also the idea that if Toriyama intended for King Cold to be able to transform, he probably would have.Gog wrote:<snip>
I'm not sure about how Frost proves that every single member of his race has the same exact forms. Frost is clearly supposed to be a counterpart of Freeza, so it makes sense that he'd have forms that are similar to Freeza's, but that doesn't really change how Freeza's forms are implied to be something he developed. In fact, Golden Freeza brings this idea back into the forefront, given how Freeza even says that he specifically made it gold to showcase his superiority.

Re: Non-thread-worthy discussions
Wow. Just wow. The episode of Dragon Ball where Goku defeats Ma Junior is just an awesome piece of television. A truly amazing... piece of art? Would I sound too pretentious? It just did everything so well. I hasn't watched this episode since I was a kid, and never in Japanese before, but last night it instilled nearly every emotion across the board in me one after the other, and was so well paced.
I immediately watched the same episode in dub immediately after for comparison, with the intention of skipping around and just watching the highlights... but I ended up not skipping anyway. The entire episode is nonstop highlights one after the other.
Goku fighting with his chest wound
Piccolo breaking his bones
Kami asking Tenshinhan to kill him
Goku, crippled and unable to even move, telling them not to and declaring that he knows he'll somehow win, and incredulous Yamcha just screaming "You IDIOT!"
Piccolo's delighted laughter when he thinks Goku is gone and declaration that he will throw humanity into a new age of suffering and evil
Goku's RETURN
The celebration
Goku restoring Piccolo and everybody freaking out
Kami pushing Goku to take his place and Goku freaking out and running away with Chi Chi
...and that's the whole episode! Like I said, the entire script is just nonstop highlights.
People sometimes talk about their "favorite episodes" of Dragon Ball, and I never understood how somebody could have a favorite single episode. I think of the story in arcs, not single episodes. But now I think I have a favorite episode.
Which line is better on Goku's return right before the victory blow? Nozawa's "You lose!" or Schemmel's "I told you I'd win!"

Japan's culture is different when it comes to this, they tend not to be overly litigious in such situations so most doujin creators can get away with selling them without any fear of repercussions.
