Dragon Ball Super Strength Discussion Thread
Re: Official Unofficial "Dragon Ball Super" Power Level Discussion Thread
It's not like there aren't similarities, there clearly is considering they supposedly start with the same outline.
When things match up, that's all well & good. But we can't say things are the same because the continuities are different.
For example, in the manga Vegeta could've beaten Hit if he hadn't wasted SSJB against Cabba. In the anime, even if he was aware of Hit's time skip, he would've lost the moment Hit improved. I don't think we should go looking for answers in one to explain the other. Black's time travel shenanigans are a weird nonsensical paradox in the anime. And Black's plan in the manga follows the typical DBZ form of time travel. (Goku Black is the definite future until Trunks travels back to prevent it, changing the timeline.)
In short, it's fine when things line up. And I suppose looking at it as "These can work until contradicted" is fine way to do it. I just don't think we should assume everything is the same, because they have a pretty high rate of being different aside from major points.

Re: Official Unofficial "Dragon Ball Super" Power Level Discussion Thread
So with there being conformation that the GoDs are not equal, and that there's a mortal stronger than Beerus. What are the odds that Merged Zamasu was in fact stronger than Beerus? I'm thinking this is more likely. Before everyone just assumed Beerus was this pinnacle of power no mortal could attain. Now I'm thinking Goku is not too far behind him once his new form is unveiled. He's way to relaxed around Beerus now.
Re: Official Unofficial "Dragon Ball Super" Power Level Discussion Thread
According to that other thread, the writer for the series said Roshi is weaker than Tien and was only so strong because of witchcraft.
So I suppose that's good for consistencies sake.
In the manga he isn't stronger than Beerus but Super Saiyan Blue Vegito probably is. In the anime the Merged Zamasu at first was probably similar in power to how he is in the manga so he'd probably be weaker than Beerus.
After he does his Light of Justice power up that allowed him to fight against Vegito....he's possibly above Beerus. At least in the same general league.

If we mix and match with the manga he probably is.MagmonKai wrote:What are the odds that Merged Zamasu was in fact stronger than Beerus? I'm thinking this is more likely.

A bunch of interesting tweets (this is directly from a DBS writer):

https://twitter.com/toshio916/status/861361570013511683
So yeah, no crap like Android 17 being as strong as SSJ2. He's the "third strongest" with Gohan and Piccolo tagging along (this was a little before Frieza's reveal I think).
Goku > Vegeta > Android 17 > Gohan > Piccolo > Majin Buu > Android 18 > Krillin > Tien > Roshi, with Frieza being probably above 17, given Goku's comment on the fact that he and Vegeta (meaning: only he and Vegeta) can stop Frieza in case.
Also, Roshi is weaker than Tien confirmed.

Might be, but this is after Gohan gets ultimate status back WITH a power boost to boot. If A17 is "probably superior" to Gohan, that means he is superior to Majin Buu.dragon boss z wrote:He may of forgotten about Buu since he knew Buu wasn't in the tournament.wolflonnie wrote:A bunch of interesting tweets (this is directly from a DBS writer):

He didn't say they were tagging along, he said they were getting stronger so he can't affirm 17 being the third strongest.wolflonnie wrote: So yeah, no crap like Android 17 being as strong as SSJ2. 17's strength in general is still unclear. He could be anywhere between Super Saiyan 3 Goku and Super Saiyan Blue.

Re: Official Unofficial "Dragon Ball Super" Power Level Discussion Thread
I wonder why Goku didn't mention Gohan beating Golden Frieza along with Vegeta as well.
Does that mean he's weaker? If he's a match for current SSJB Goku then he should be drastically stronger.
Maybe that's over thinking it all.

Probably. After all, Goku and Vegeta were the ones to fight Freeza when he was revived, so Goku would naturally think of himself and Vegeta first. Plus, both of them know they're the strongest two fighters for their team.Bullza wrote:I wonder why Goku didn't mention Gohan beating Golden Frieza along with Vegeta as well.

It makes perfect sense for me, I still put Ultimate Gohan at SSJ2 to SSJ3 Goku at best, he is still far below SSJB Goku let alone SSJG.

I keep gohan at SSG levels plain because he traded blows with SSB even if it was a total of 4..
If wasn't for that scene, I would out him between current SS2 to SS3 goku
SSG levels would make him weaker than golden freeza and strong enough to do what he did against goku

How much stronger can Gohan and Piccolo get there's only like a couple hours at most left.wolflonnie wrote:A bunch of interesting tweets (this is directly from a DBS writer):

So all the writers probably have slightly to moderately different power scales. We can piece together Toshio's a little bit better we those tweets, but I doubt it means much for anyone else.

Exactly. Thank you for making sense. Also he said "I think" implying either he didnt know or that others may have different opinions.Beyond wrote:So all the writers probably have slightly to moderately different power scales. Goku's goal was to reassure and convince the team members as much as possible that Freeza could not betray them.
So it would make much more sense for him to cite other warriors who could also defeat him to calm the limbs.
But he did not say anything, implying that they can not defeat Freeza yet

@SaiyanGod117: i think he meant in the tournament. I mean, Gohan will become stronger by partecipating in the fights, thus surpassing A17.
Re: Official Unofficial "Dragon Ball Super" Power Level Discussion Thread
I think the most interesting thing recently is that Whis didn't reveal the name of the mortal who is two steps ahead of Beerus. I suppose that could be a lie, like they did with Monaka, to give an extra drive to the team. I wonder how they will manage to win against this uber powerful guy/gal.
Re: Official Unofficial "Dragon Ball Super" Power Level Discussion Thread
Goku will probably come out with whatever was teased in the opening.
I'd be surprised if it wasn't Jiren who was the mortal.
