Seeing how Yamadera played Spike Spiegel in the original Japanese version, I was more than willing to accept a Steve Blum Spike-esque voice for Birus. Though, that doesn't seem to be what we're getting if the Battle of Z casting holds over for the film. :/

Steve Blum and Troy Baker were my dream choices for Beerus myself.

Hell Beerus even sounds abit like Troy Baker in that one Battle of Z trailer where he says "Your a confident one, challenging me." Just came as real similar to his greed voice he used in FMA Brotherhood.

1) We will have a brand new cast, very talented and known. They already dubbed some of the first movies before.
2) We will get a more faithful translation than ever. No more Yanco (Yamcha), Tensing (Tienshinan) and Onda Energetica (Kamehameha)!
3) We will use Bills as the name for our purple feline.

I hope the movie does well! If it does, and the new cast is well received, we MIGHT finally get a dub of DB Kai here!

Dude, i know it's not accurate, that's why i haven't put in on point 2).
A strange choice indeed, but i'm still happy for the other things they fixed. And at least they didn't give him a made up name.

Near as I can tell, it was used once (on a third-party 3DS LL case before the movie actually came out), and the official romanization has since been set by Toei as "Beers" as seen in the movie's official guide book.

"Bills" is indeed being sent around in the press kits for the movie, however, and this is a practice that makes me bang my head against the closest desk.

Well, they'd likely never be able to get Steve Blum himself, sadly. I'd love to hear him work in a FUNi dubbed title, but I think he only does union work now (and a lot more domestic animation than anime too), whereas FUNi is non-union. It sucks, but them's the breaks I guess.

So, I guess he's responsible for making the choice of FUNimation not using Bills. Which I was ecstatic to hear that.

Looks like the Latin American dub of "Battle of Gods" is now on itunes, it also comes with the Japanese audio. Now all that's left is the DVD release of it.

I assume what's happening is the equivalent of a recent movie coming on HBO or Showtime. You wouldn't expect to see recent movies air on broadcast when they've only been out for about a year.

A look at the Taiwanese bluray release of "DBZ: Battle of Gods"
Cover-wise, it looks the same. Case is a little thicker than the Hong Kong release.
Includes all the trailers, 2 postcards..

Sadly, no English subtitles.
