Suddenly I got far in the game. Now I'm stuck on the part where I have to fight Freeza, Cell, Boo, Vegeta, Gotenks, and Gohan.

I find it funny that after Boo, Trunks says that there's nobody else to threaten them with. So even Xenoverse trashes GT. Oh, I'm sorry, my mistake; GT is some rinky dink DLC nonsense. I just can't believe after all this time, the fans get their wish with GT being treated like the redheaded step child.

Anyway, now I'm stuck again. The difference is I get so close and then out of nowhere, they just annihilate me and I can't even land a hit. Though at least I feel like I might make it through the story.

If you're having trouble with the Fiendish squad, just wait till Demigra steps in to play next mission. He's not overly hard, depending on your setup, but he's got a decent chunk of health, multi-stage battles and some cheap skills that will hurt if you can't manage to effectively avoid them.

It really gets to me that they seem to always gang up on me. I'm trying to fight and my guy just throws random punches that don't connect with anything. Oh, and my personal favorite, when the camera flips out and I can't even see myself. Since the Super Saiyans have unlimited Ki attacks, they just do them on me non-stop. I'm doing mine and they don't even hurt them because they're doing theirs at the same time.

I decided to play the GT side story, but of course, got stuck there too.

I have no explanation for this, I'm sorry. I don't know why that's happening, never encountered either of those.

Oh! Maybe you aren't locking on to your opponents?

That's not trashing GT at all... Beerus shows up immediately after Boo, as does Demigra, what Trunks says is deliberately set up so he can be contradicted.

Also the GT story is set after the main story, so it's harder to complete. It was released when many people had already completed that main storyline.

It does trash GT though that after Boo, only Beerus remained as a threat to them. Off to the parallel quests I go, I guess. And I'm locked onto them. I just want to finish this thing already. I want to be able to create another character, but if I need to start from scratch with moves and clothing and whatnot, I'll never play it again.

That's not true at all. You haven't even played the game fully, so you don't know what you're talking about.

Trunks' comment is wrong, Beerus isn't the only threat after that, and the GT content is set after the main story and still portrayed as a threat.

But isn't the GT just DLC? So you could not play it and still

beat the game, no? It's like that silly Arkham Knight DLC that I paid $30 for, where I got a 10 minute Batgirl and Red Hood story. It's completely inconsequential to the game itself.

Unless it's more than just DLC and part of the actual story. Because if that's the case, I take back what I said. If GT is just DLC, though, I'm right on the money. DLC is the lazy extra crap they throw in so you'd spend another $20 minimum on it after you already spent $60.

What I actually did when I played was between every Story arc I dabbled every PQ avaliable to me (not necessarly beat them) and then moved on. With this I was getting random clothing and skills and enough experience to just blaze trought the next Story arc. Pro-tip: you can do every PQ online and have it count towards your progression.

I can't believe I passed the story mode. After a few days of pure frustration, I actually did it. The story is good, but yeah, GT is no more recognized in the timeline than any of these "altered pasts."

It was a good story. I'm a little surprised they crossed over with Pokemom (toki-toki), but overall, it was good.

The fighting mechanics are atrocious though.

Yeah, I do agree that some of the PQ's were infuriatingly hard. Super Saiyan Bargain Sale was just awful. In retrospect, as fun as the story-mode was, there was only one or two really awful missions - the Beerus and Whis fight sticks in the mind.

The only PQ that I never actually beat was the final DLC where you've got to take down most of Goku and Vegeta's transformations from base all the way to SSGSS. It's not an issue of dying, it's just an issue of time.

I don't remember, to technically beat it, can't you just activate SS4 Gogeta to start the Ultimate Finish and then just not die? Because failing an Ultimate Finish doesn't cause you to lose, but you will get a lower score.

So has there been any news on those Event PQs that were found in the game data files?

It's DLC that continues the story. It is treated in an identical way to the story that came before it, it was just released separately. Not all DLC is the same, Skyrim's DLC for example expands on the setting greatly.

The GT DLC has proper stakes and has a really nice ending for Trunks/Vegeta.

I don't know if it has the same stakes. Game's over. It's cool, let it be known that GT was a "side story."

I find it hilarious how far the game goes out of its way to let you know that GT is not canon. Trunks goes into this long explanation about how it's a different timeline and it's a different version of him created by when he went back in time. I know theoretically he could say that about everything after the Cyborgs came, but he doesn't, he only says it for GT. At least twice, he says something like, "But you don't care about that stuff, do you?" Oh and my personal favorite, Trunks gains "new-found respect" for his "other self" because he comes to help you fight; "You do learn from your mistakes!" Really? New found respect for that? The bar must have really been low.

I always thought he was just referring to the fact that GT Trunks is the future of main-timeline Trunks and Time Patrol Trunks is the future of Future Trunks, so yeah, different timelines, doesn't say anything about GT in particular. (Whereas Kid Trunks post-android-arc isn't as similar as GT Trunks is.)

I don't understand why some people have such an issue with DLC. If you don't like it simply don't buy it, no ne is forcing you.

What's the problem with DLC? The only thing I saw on here was me saying that DLC is like extra stuff to the story that you can choose to include or not, so it is pretty meaningless to the game, which was my point with the GT DLC.
