TheMikado wrote:The problem with the anime is that you have to try and rectify the 10% SSJ2 Vegeta with SSBxKKx10 with Base Goku vs Beerus. This results in all kinds of weird head canon from the fan base and that doesn't even cover power ambiguity from the universe 7 team, Trunks, or the fact that we think Goku is always holding back to ridiculous levels. The problem is the narrative as written now does not build on or take into account previous information in its own series or even the previous episode.

For context of the above, it would be like Raditz saying Gohan rage boosted to 10% of Freeza's full power at the beginning of Z but the story playing out the same. It wouldn't make any sense narratively and really show a lack of attention to detail and poor writing.

While Toriyama may not have used actual calculators he was very careful in making the power pyramid make sense even retroactively. Even if it did cause some power inflation the narrative still took into account ALL previous events.
I don't tend to take enough of an interest in power scaling to get involved with the discussion, but this is one hell of a solid post. You hold my respect.

I think when that was written they were just going off on the idea that Super Saiyan God Goku was about 60% as strong as Beerus.

They were just working with what had been established with the movie.

Then things changed a bit when Toriyama intended for Beerus to stay ahead of them even up till now. I'd just ignore the line myself.

Yeah, that's exactly how I view it as well. Beerus even tells Goku later that he's using 100% of his strength. So at best, Rageta is only 10% of SSG Goku, not Beerus. It's one of those few times when it was explicitly stated that the line was supposed to be a lie and not to be taken seriously.

That's an incredibly poor excuse considering Frieza has remained the strongest natural living being in the universe even into GT with the exception of Ledgic ( who btw may have been part of Freeza's army and powered up since then as can be seen in the RoF manga). Or how about the fact that Goku's first transformation the Oozaru form mathematically made Vegeta the second strongest in the universe after Frieza when transformed? My point is the "Toriyama forgot" meme is mostly BS when he's been incredibly consistent in taking into account previous scenarios. For better for worse Toriyama has lived and died by building on his previous work, not ignoring it. We shouldn't have to ignore especially when nothing in this instance says that we should.

Yeah, of course.
Great job Toyotaro.
I mean, what? The picture and dialogue pretty much confirm Goku saw Beerus do the move a lot offscreen.
Don't fall for it. They just want to have something to pick with. It would be no fun for them otherwise.

That's a nice find by you BTW.

Yes, that's accurate. The official Viz translation uses "horrible" though.
When will it be Ledgic's time to shine?

I hope at the very least, this ending (Please be the ending chapter) will be a spectical. I may think this manga has been a downhill drive, but the visual aspects are usually the good natured bumps in the road.

Part of me is super excited to see how this all plays out. The evil part of me doesn't want this to be the last chapter simply because of the reactions.

Either it's going to be fun.

Even though the way the Zamasu arc ended left me unsatisfied, I enjoyed the arc in general so I'm looking forward to seeing how this version's ending plays out.

Yeah... No, Zeno will be called. The whole point of Goku getting the Zeno button is for Zeno to be called, and we know that there will be two Zeno in the Universal Survival Arc

How so? The anime version was just a great amount of nonsenses and unexplained things only saved from pure mediocrity by Goku Black's personality.
