Dragon Box to include BOTH dub tracks?

Seems pretty contradictory to me.

It's not an insult if we are saying there don't need to be TWO dub tracks at the cost of picture quality.

Music does not have feelings. Stop acting like not enjoying it is a personal attack on you. And, you did insult the original score. Or someone else did, at least. I heard the word "wimpy."

It's also not an insult to say that we don't like it, or feel it doesn't fit the show well, but you people keep taking it as one.

It also wasn't an insult for Leprikan to say he thought it was boring either. But, oh wait, it's the precious Japanese score, nobody can say anything about it.

I just feel that the ""rock"" sounding music over orchestra music FOR ME fits better for a show with that much action and fighting.

Not at all. Is it really so wrong for people to be annoyed though when they're finally supposed to be getting a fully consistent and high quality release, only to find that it might be handicapped by the inclusion of the audio track for an audience that's already been served repeatedly? I don't think so.

Well, I guess I would be one of those that you find so amusing. I claimed in the past that I liked my season sets. I like them because they're cheap, they're consistent, and as far as I knew, they were the best option available. Something better comes along and I want it.

The only conclusion that I can deduce from this is that the season sets were just an atrocious release to begin with. It may have been the best at the moment but it was still the best in the category of bad releases. The Dragonbox is in a whole nother class of release. If it wasn’t you wouldn’t be interested in it. Look at it this way, there were mice who said that they won’t be going after that cheese because they already know that at the end of the maze the passage is locked, and there were mice who searched anyway and wasted their energy. Now that the passage has opened all the mice are searching for the cheese.
By saying this I didn’t contribute much to this particular thread, but I just took the privilege and opportunity to point out (once again) how bad the season sets are.

When I first mentioned insults of the score, I was speaking in the context of what you guys were saying Leprikan's comments were. You guys are acting just as butthurt as we allegedly do over him saying that the Japanese score is boring or wimpy.

Face it: You guys are just as bad as we are. It's just that since there's less of us and most of us dubbies don't really have the balls to say certain things (well, at least I don't), we see less instances of you guys being "butthurt."

No, the season sets are not a bad release. It depends on what you're looking for. If you wanted an affordable, decent looking, bi-lingual consistent release, then the season sets fulfill those wants perfectly. The season sets were never released to compete with the Dragon Boxes so there's not a whole lot to gain from comparing them. You don't compare string cheese to Rogue River Blue. But if you want a quick little snack that's tasty and cheesy, string cheese will satisfy any little hungry mouse.

I feel the opposite. The silent gaps inbetween certain scenes build tension.

Where do we go from here? I really don't know. This is being aimed at fans of the Japanese version. It's great you feel that way, but it's just irrelevant to the situation.

When you put it this way, I agree wholeheartedly (even though I'm a dub fan myself). It was just Raki's wording of the issue that bothered me.

Not you. I read your posts. I'm typing of jjpg1112 and LeprikanGT who haven't addressed it. If having one too many dub track hampers quality, is it necessary or worth it?

No, it's not worth it. But I'm not entirely convinced that it's going to hamper the quality. And if it does, FUNimation can easily up the disc count. The draw of this release is the quality, after all.

If they don't have enough space for two dubs, then they should include the music that's actually PART of the dub and not an addition added to a box set 5 years after the dub was finished.

And like I said, the discs are probably already encoded at this point, so what are we even arguing about?

My point being - I just feel if they drop the Dub/Dub track, they will lose sales, I'm not saying a huge chunk; but some.

I'm not planning to buy them if that track ISNT on there; if only just to see the books it comes with.

No one cried "wah wah Leprikan is being mean" - we just argued he was wrong. That's the keen difference.
