"Dragon Ball XENOVERSE 2" Official Discussion Thread
Re: "Dragon Ball XENOVERSE 2" Official Discussion Thread
Other than the models looking a bit too shiny, which is an art choice, I think the game still looks good. Having it on the go on Switch certainly helps.

Would be so nice if they did xenoverse 3. I wonder when it will happen. Maybe in 2 to 3 years?

We still have 2 more Chapters left of the Future Saga, I could see Chapter 3 coming out later this year.Shiba87 wrote: Mon Jul 07, 2025 10:53 pm Would be so nice if they did xenoverse 3. I wonder when it will happen. Maybe in 2 to 3 years?
Chapter 4 in 2026 and then maybe Xenoverse 3 in Late 2026?
It's possible Xenoverse 2 could pull an Overwatch 2 and rename the game to Xenoverse 3 with a massive expansion that's only available on current gen systems.
I think they should start out with OG Dragonball and do changes there, have our character start off as a Kid or Teen like Dragon Ball Online.
I'd like our Xenoverse 2 character to be the protagonist for Xenoverse 3, maybe have the game start off with Daima and have our character transform into a kid. But the transformation has demon energy or something that makes our character reset to level 1. That's how we can do OG Dragonball.

Dragon Ball would be incredible if thats where it started for X3.

Yeah, I've been saying for a while, my ideal XV3 would take place in a new timeline, where we're not a Time Patroller, but a born resident of that timeline. Player choice would affect where the story goes, and how characters change. It would also be nice if we had the choice to be the villain of the story.

I feel like XenoVerse 3 is slowly becoming the Half Life 3 of the Dragon Ball games. I can't help but wonder if we'll still be speculating about it 10 years from now.

Half life 2 ends on a cliff hanger, Xenoverse 3 was never promised or teased, apples and oranges.Vegeta th3 4th wrote: Wed Jul 09, 2025 3:43 pm I feel like XenoVerse 3 is slowly becoming the Half Life 3 of the Dragon Ball games. Ironically, XV2 is basically what people want to see in a live services game. Rather than a sequel every other year or three years, one game that just get constantly supported. It's the closet we have to an dragon ball mmo without all of the expensive trappings that comes with developing for that genre.miguelnuva1 wrote: Wed Jul 09, 2025 11:39 pmHalf life 2 ends on a cliff hanger, Xenoverse 3 was never promised or teased, apples and oranges.Vegeta th3 4th wrote: Wed Jul 09, 2025 3:43 pm I feel like XenoVerse 3 is slowly becoming the Half Life 3 of the Dragon Ball games. I don’t see the reason in a XV3 when this game is still going strong.

Re: "Dragon Ball XENOVERSE 2" Official Discussion Thread
How do you guys think the Future Saga story will end? Do you think some major changes to the story will happen or will it pretty much end the way DLC 6 did, with a slight change to status quo? There's a small chance something might happen, given that Fu's slowly becoming more of a (reluctant?) villain instead of an antagonist, plus there was that shot of a "destroyed" conton city.
Personally though, I don't think it's going to end with anything that exciting happening. I don't even think Conton city is getting destroyed, it'll either be a vision that the Time Patroller has or the exact spot from the shot is likely to be the only thing that gets destroyed and they'll use it for a new feature or event.
It would be cool if whatever happened led into a Xenoverse 3, but yeah I agree on the game doing well enough to not really need a sequel. They've been able to get by since 2018 with the same song and dance of Fu turning characters purple, weakening whoever's supposed to win, and then the heroes bringing in the TP and a guest . And before that it's been Mira and Towa since 2015. If it's been working that long then there's no reason to switch it up.
What I really want from it though is some actual what-if characters and forms. It doesn't have to go crazy like Heroes, nor does it have to copy what Heroes did 1-1, but I feel like they're way overdue. I wouldn't be so obsessed with the idea of Xenoverse including them if its story didn't revolve around causing scenarios and fights that aren't supposed to happen. If Dyspo can drop in during the Buu Arc and Goku can go Ultra Instinct, I don't think having Vegito go Super Saiyan 4 would do much harm, right?
But I kind of get it. Doing something like dropping a playable and fightable Super Saiyan 4 Broly or a Janemba-absorbed Buu for example would set a new standard for fans. And they'd have to constantly one-up that standard anytime they did DLC, and it would make no sense to do that and make it expected when fans have been perfectly fine for over 10 years with them just turning random characters purple.

Cheelai and base Super Broly, not shown in-battle but it's a safe bet they're playable. Also a tease for a Freeza thing

FighterZ isn't active, outside of tourneys I suppose. It doesn't get content updates.

Besides, the obvious pick would be Daima kid Goku and we already have a kid Goku in the game that transforms into SSJ4.

Re: "Dragon Ball XENOVERSE 2" Official Discussion Thread
FighterZ is definitely done for a long time.
Per some alleged insider leaks, ArcSys fell out with Bandai because of their quality approach and Bandai paying in peanuts for a lot of work and tight deadlines.
Which supposedly happend during the netcode fiasco and was the reason why it took so long and the last addition being just Base Android 21.
Which is kinda sad, as there won’t be another ArcSys Dragon Ball game as good as FighterZ.
It’s still my most favorite PS4/PS5 era DB game.

Why would there be? FighterZ's support was ended a while ago, bro.Noah wrote: Tue Sep 23, 2025 3:56 pm Funny how there is a DAIMA DLC in every active DB game, but not in FighterZ lol
Only dubs that matter are DB, Kai, & Super. Nothing else.

Can't Bandai make up with them or is it a lot more complicated than that? Because the reaction to the HxH game pre and post release show me that any fighting game not made by Arcsys is going to have an uphill battle winning over fans. And I'm not even just talking about visual quality. It's well known that no other studio apart from CC2 and MoreFun/Cube Studios comes close.MCDaveG wrote: Thu Sep 25, 2025 2:38 pm FighterZ is definitely done for a long time.

Bandai isn't just keeping us from getting more with FighterZ, they've successfully screwed over any other anime from getting a game as beautiful and as playable as FighterZ was.

Yeah, to clarify some things from previous post, I started to do more fact check researches with the help of AI and the fallout is just a rumor based on statements and speculations, but what I can base on the official facts, it's hard to tell how it went in the background, but the support probably ended in 2022, rollback netcode was quite hard task as stated by ArcSys to implement retroactively, which was done by 2024, the game producer apologized for it and the facts on the edge of rumors are, that Bandai probably chose to do the task themselves, with ArcSys involvement not being clear past the 2022 point. ArcSys didn't count with the rollback netcode in the original development and per this lesson, they stated that it will be a standard going forward.IntangibleFancy wrote: Thu Sep 25, 2025 8:43 pmCan't Bandai make up with them or is it a lot more complicated than that? It's annoying how that ArcSys rumor started, and I feel that at the time FighterZ ended they were already working on their gorgeous new Marvel fighting game. Marvel probably saw FighterZ success and approached them, instead of opting for a new Marvel vs Capcom game.

FighterZ still looks great but this is gorgeous.

I am super hyped for Tokkon, even tho I am a DC fan. The designs are gorgeous and I am Iron Man and Spiderman fan as well, can't wait.Jord wrote: Sat Sep 27, 2025 6:26 am It's annoying how that ArcSys rumor started, and I feel that at the time FighterZ ended they were already working on their gorgeous new Marvel fighting game. ArcSys has great and steady reputation. They have refined the cell shade anime style to perfection to the point, where they did a showcase on how they do it. As a naive fan, I wouldn't see a reason to not approach them with anything.
I have spent aeons in FighterZ and in most of the Guilty Gear games... except for Strive, I prefer Xrd Rev2.
