Haha yeah! Schemmel has really come a long way! He's got the casual/lax Goku down to an absolute tee, just like when Satan see's him and goes over to talk that whole dialogue Schemmel delivered just the way you'd expect a bumpkin like Goku too, basically sounded like a kid trying to explain something to his parents lol.

Though it's also the better translations & scripts, since the script writers really get Goku's character from a writing standpoint nowadays.
The epic tale of how Sean Schemmel blocked me on Twitter:
I tagged him in a thread explaining how his performance wasn't rerecorded when FUNi were redoing parts of the early Z dub for the Orange Bricks.
He thought I was misrepresenting his work by saying he wasn't in something he was in.
I explained how that wasn't the situation & did a bit of a sarcastic kinda thing involving the rerecordings FUNi did for the Z dub to show how stupid that was.
He said they didn't record him & not use his recordings.
Blocked & he deleted his response tweets to me.
???
Profit...?

He's been doing that since Kai, hell even before that during the old Buu saga dub to be honest.
Sean didn't really start to get into Goku's character until the Buu saga of the old DBZ dub came out. Even in the Cell saga Goku's voice still didn't sound all that natural.

I disagree. His voice sounded very natural by the Cell Games.

Goku barely took a backseat in the Buu saga, at best he took a leisurely stroll round back while everyone else cried for him to come back.

It's definitely an improvement from his Season 3 acting. But I can't say it's all natural when we still had scenes like this popping up consistently. To me, he just sounds so......awkward. Really stilted. It's especially apparent when comparing it to his other performance of that scene in Kai.

Kai is still one of his more recent performances and I personally find nothing wrong with the Cell Games version form the original. Only that Sean has gotten much better, just like Vegeta in that same scene.

To each his own, I guess. I ain't saying he didn't have his moments in there. Don't get me wrong, I for sure think he did. But there's almost twice as many stuff that's really bad thrown right into the mix. Which, for me, cancels out the good in this case.

Nozawa and Miki are the embodiment of Zamasu. I wouldn't expect dub actor in this type of role to be up-to-par due to the directoral discontinuity between an original show and its localization, even if the dub actors are just as talented.
Not too fond of how Zamasu sounds like in the dub so far, I really hope all these videogame recordings are just "practice" and when they do the episodes they'll be a lot better. Zamasu almost sounds like a robot.
Ya'll need to realise this is just a video game, they are literally just reading lines, it's like everyone pre judging Nozawa off her work in Budokai 1 or something and not the actual series. Chill. Marsters is a phenomenal casting.
Nozawa's Black took a while to get going after all, as did Miki.
Like THAT James Marsters? Spike and Piccolo James Marsters? Has he ever even been in an anime before?

Yeah... I'm... not digging what I've heard from English dub of Zamasu so far, to be brutally honest. I appreciate the effort being put in to making the character sound regal, youthful and composed, but the delivery just sounds too stilted. I hope what we get in Super is better than this.
